    Run that car on E-85 and it would run about 170 when it’s hot. Good stuff

      I’ve considered alcohol but I haven’t dug into switching to E-85. I’ll look into it!

    I would put that thing on at least E85 so quick it would make your head spin. LOL A big electric pump, a good regulator, and let her eat. I've been running methanol for over 20 years, and the amount of "extra" maintenance required is highly exaggerated. Alcohol of some variety would loosen your converter up a touch as well with the extra low end torque it makes.

      I appreciate the info! E85 is most likely in the near future. 🙌🏻

      @PLANBRACING they date back to the 1960's on some of GM's first boosted cars. It works super well and can drop intake Temps more than 60° mine is a "Devils own" system but with a pump reservoir and hob switch with a couple nozzles it can he homemade to come on based on a boost # based on your Hobb switch.

    Awesome vid on some awesome racing. You're living the dream for us that are financially strapped. On the heat situation therers bags of ice you can lay on the blower or invest in fans to blow at the engine and if your trailer doesn't have a tarp to block some of the sun maybe that. Or switch to E-85 or alcohol. E-85 might be cheaper to convert to. The blower will Condensate/Sweat. Heat will be a thing of the past and power will shoot up. More power to play with. Again great video.

      Appreciate it! I’ve looked at the alcohol route and the cost to do so is pretty pricey along with the safety stuff I would have to update being an supercharged alcohol car… I do have a canopy I can park under and I definitely want to get some fans! Could have a fuel switch in the future. Maybe this winter we’ll see!

      @@PLANBRACING You would know more about this so I ask, Do the same rules apply to E-85 vs M-1 methanol? And on the strong smell of methanol they sell an additive that makes the it not as strong in smell and if I'm right the coast of fuel should be way cheaper.

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  Год назад +1

      I’m not sure about the rules with E-85 and methanol/alcohol… in the NHRA rule book it only talks about alcohol fuels like methanol. Without reading into it more I think I would be fine with E-85 when it comes to the safety stuff. As far as alcohol/methanol I’d have to invest into a new fuel pump and regulator which isn’t a huge deal. Where it gets expensive is sending the carb in and getting the supercharger re-clearance and stripped. The Blower Shop said the clearances have to be a lot tighter with alcohol fuels. The fuels are cheaper for sure. But I also would have to start running more expensive oil and drain my fuel system if the car is going to sit for a period of time… so there’s more cost and maintenance on the other hand 😂 so many things to consider.

    What rpm are you leaving at and what does your converter flash to? It just sounds terribly bogged down when you leave and also doesn't sound like you really hit the two step at the tree. I would think if you are leaving about where your converter is trying to lock up, you would be building a lot of heat in the transmission too causing it to slow down a after a few runs.

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  Год назад +1

      I definitely think my converter is a little tight for my setup for sure. It flashes about 5,200 rpm and I’m leaving the line at 4,100 on the two step. I have a good trans cooler and I can touch my cooler lines after every pass so I don’t feel like it’s building a lot of heat but I’ll throw a temp gauge on there to make sure!

    • @redneck.entertainment
      @redneck.entertainment Год назад +1

      The blower makes a lot of low end torque, I think you’re converter is to loose. I been there and done it. I get 1.35 60’ leaving at 2500, 28” tall tire and 4.10 gear. I tried a looser converter and didn’t pic up any…

    • @top189h
      @top189h Год назад +1

      Sounds good, it was just a guess. In my camaro I leave at 4200 but the stall is 5800 and in my dragster I leave at 4500 and stall is 6400. So it just sounded really different from what I was used to when it leaves.

    So is it manual and if not what are you doing when you shift. someone please explain

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  Год назад

      It’s an auto transmission but with manual valve body so it has to be shifted manually (without a clutch). It can be shifted by hand or by an air solenoid connected to a timer or RPM switch.

      @jarez3781 Год назад +1

      Yep. Those little blowers will literally take and run very well with the biggest carb you can put on it as well. The carb on a blower is like a restriction plate and blowers don't like restrictions.

    Hey young fella I could understand the want for that shiny baby blower say if I had a 32 coupe or like that but my very first Novice style nova NO Bro sorry I would have instead spent that cash for a greater Bang for the buck ...and unless you have a pair of Dominators sticking out the hood I don't like chopping holes in the hood at all ..after all why advertise ...keep it stupid simple ... You do realize of course how much heat your "Blower" is killing you with right while yes they do help you build HP it comes at a cost motors don't like being fed HOT air .. cool it down and watch your numbers come back ...did you know just a little shot of spray can assist you in lowering your intake charge air temp A LOT.....Lower intake temp faster car .Bro a lot of this is common motorhead sense .. YES COOL is really Cool your car will love you for it so cool the fuel get yourself an old Moroso Cool Can and pack it with dry ice or just plain ice it will venturi effect your way hot blower air temp to a more manageable level giving you the added performance your after...try it and see.
