    Honestly to me anything that isn't creatine monohydrate, whey protein concentrate (not the overly priced, nutrient stripped out other versions) and maybe beta-alanine is pretty much a scam. Nice to hear you talk about the testosterone increase. So few people realize that unless you are boosting levels to a supraphysiological level (AKA steroids) OR you are raising it from a deficiency to a normal physiological level, it means nothing.

      Great simple advice only if more people would listen to you. I have never understood test boosters they cost twice as much as steroids do and you get none of benefits. If you are going to all that expense to boost your lvl's just inject test once a week. In my eye taking both makes you a non natty, might as well spend your money on something that works.

      InkTechnique Yes, there is. Mike Chang pushes his own supplements, claiming that they will magically make people lose fat, which we all know is impossible without proper nutrition. He also claims to be the expert on getting six pack abs, even though in most of his videos he has no visible six pack. Finally, he presents information in his videos as fact, when in actuality, there is no scientifically or medically based evidence to support these so called facts

      ***** Bull. When I was on Atkins, I kept a record of what I was eating for quite a while. I was eating up to 6000 calories per day. WAY more calories than I had been eating before, and I was losing weight. This has been proven literally MILLIONS of times in MILLIONS of individuals (no, I do not mean thousands, I do mean MILLIONS) to be true. Try it on yourself! Eat not one gram of carbohydrate for 6 months, but as much protein and fat as you want, and see how much weight you lose. Of course, if you are thin to begin with, you won't lose much, can't lose something if it is not there. I have yet to meet a doctor who does not also agree that an extreme low carb diet will cause weight loss, either, regardless of calories. Most of them ARE against such a diet because a state of ketosis in generally considered to be unhealthy. I also found the diet difficult to stay on because of carb cravings AND expense. Hell, at one time, I was eating 4-5 lbs. of beef every day. Then I had a while of eating up to 3 dozen eggs and about a pound of bacon a day, which was cheaper than the beef, but eggs get really boring really quick. Other problem was bad breath, when you lose weight that fast, your breath gets really bad.

    • @klw3786
      @klw3786 9 лет назад +1

      +Casey Vee Sounds like bullshit even based on the atkins website: For women that range is approximately 1500 to 1800 calories. For men that range is approximately 1800 to 2200 calories per day. Be sure to limit empty calories and follow the acceptable foods list for whichever phase you are currently in.
      Research has shown that on a controlled carbohydrate program, more calories are burned than on a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet, so there is a certain metabolic advantage to the controlled carb approach. But understand that this does not give you a license to gorge.

    • @caseyvee4419

      +Ken Womack I'm not saying it was healthy, but I can tell you again- When I was on low carb, high fat, high protein, I lost weight like crazy. No problems with energy, either, I felt great. BTW- such low carb diets long predate Dr. Atkins. They were first experimented with in the mid 19th century. Another thing I used to do was to eat up to a pint of fresh whipped cream at a time, sweetened with saccharin, along with zero carb gelatin.

      Been on keto for three months. Lost ~10%BF and have thoroughly enjoyed newbie gains doing StrongLifts and eating bacon wrapped mayo dipped in alfredo sauce.
      ...But I eat 500kcal under TDEE every single day. Have not seen a single person saying CICO doesn't apply in any keto blogs, videos, or on reddit.

    • @TheRev1269
      @TheRev1269 8 лет назад

      Except if you look at the real science and stop relying on anecdotal evidence you would understand that that's not the case and also does not even make sense if you understand biological energy systems. Think about it dude, you went keto and lost 30 pounds. Okay great, you also were not able to rule out which variables caused the results and which didn't. Whenever you cut out an entire macronutrients you're going to lose fat because of the calorie deficit.

      +xiaochicash Well, you are definitely doing one thing right, eating eggs. Some argument exists about having the whites raw, as the avidin in them destroys biotin, but overall it is a good thing. Trainer Vince Gironda used to lean guys out by having them eat up to 36 eggs a day. Dave Johns was doing just that when he won the NABBA Mr. Universe contest. High protein, high fat, low carb is the way to build muscle. If you are on drugs of course you will build muscle on about anything within reason.

      nahid falsename I agree that a lot of pre workouts are scams in that they contain a lot of filler and not enough of dosage of the good ingredients. That's not to say that there aren't some out there that are good (I prefer Tier 1), but there's more bad out there than good IMO.

    • @MrRik338

    ***** You are absolutely correct on the side effects of creatine. It also gave me the squirts. I really like the benefits, so I use it. Creatine simply delivers on it's claims. However, if you get the 'micronized' creatine monohydrate, it will likely take of your stomach issues. It took care of mine. No more squirts! Ha! The granules are a lot smaller. The consistency is more like baking soda vs. reg creatine mono is more like table salt. Many companies make it and like Brandon said it's cheap to buy. Just make sure it's pure. No fillers or flavors(just will cost more.) AST is what I have now. You will not find it at walmart. I read about it online and decided to give it a try. Really hope this helps.

    I'm aware of the fact that this video is 7yrs old. However, I agree with everything you said about fat burners, test boosters, but I somewhat agree and disagree about creatine. In my opinion, creatine monohydrate (unflavored powder form) is the best of them all. It's not really cold water soluble, which can be a waste of money and cause digestion issues due to it's byproduct, creatinine. It's best to mix it well with hot water/hot liquid. The sugar, pill and micronised forms of creatine are a complete marketing scam because they do not produce superior results.

      I can see a point of supplementing in some omegas, but that's about it.

    I totally agree with you, Brandon, especially with the creatine part. Pure monohydrate works perfectly, no need for fancy transport systems.

    1. Quality Food/Diet
    Supplements:
    2. Quality Whey Isolate
    3. Casein Protein (for overnight)
    4. Creatine Mono
    Extra:
    5. Complex Carb for recovery (I use Waximaize)

    Your analysis is spot on! The best thing hands down for gains is healthy/proper diet, consistency with workouts, and intensity in your workouts.

    1.Whey protein. 2.pre-workout w/(caffeine, beta-alanine, and creatine phosphate) 3.mass gainer. I've done a lot of research on creatine and found many pros and coins...pros being the strength cell voluminization and size, cons being the muscle cramping, I've read that after 2 months free of creatine monohydrate you start losing some gains, and because I keep hearing no one know the long term. Effects of it...BTW what do you think of creatine hcl

      I don't see a point in other forms of creatine TBH, I haven't seen any actual research to show they're any more benefical than mono

      I use GAT creatine monohydrate, which is 100% pure, and runs for a bout $20-25 for 1000g. Pure creatine mixes well with almost anything, and leaves no noticeable taste.

    1. Animal-pre workout or Starbucks
    2. Gold standard-protein 3 scoops day= around 72 grams

    1.) kre alkalyn it works so well but for what is takes to make it, then charging 8-10 times more per gram than monohydrate is bogus. Considering it’s mainly monohydrate with a cheap buffer..
    2.) test boosters. They work, but the input of money vs the. Out put Is invariable. The 5a hydroxy laxo mixed with a quality booster is better and it increases the effect, but it then makes the product disproportionately more expensive all over again.
    3.) any and all “brain booster “ supplements. I’m open to an educated challenge on this one, but the effect isn’t anything noticeable when I’ve taken them. I have taken brain bridge and the 1st phorm one and its equivalent to the feeling I get with green tea. Thoughts?

    I dropped my body fat percentage from 32% to 20% just by exercising and quiting junk food in 8 months if i tried harder i could have dropped to less than 15% but i just didnt want to push it too hard. I lost almost 30 pounds of fat. I did 1 hour cardio around 4-5 times a week starting with low intensity cardio and gradually increasing in intensity as my body adopted. After 45-50 min of cardio (or sometimes before) I lift weights around 20-30 minutes.

    The big boogeyman of bodybuilding is catabolism. Always hear people telling me to take protein, first thing when i wake up, both pre and post workout and then before bed. And i also read bs that your body will go catabolic if you don't have a constant protein intake every 3 hours.
