The customs officer said to me, " I am going to check inside of your luggage." the officer open my suitcase and the largest spider with long legs jump at him. I was so happy that it happen at the airport and not my home. The customs officer said to me, "Look what you are bringing into the US." The funny thing was that you could see that shaken up. :)

After reading some of the comments, It is somewhat sad that most of the Angelenos do not know the history of California. The Spanish-Mexican/ American war ended the the Los Angeles area, in the Cahuenga pass, in the Hollywood Hills along the Hollywood freeway. So when you are stuck in traffic. Remember that part of the freeway was a battle ground. Lots of people died.

    • @jcminvestments9078

      The battle
      Edit
The opposing armies were made up of brothers, sons, uncles, nephews, and friends, who though angry at one-another preferred to avoid mortal combat.
Victoria had half the troops of his opponents. Undaunted, he ordered his men to fire. They did so, but aimed their volley over their adversaries' heads. The rebels answered with a similar reply, and a stand-off ensued.
Alone among the government troops Captain Jose Antonio Romualdo Pacheco (father of the future governor Romualdo Pacheco) interpreted Victoria's order as a command to charge the enemy on horseback, spurring on his mount with outstretched lance. When he discovered he was alone he halted between the two forces. Jose Maria Avila of the rebel army, a former alcalde of the Pueblo of Los Angeles, took offense and went out to challenge Pacheco in mounted combat.
Excellent horsemen, the pair were evenly matched. After three unsuccessful charges, Pacheco finally knocked Avila's lance to the ground. Infuriated, Avila drew his pistol and shot Pacheco from the saddle, killing him. Shocked at his reflexive act, Avila sat on his horse in a kind of horrified stupor.
Upset at such unchivalrous behavior, Governor Victoria, drew his pistol and shot Avila dead.
This angered Captain Portilla, who charged Victoria and put his lance through the Governor's face, ripping off a chunk of flesh and cartilage. Victoria fell writhing at the wound. Both forces broke off the conflict.

U have to drive everywhere, u live in your car, traffic is horrendous, the air quality is horrible, the cops r demonic, people r unfriendly unless they know u, its very segregated, the people r pretentious, materialistic, superficial, arrogant, pompous, shallow, and corny. Its not their fault, its the entertainment industry, segregation, and car culture that makes them that way. the vibe is wack ! I am not dissing hell.a., its just doesn't suit my personality. I would like to see a report on him how he wanted to vilify hemp so that he did not to have to retool his wood paper making factories to hemp. I think William Randolph Hearst did more bad than good.

I was raised in L.A., went to Hollywood Sr. High School and I still visit once a year, I live in Sacramento now which is the State Capital of California. When ever I drive south to visit friends and family, I tend to jump onto the 170 freeway and usually will get off of it at either Sherman Way or Victory Blvd because I like to see how things are in my old Neighborhoods like the Valley Plaza area formerly a part of North Hollywood till Nihon broke up into several smaller areas like Valley Village and Valley Vista, the Valley Plaza area is most famous for the North Hollywood Shoot-out failed Bank robbery attempt, but for me its more personal. I was raised mostly in North Hollywood till 1994 when I moved to Sacramento, I lived on both sides of NoHo, first on its west side bordering Van Nuys, literally my Apts were the Van Owen Gardens at Van Owen St. & Ethel Ave and went down to 1 block and the Tajunga Wash away from the Van Nuys border the Valley Plaza area was the hangout spot for the young folks on this side of NoHo, the Valley Plaza Park, Rec Center & Pool are important to me, i was in the Valley Plaza Pool's Water Polo team for 4yrs, in that time we took 2nd in the regional championships twice and 1st in the regional championships twice and went onto the state championships were we ended up 4th in the state the first year and 2nd the second year losing to a team from San Diego. So the Valley Plaza is special in my heart, from their I head to the NoHo Art District which is the other side of NoHo where I lived in the Magnolia Blvd and Vineland Ave area I lived about 8 blocks from the Burbank Border, in this area ill stop by my bf's house who I've known from 7th grade on, well hang out and chat for awhile before I load my family Into my vehicle and he does the same and then we cruise out to Santa Monica Pier were we will spend the rest of the day bbqing, listening to music and enjoying the day watching all the kids play and swim. That's my first hours in L.A., lol

lmao, whatsup with the Kardashian reference and linking with LA? LA is not all about that. You cannot just describe LA in one description. LA is really diverse and spread out. Every city has their very own unique vibe going on. Pasadena to DTLA , Hollywood or Santa Monica, Burbank, K Town or WeHo, Alhambra etc . You gotta move and stay here to experience and can tell a story what is LA is about.
