- Donald Trump has stepped up his rhetoric against North Korea, threatening to "totally destroy" the country.
In a highly combative debut speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, the US president mocked North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his "depraved regime".
Al Jazeera's Diplomatic Editor James Bays reports from the UN headquarters in New York.

Nah, Putin would've done it anyways, even during Trump's time warnings were coming out of Moscow about Ukraine, it's just that during Biden's presidency the move from Ukraine to join NATO and the EU accelerated, Trump has mostly not really pressed that issue though he pressed others the withdrawal from the INF treaty and putting missiles in Romania which eventually lead Moscow to double down not back down.
The war in Donbas will in full swing and Trump mostly kept out of it and as such Zelensky throughout 2020 was quiet, when Biden comes in he starts to get more confrontational with Putin probably some promises were made that were never meant to be kept or the Biden admins through Putin was bluffing and convinced Zelensky to start being more confrontational. Then Putin struck.
It's not a matter of "Trump scary" it's more that Trump stayed out of it and had other issues he was worried about, Ukraine was never really his business, China was his main concerned followed by domestic issues followed by Iran and NK. Ukraine and Russia are such a small thing that he didn't care it's not of "America First" to push NATO Expansionism or to do favours to expand the EU risking a war with Russia for no actual gain to yourself in the process especially when, as Trump pointed out at the time EU nations were gladly doing tons of business with the Russians and becoming completely energy dependent on them

@Kordell Swoffer North Korea keep some of their nuclear missile launch systems within 100 miles of the Russian border. Destroying them without provoking Russia would be remarkably difficult. Also I highly doubt that Russia would just stand by regardless. Then there is China who wouldn't attack the US in South Korea but China would not tolerate so many US Warships so close to their seas.
@Kordell Swoffer I do find your opinion on Russia not doing much to be troubling. They could provoke Middle Eastern countries to cause trouble for the US. The Far Eastern front would be a US win but the Middle East isn't so cut and dry. More countries would side with US enemies than would side with us. Russia would exploit this.
