Snoa Anime True, but a lot of protein powders and other supplements are crap as well. It’s actually pretty difficult to find something that doesn’t have artificial color, sweeteners, or weird fillers in it. It’s all about being able to read the ingredient list and knowing what’s good quality. Source is key. My multivitamin is organic and completely sourced from real, whole foods. how pre workout feels day 1: meth day 2: adhd meds day 3: 5 hour energy day 4: cup of coffee day 5: flavored water day 6: waste of money day 7: it ain't doing shit, but u take it cause your about to fall asleep midway through a rep of bench
Man, you guys are harsh. He's basically talking to beginner, intermediate type guys who aren't sure of what and what not to buy because they are overwhelmed by the choices (and lets face it, they market especially to these guys)....I actually totally got what he was saying. Get off his ass and start your own channel *and really, a lot of you guys sound like a bunch of trolls talking about his physique.
"he's basically talking to beginner, intermediate type guys". Ok..so what are his degrees in? Does he has a masters in nutrition? When he says one "works". Define "works"? This is dude science and is worthless. He can say "this is what works for ME"...he is telling people what "works" and what "doesn't work" for EVERYONE. You don't have to "start your own channel" and spew more bullshit.
Cheers for this, I have been researching "protein supplement reviews" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Kenaliyah Pumper Practicality - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my co-worker got cool success with it.
having a degree in anything doesn't make you less of a moron, and not having one doesn't mean you are one. "you know what's sad, you wasted $150,000 on an education you coulda got for $1.50 in late fees at the public library.” -matt damon (good will hunting)
I've wasted a lot of money buying stuff that was worthless. I could have used this video info when I started training. I did not know about Beta-alanine until recently. Great vid and you can tell he is an honest guy and cares about getting factual information out there. I stay out of places like GNC. It'll make you go broke trying to find "the magical supplement" cold hard facts are hard to swallow for some. Even harder yet is to swallow some pills that don't work that you spent a fortune on $$$.
Thanks travelcostarica I am new b and 39 I want to shred up a bit but I am on test cypionate from Dr. But I'd like some things that won't harm me but help me with good protein powder
A little amino acid clarity: 1. Creatine - the body will take creatine and combine it with glycogen/salts/water and make ATP, the primary fuel for your muscles. 2. ArginineAKG - the processed form of Arginine. The body will take this amino and create NO when in the presence of Histamine. It dilates your blood vessels. 3. Beta-Alanine - it scrubs out metabolic waste from your synapses, allowing you to lift harder and longer. It has nothing to do with holding onto muscle size. 4. Agmatine - it prolongs the Arg/Histamine pump effect. The body tries to inhibit the pump after a minute or so, and Agmatine counteracts that countering signal. 5. Citrulline - another Arginine precursor. Along with Malic Acid, you get Citrulline Malate, which helps remove lactic acid from muscles. 5. HMB - CalciumBetaHydroxyBetaMethylButyrateMonohydrate. (yeah, my mouth cramps up trying to say it too.) It's a processed form of Leucine, and the body uses it to diminish muscle cannibalism while exercising. 6. Carnitine - When fats are in the blood stream, Carnitine combines with them to transport into muscles to use as a fuel source. 7. Glutamine - %60 of your muscles are made of Glutamine. Pretty important in muscle building.
if i get Citruline (malate or not) should i take arginine too? cause we know citruline is much more efficient at what arginine was supposed to do in the first place , isnt this just throwing money on the weider windows?
i remember watching this when i was in high school, i still use this advice to this day, its a time capsule of nostalgia. what a crazy feeling of the past , love you bro even though ive never met you
Great video, straight to the point. Creatine, whey and pre-workout is all i use. But i have to admit once you on pre-workout it's really hard to come off so people if you never used pre-workout supplements and your training is fine please stay away from that one.
Okay so in a nutshell?? : Protein is good Creatine is good (Casein is good - my opinion before bed) BCAA are useless Pre Workouts won't hurt you and over the top "inferno gainz" wont hurt you and may help a little okay sorted
J. Garcia It's better to buy a giant pack of oats, drinking soda for carbs is one of the worst things you can do. You really don't want to be in taking pure glucose.
I got extra 15 kgs in 4 months, it might be fats mostly but my body was very thin and I got bulky and I don't look fat at all I just got bigger attributes all over my body parts.
Everyone's body is different also, mass gainer is a beneficiary, all he was saying that it would be smarter to buy it in bulk for a lower price, otherwise you are just wasting your money and it would probably be more efficient and even cheaper to make your own, don't hate us because you ain't us ;P
I have an MS in Human Nutrition, am working on my PhD and I teach a university level course in nutritional biochemistry. For what its worth, this is some of the most responsible nutritional supplement advice I've heard on youtube so far. Reading through his responses to your criticisms, his viewpoint holds up well. There is so much misinformation out there and, especially when working with isolated substances, much of it is far from benign. Your liver has to process all these supplements. Plus, when you throw an abundance of one amino in, it can dominate the receptor blocking other aminos from entering. If something isn't proven essential to your goal, this is actually good news. I would trust what this guy has to say. Kudos, man. Truly impressed.
"Eat food, get a gym membership, that's all you need" AMEN - people rely too much on supplementation of EVERYthing in life! "Veinyness" --- aka vascularity? lol
Mass gainers do work.. but it's a waste of money. You can make it at home with milk.. protein powder... bananas... peanut butter... oats. Blend that shit up and boom. Or just eat mcds to get huge! lol!
- Whey Isolate, to hit that anabolic 48 hour window with a lot of protein - Fish Oil, almost mandatory - Creatine, will help you do weight that you hit 4-5 reps, you could probably get 7 - Pre-work Out, vasodialators will help you with in workout pumps and will get your heart rate going, it helps with calories - Glutamine, I believe you can cycle glutamine to get its benefits. It will harden your muscles up because I believe it's the only protein which your body stores like carbs in muscles. Take concentrated glutamine and once it's done wait about a month and buy some more. Fat Burners don't hurt if you want to hit those calories. Fat burners don't burn fat but they make you use calories you digest as energy instead of storing as fat. They feed your body calories quicker.
Didn't you already post this video 3 hours ago or so? My supplements (All prices are including taxes): - Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein Powder ($75 = 5ilb) - AllMax Nutrition 100% Pure Micronized Creatine Powder ($15 = 400g) - GNC Omega-3 Fish Body Oil ($15 = 180 softgels - 500mg combined EPA / DHA per softgel) - Multi-vitamin / General vitamins
he's absolutely right about pre work out... once you take them you get hooked. and you can never imagine yourself working out with out it. id recommend people don't get dependent on it.
+Nick Hersheys Really that depends on how much you're getting. Its hard to get whey protein in a 2kg or so bag without paying atleast 30-40$ regardless of the brand.
Good video dude, you earned a new Sub. I came into this not knowing how knowledgeable you would be in this but you know you're shit so I was not disappointed.
Mo Maghsoudi Go look it up, and try it yourself, are you that lazy that you need me to do your homework for you. In college do they do your homework for you when asked to research a matter.
this is all true, this is all exactly true. gainers and pure protein is ALL you need, PreWorkout is cool, Creatine is Ok...everything else is the slag. or only offers minute results. its cool to experiment though, Right now am taking an estrogen blocker, not sure if its gonna work am expecting some results
SoldierCyfix Maybe estrogen blocker with testosterone booster, and you would see a definite change. Then again I would be very careful stepping into that. You'd be playing with your brain chemistry and it could have definite changes on your mood and personality.
SoldierCyfix glutamine an bcaas r a must promotes an speeds up protein synthesis.. ANYTHING WITH CALORIES IS THIS GUY A SUMO WRESTLER AN BCAAS HAVE CALORIES
I think a lot of you guys have it mixed up, in regards to what he's saying about protein supplements and amino acid supplements. Yes, amino acids are legitimate, but if you are eating enough protein then you don't need to worry that much about having pre, intra, or post workout amino acids. As a supplement, it really is useless... Take that $39.99 you drop on aminos and just get another tub of protein or something.
Thanks!! Love seeing thoughts on supplements. I couldn't agree more...funny how at the end of the day..eating clean..lifting heavy..and drinking water is basically all you need. Thanks for sharing!!
creatine monohydrate fills your muscles with water that is what it does. My top supplements are: 1. BCAA 2.Creatine 3. Fish Oil 4. Glutamine 5.ZMA (it does not increase the testosterone levels but it makes u sleep better it is good for your brain, bones so i like taking it Zinc+Magnesium) You dont need protein protein it is waste of money what is the point of takin protein if you can eat mean eggs etc.. pretty much you guys should take things that are hard to take from food protein is not one of them.
+Mitchell Johnston I take this shit religiously now, laid off of it for a minute and I can tell the difference, 1st time I took it, I had some pain in my elbow, it went straight to the source, helped with the healing process, definite good deep sleep, and morning wood, some things work for some people vice versa.
+Nikolay Lozev I agree and dissagree with you, agree on the fact that if you can replace protein shakes with real food (eggs, chicken etc). absolutely do it. A Protein shake contains about 25-30 grams of protein depending on the type, an egg contains about 7. One egg. Means you would need to eat about 10-15 eggs a day. I'd rather have my protein shake thank you.
This im sure of, the VAST majority of people (especially in the USA) should not supplement with Omega 6. Omega 3 is only what u need. Omega 6 is so much more prevalent in so many foods we eat a ton of anyway, we certainly don't need to supplement them. Not only is it unnecessary, its counter productive. Omega 6 competes with 3 and 3 is the one with all the wonderful benefits, mainly anti inflammation and the proliferation of stored bodyfat as fuel. Use omega 3 only.
I am flabbergasted you didnt mention multi vitamin, its extremely useful if you dont have the time to cook and prep every little nutrient into your diet
Great video. Been lifting for almost twenty years. I've been preaching the same info to other people who keep wasting their money on junk. I subscribed and been getting others to also. Thanks nick.
When you said don't spend no more then $10 for Creatine Monohydrate, which amount are you talking about? 300 grams, 500 grams or 1000 grams in a container? I can't find a 1000 (200 servings) grams of Creatine for less than $10.
this is the type of info the average man needs. I've tried p6 extreme, the black, all kinds of test boosters, mass gainers,...whatever. Creatine is by far the best sup ive used. I'm 43 and I can say I wish I woulda known about creatine 20 years ago. thanks for telling the truth
I'm 5'9 after a couple weeks in the gym, literally everyday, I weigh around 162 lbs now but I've kind of been stuck there and it's worrying me and I naturally can't eat that much any advice on easy foods to munch on? I'm trying to get to 200+ lbs and then cut to about 185-190 to shed the fat. Any help would be great $
Alejandro Gomez are you trying to bulk or what? If that's the case then look into boosting your daily calories with a mass gainer shake. I like pro complex gainer from optimum. It's got enough calories to make you gain weight but not too much where you'll be putting crazy fat on. It's not too pricey either. www.samedaysupplements.com/optimum-nutrition-pro-complex-gainer-db-chocolate-5-08lb.html
You're going to have to FORCE yourself to eat more. That's the part about bulking. Count every calorie. Try going up to 3,500-4,000 a day. That's what I'm taking in now and I'm bulking. Mass gainers help too, I get 1,200 calories off mine. Very cheap too! Pasta! Load it with grated cheese if you like that for some extra calories. You wanna be a lean 185-190 pounder? Yeah, that's years of hard work/dedication. Also, you're going to need elite genetics for that at your height. If you're 5'9 162 and a beginner, I'm guessing you're skinny-fat. That means you'll need to put on at LEAST 40lbs of muscle to be a 190 pound lean guy. 40lbs of muscle is ridiculous. Make small goals.
I'll list all of the phrases all the guys who have lifted for years will laugh about: "after a couple of weeks in the gym" "literally every day" "I naturally can't eat that much" You don't gain 40lbs overnight. Especially when you're a small guy to start with. Prep your meals, make sure you have 2g of protein for every lb you way and lift big. There are no short cuts. And more is definitely not best. I'm a "hard gainer". To get to 220lbs from natural 190lbs, I went down to 3 sessions a week. Barbell only. Deads, Squats, Bench and weighted pull ups. Slow your sessions down and make sure you rest to overload your muscles with weight..
If you have the money, you can get the same benefits from a good grocery store. Pre-workout, espresso, oatmeal a banana and a asprin. Creatine-a pound of lean steak a day. Protein-take your pick tuna, chicken, beef, eggs, etc. Weight gainer-vitamin D milk nut butters. Pain killer and sleep aid-2 shots jack daniels.
why waist all this money on whey and mass gainers which off most are full of sugar if you can make clean shakes at home example of my shake 600ml whole milk, 150gr of oatmeal, fruit like berries and maybe a tablespoon of peanutbutter it's about 1100 cal 60/70gr protein 150gr carbs and about 20gr fat, all depends what you in it and the amounts off course AND IT'S WAY CHEAPER !!!!!
jasondc22 25 grams from the oats, 20 grams of protein from the milk.. peanut butter is about 10 grams, and then fruits and vegetables make up between in 10-20 before going and trying to make someone feel stupid do some simple math, but i guess thats beyond you, so I simplified it and broke it down for you and the 7 idiots that liked your comment
EXACTLY, you need to drink at least double the amount of water you were drinking... Creatine supplementation demands at least 8 glasses of water a day PLUS more water during your workout. Try it out again and see bro! You'll succeed...
I was drinking around 1.5 gallons a day and still am. I swapped out for a different creatine and not mono and have seen results. I will stick to that one over mono.
Creatine supplementation laid waste to my kidneys, just can't use it. Am fine apart from that and kidney function is usually fine but just goes to show we're all very different people.
For protein powder I use Isoflex. Better quality than Gold Standard, even more it's a little more money. I no longer use pre-workout formulas. Instead, I just take Citrulline and Agmatine. Gives a great pump. Citrulline is also good for blood flow and lowers blood pressure.
The sad truth about this video and kid, he's only been doing this for several years now and has become an expert.. The saddest thing, having access to all those supplements, yet have the physique he does. Damn, this is like listening to the guy behind the counter at GNC that doesn't even lift. SMDH
He said he is off season that's why plus it could have something to do with with genetics tbh he said something about how it didn't work for him so he using a new method called power lifting either way I wish him well he deserves it
If you are a young adult who runs track, football, basketball, and etc. in high school. Pre-workout will help you like at a track meet or other, like C4 50x will give you a lot of energy. But its drawbacks are that makes your heart start beating hard (so bad hearts beware), if you take to much the tingling makes you feel itchy and even can make you feel even more tired. But if you find your right dose like recommended (C4 50x) is one scoop. Personally I like 3/4 of a scoop, also if you are in high school or competition check the rules some states banned its use in high school competition sports.
I personally take BCAA's because the time of day that I workout varies and also the time of day and my protein intake also vary. Sometimes I workout on a near empty stomach and sometimes I go hours after workout where I don't have the time or ability to easily ingest calories and protein. If my work and life schedule didn't vary to the degree that they do, or I couldn't afford the BCAA's, I wouldn't take them. The problem is a lot of people don't understand why or when they may or may not need supplements. Best advice is do research on ANYTHING before you spend money.
@@emperadorzar2023 drink whey protein? shits only good for stressing your kidneys and making you fat...i eat boiled eggs and fish and build only muscle...protein powders are useless
BCAA's are incredibly helpful, especially when cutting. They are burned as a fuel source during intense workout sessions instead of your body breaking down your muscles and using them as a source for fuel. This is once again, when cutting and you are in a carb depleted state! Exercise Science Nutrition double major
There is a difference between bodybuilders and powerlifters. You do not need to look jacked to be able to lift alot of weight. You do not need to look ripped to know your shit. This guy knows his shit, period. He is not "fat".
Would not say that Creatine is good, it gives you too much water in your muscles. Then you look like a waterboy like that guy in the video. Bloated water bulges.
The guy in the video doesn't look like that because of creatine. lol He's got a high BF% because he's bulking. I can actually say that I look more ripped since I started taking creatine, reason being that I gained strength which made my workouts more effective. Don't talk crap about stuff you don't know.
dante`afk Hahaha I agree, A beginner Martial Artist would destroy this guy anyways back on topic, Creatine does give you an upper edge when it comes to strength. You can make your own pre workout, (Herbert voice from family guy) But if you really wanna get high, I'd get NO Xplode lol Aminos as well but that's just me, it gives me energy to finish sparring sessions and those long endurance/strength training sessions.
Tanner Pontius that doesn't mean we need even more water in there bro. our bodies are a large majority water too.. But have you ever seen someone who is retaining water due to a medical condition? Not good. Not one bit. The body has as much water as is needed, doesn't mean we need to make it hold more via artificial methods. And for what? I know creatine is well researched, but if people are completely honest.. They'll admit that when they STOP they're creatine cycle.. They lost a butt load of water weight.
Need more guy like this no BS just straight up honest he talks from his own experience, thanks for saving my money 💰 pre-workout? i just need some hardcore workout music.
I studied biology and i got stunned when you started talking about amino acids .. they are the base for your proteins when your body wanna build them. I personally started gym a week ago and i did a test that resulted in me having 12% body fat and beyond normal muscle mass. so im kinda athletic. so when i started my coach told me that you can buy Nitro Tech and Amino Acids because i told him i dont really wanna get that big or gain much weight, i just wanna get more shredded and look fit. what do you think ?
nitro tech is the biggest scam artist over hyped company out there...the bottom line is u dont need any supps. if u wanna spend hundreds a month for a 1% advantage u can. 1% is alot to a top athlete but to a regular person its not even noticeable and its expensive. all the people whove been.lifting for yrs we all went through the first yrs when u think theres some secret supp thats gonna blow u up and u spend a small fortune tryin everything. dont do it. a good protein shake for convenience if u cant get enough food in is about anything rhats.worth anything..but a whole food meal is superior to that period. dont waste ur money on gimmicks to learn food is the.ticket
as i said protein is about the only thing worth anything. however i suggest u check online. u can get great bulk deals for prolly a quarter of the price for the same thing. dont go to stores and pay there overhead plus the advertising costs of store brands. find out what kind of protein u want. whey concentrate is totally fine and by far the cheapest. however if u have a problem with lactose u may have to go the whey isolate route so ur not crappin out ur protein and gassey. u can prolly get 5 to 10 pds for the dame price u pay for 2pds from the store
+Black Ops Classified And Stuff im not living in a place where i can access that easily, but for being in the gym for the first time, i guess i learned. I ll be im America next winter so that's a thing to keep in mind when im buying supplements. But tbh Nitro Tech helped a lot.
On Citrulline Malate - "It's not going to lead to muscular hypertrophy", but "it CAN lead to cell volumization" Do you know what hypertrophy is by DEFINITION? Please.
#1: A 24$ batch of Kre Alkalyn from true athlete adds up to 200 servings, a 24$ batch of creatine mono from ON adds up to a 120 servings. #2: Kre Alkalyn is specialized to prevent any nasty side effects that mono has (ex. liver/kidney damage, cramps, etc.) #3: Don't make assumptions if you haven't even tried it. I managed to bring up my squat by 20 in a week and a half and my two friends that also take it brought up their bench by 10 in a week. Also, none of us had to go through a loading process.
i never meant to say its better (even though i did sorta say it was). i just wanted to prove that Kre isn't a waste of money. And the one i take is from true athlete, you can find it in vitamin shoppe and its in powder form not capsules.
Yes, but they are what protein is made of. So I technically said them, when I listed protein in the beginning. Going beyond your daily protein intake and buying free form aminos isn't too necessary IMO
I agree BCAAS are great, protein gets broken down to amino acids so id say its up there with creatine. I use creatine, BCAAs, protein and a multivitamin as i believe fully in them after doing a lot of research
ryan clarke And you get same amino acids in complete protein foods like milk, egg, chicken, beef. Unless you are fasting, I don't see a point in taking BCAAs, shit is rediculous. And Glutamine, yeah unless you suffer from a trauma, you need glutamine. But it wont build jack shit if you are already consuming big amounts of protein.
Brucho Sindicate its an intra workout supplement, i'm not going to eat chicken or cottage cheese during a workout lol. Our bodies need to break down protein into amino acids before using them. It tastes nice and i'm doing better in the gum even if its just the placebo effect
ryan clarke Take a pre-workout if you want to do better in the gym, it will give you actual energy. Your body doesn't repair/rebuild your muscle during it's breakdown (workout) BCAAs though can give you a little bit of energy, that's what you are feeling most likely, but still, pre or a cup of coffee would be more effective.
Brucho Sindicate yeah am tempted to get a pre-workout. Its the health issues that scare me with those. Some of them are apparently like cocain :-D I can imagine some good workouts on one though haha. My bcaas im using is costing me £20 for 30 servings so a bit pricey may swap for a pre workout when i run out and see how i feel
***** or just eat properly properly and time your meals properly so it's probably digested and just mentally prepare yourself to go in there and fucking wreck shit!
Old video but the pump is necessary! Shows that the muscle been flooded with fresh blood and nutrients. Whenever I trained for strength never got big. As soon as I started working for the pump I started getting huge
This is one of the worst RUclips advice videos and here's why: You've entitled your video with 'The Good, The Bad & The Useless' yet, there was no 'bad' supplements stated, you've just stated the good and the useless. so stop using false titles to look 'Hollywoodish' and attract kids. Furthermore, your video is a total waste to time, because you haven't cleared out whether your advice was based on personal experiences or science. It was lost between the two, you gave advice based on personal experiences that contradicts with what researches say, and in the mean time, you recommended what researches say. So, what exactly are you endorsing? If you're telling us what worked for you based on experiences, thats fine, but that video is bullcrap then, because placebo effect might have worked like magic. yet, the supplements you bashed had 0 scientific evidence to prove how useless they were. (while I do agree with some of what you've bashed.) lets go to the funny part then, you've recommended/support L-citruline. but hey, you said two false/incomplete information: 1- research shows L-citruline is effective only at high dosages, and supports strength, however, the recommended amount so it works is high that the consumer WILL have stomachache. the amount of L-citruline in ALL of the supplements is way less than the 'sweetspot' that works. 2- you've correlated L-citruline to bigger pumps and veins only. that's wrong, the theory behind 'pumps and veins, widening the vessels' is to help push nutrients through the blood vessels to reach the muscles, hence, faster growth. all this is in theory, that supplement BS amplify to market and sell with false advertising, yet, Nick Wright is doing these liars a favor. Nick, at least next time decide on what basis you're giving your opinion, because it's a waste of time for us.
Nick Wright, is ANIMAL a good supplement brand or am I wasting my time and money with it? I have been taking it for like 5 or 6 months now, and have maybe mild results. Nothing radical. I have only been working out since January, so like 10 - 11 months. I am 6' 3", 248 pounds, only 17% body fact BCA. I work out with strength 3 days per week, and cardiovascular 3 days per week, but not on the same day. I do strength 1 day, cardio 1 day, and rest for 1 day. My workout time ranges from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. What am I doing wrong? I curl now at 65 pounds each dumb bell, and bench 280. I run like 3 - 4 miles per week. Am I screwing something up? Please help me out man. And thank you.
Animal is good, depending on what are you talking about. They joint supplements and vitamin supplements are good. Animal flex, which is the joint one, helped me a lot personally. To get more results, train more. I train each body part twice a week + some HIIT after workouts. Good gains so far. Also Nick, the thing about BCAAs, they do not work for you that well, but for some people, like me, they work really well. Do not generalize too much, some people say whey is useless because they can get all their proteins easily from food. My friend is a body builder and all he takes are vitamins and BCAAs and he swears by them. Overall, good video
I have Animal PAK, Animal FLEX, Animal Pump, and Animal STAK.My post workout is whey-a-bolic x.o. w/ Amino Acid formula. I used to drink Creatine, but stopped. Is creatine that great?
Wilton King i personally would not take stak and pump, but that is your choice. Creatin is the most researched supplement there. It is cheap and it works. I'm cutting and I'm creatin and I would not say it makes you bloated or anything. I would recommend it because as I said, it works and does not burn a hole into your wallet
Vicarious JT, let me explode then. I also take Muscle Pharm (MP) formulas for pre-workout and post, and I have very recently tried the Arnold formula pack.
True. My weight fluxes between 245 - 255. I can never tell if it is muscle or fat that I keep losing. Waterweight though, most definitely. Especially when I workout lower body and don't take creatine. I just need better tips is all honestly.
from a gym mouse perspective. my top supps when on a cut are 1.on protien 2.on amino energy 3.scivation extend bcaa's 4.multi vitamins, etc. 5.masturbation mass gainers are op as shit. creatine made me put on 20lbs in 3 weeks. I pissed every hour when I thru that garbage away. pre workouts are also op grabage. just go buy caffeine pills or a cup of coffee.
What are the downsides/cons of taking supplements? Even if your not a real athlete it can be still a good addition to your diet and it cant really do harm right?
1. whey
2. creatine
3. vitamin d3
4. fish oils
5. one a day multi
6. beta alanine
7. citruline malate
1-4 = a must, 5-7 = optional
I would suggest taking bromelein and mixed digestive enzymes, with b complex.
Creatine is a “must” but a multivitamin isn’t? You’re mistaken
@@HollerAtcherBoi that cuz most multi vitamins are just fake n useless

Shut the fuck up dumb fuck is information sucks
I agree
how pre workout feels
day 1: meth
day 2: adhd meds
day 3: 5 hour energy
day 4: cup of coffee
day 5: flavored water
day 6: waste of money
day 7: it ain't doing shit, but u take it cause your about to fall asleep midway through a rep of bench

having a degree in anything doesn't make you less of a moron, and not having one doesn't mean you are one.
A little amino acid clarity:
That GAT Nitraflex is no fucking joke. I went up 25 lbs on my bench. It gives you a good kick in the gym.

homemade prework out: D-Amphetamine salt combo (adderal) + a cigarette. you're good to go!
Reginald Cuftbert this guy knows a thing or two ☝🏻
Coffee has always been my preworkout.
Thanks for letting us know :)
thats the only pre work out that people should use. People rather digest things that don't belong in their bodies tho..
coffee make me wanna take a shit
marco garcia me too, I use it as my pre-shit supplement in the morning- very effective!
Mine too
Okay so in a nutshell?? :
Protein is good
Creatine is good
(Casein is good - my opinion before bed)
BCAA are useless
Pre Workouts won't hurt you
and over the top "inferno gainz" wont hurt you and may help a little
okay sorted

I'd cut back on the mass gainer, you don't need it.
Haseeebo
Just cheaper to drink soda for the extra carbs.
J. Garcia It's better to buy a giant pack of oats, drinking soda for carbs is one of the worst things you can do. You really don't want to be in taking pure glucose.
Dude, this video kickstarted my fitness journey/ passion 8+ years ago.
Thanks man.
i've looked at the whole video...
now i'm wondering, should i trust you?
da , crede l
Don't take caffeine Anhydrous the day you're planning to have sex. That shit embarrassed me.
I'm forever alone so no worries for me
Why what happened? Lol
Dabket3araB lol damn that sucks! Oh well at least you learned what not to do
the only preworkout I take is coffee.
+Jared Veilnamel 100% coffee is all I need
True! That's my pre workout too
+Jared Veilnamel Im about to start doing this because i feel like my preworkout is causing me to break out on my face.
I actually tried serious mass gainer, and it worked for me, so!
No
Calories worked for you, the mass gainer assisted you with calories.
It's not a mass gainer it should be called belly gainer .
Great video. This can't be said enough. Had I've known this earlier, I'd have saved about 400 bucks on t-boosters and crap like that.
Exactly!
INB4 nick gets sued by Layne Norton for throwing tub of Xtend across the room
Always good to hear natural bodybuilders who actually speaks sense! great video with great advice, thumbs up
"Eat food, get a gym membership, that's all you need" AMEN - people rely too much on supplementation of EVERYthing in life! "Veinyness" --- aka vascularity? lol
I don't take supplements because they help, I take them because I like how they taste. The fact that they help is only a bonus for bulking.
How they taste? If you want chocolate flavor, just use cocoa... Why use whey just for flavor?
I get strawberry milkshake flavor :p and other goodie sweets like banana pudding
Where did your traps go?
I lift things up and put them down.
Great advise Nick! Straight to the point, no BS! Cheers!
Mass gainers do work.. but it's a waste of money. You can make it at home with milk.. protein powder... bananas... peanut butter... oats. Blend that shit up and boom. Or just eat mcds to get huge! lol!
- Whey Isolate, to hit that anabolic 48 hour window with a lot of protein
- Fish Oil, almost mandatory
- Creatine, will help you do weight that you hit 4-5 reps, you could probably get 7
- Pre-work Out, vasodialators will help you with in workout pumps and will get your heart rate going, it helps with calories
- Glutamine, I believe you can cycle glutamine to get its benefits.

***** Amazon.ca is even more expensive at $79.69 (not including taxes / shipping)
he's absolutely right about pre work out... once you take them you get hooked. and you can never imagine yourself working out with out it. id recommend people don't get dependent on it.
Amino acids never made sense to me they cost a shit load and you already get them in protein powder anyway at a 75% discount.
Absorbtion. BCAA = 1-5 minutes, proteinpowder = 20-30 minutes.
You can find a few protein powders that offer just as many Amino Acids as a BCAA supplement. I just see it as a waste of money.
If it costs more than $20, don't buy it. It's mostly designer bullshit. Hope that helps :)
+Nick Hersheys Really that depends on how much you're getting. Its hard to get whey protein in a 2kg or so bag without paying atleast 30-40$ regardless of the brand.
Good video dude, you earned a new Sub. I came into this not knowing how knowledgeable you would be in this but you know you're shit so I was not disappointed.
agree 100% just a note: with the shakes its not food, so you get in the same nutrients, but with less fiber and that's the only thing to bear in mind.
Glutamine works. This guy is not that well researched. Joint supplements are a waste.
Do you have a study (written) about glutamine?
wut u talk about glutamine is make your muscle stay in same size Bro
Broscience to the max. Im just asking for a study that I can read. That's all.
Mo Maghsoudi
Go look it up, and try it yourself, are you that lazy that you need me to do your homework for you. In college do they do your homework for you when asked to research a matter.
your right. glutamine does work
this is all true, this is all exactly true.
gainers and pure protein is ALL you need, PreWorkout is cool, Creatine is Ok...everything else is the slag. or only offers minute results.
its cool to experiment though, Right now am taking an estrogen blocker, not sure if its gonna work am expecting some results
Amazing video! Lots of info and very well explained! Thank you, Nick!!!
What do you take creatine with? Water Gatorade juice ice tea, apple juice milk ?? What do u take with it?
guy reminds me of adam from workaholics
What about arginine supplements nick wright ?? I don't actually know if they are working,I have never tried them so far...
creatine monohydrate fills your muscles with water that is what it does. My top supplements are:
1. BCAA
2.Creatine
3. Fish Oil
4. Glutamine
5.ZMA (it does not increase the testosterone levels but it makes u sleep better it is good for your brain, bones so i like taking it Zinc+Magnesium)
You dont need protein protein it is waste of money what is the point of takin protein if you can eat mean eggs etc..
pretty much you guys should take things that are hard to take from food protein is not one of them.
I took ZMA a few months ago and it did nothing. Do you have to take them consistently? There 80 bucks for a month cycle so i stopped buying them.
+Mitchell Johnston I take this shit religiously now, laid off of it for a minute and I can tell the difference, 1st time I took it, I had some pain in my elbow, it went straight to the source, helped with the healing process, definite good deep sleep, and morning wood, some things work for some people vice versa.
+Nikolay Lozev he russian, gotta listen to him
+Nikolay Lozev no protein shakes, no wonder you small as fuck boy look at that picture
Thanks nick.
u look like u never been to the gym at all
When you said don't spend no more then $10 for Creatine Monohydrate, which amount are you talking about? 300 grams, 500 grams or 1000 grams in a container? I can't find a 1000 (200 servings) grams of Creatine for less than $10.
man, why this dude always in off-season?
Rutam Mokashi
+Ray Rocco think he does powerlifting nowadays
this is the type of info the average man needs.
Any help would be great $
Bump protein up take in more calories and work hard.
Yeah try human growth hormone or testosterone booster, or give steroids a shot, hahaha, yeah why not?
I'll list all of the phrases all the guys who have lifted for years will laugh about:
"after a couple of weeks in the gym"
"literally every day"
"I naturally can't eat that much"
You don't gain 40lbs overnight.
Why do you use Synthol ? it looks fake and bad dude
George Ellas he didnt use synthol hes not that big
i have just bought "super mega ultra XXXplosion mass" is it good?
why waist all this money on whey and mass gainers which off most are full of sugar if you can make clean shakes at home
example of my shake 600ml whole milk, 150gr of oatmeal, fruit like berries and maybe a tablespoon of peanutbutter
it's about 1100 cal 60/70gr protein 150gr carbs and about 20gr fat, all depends what you in it and the amounts off course
AND IT'S WAY CHEAPER !!!!!
I literally JUST said all of that at 1:28........
nick wright
yeah i know sry bud started writing in the beginning lol
ebaybusiness87 Where do the 60/70 gr of protein come from?
jasondc22 25 grams from the oats, 20 grams of protein from the milk.. peanut butter is about 10 grams, and then fruits and vegetables make up between in 10-20 before going and trying to make someone feel stupid do some simple math, but i guess thats beyond you, so I simplified it and broke it down for you and the 7 idiots that liked your comment
stfu already u said like a mom
What supplements do you take on a daily basis? And can you take creatine and whey proteins together?
This dude on like 1 tub of mono creatine a day! Look at that arm definition
you forgot to say "no homo"
Buy Arnold's iron pump pre workout... No creatine and it works wonders
inb4 max chewning
Read a couple comments. Glad to hear that his expertise is brought into question. Kind of young to be saying he knows so much about everything.
the supplements don't seem to be working for you
Whey protein, creatine, and multi vitamins that include fish oil and joint support.
I tried using mono and it sucked! It gave me so many stomach issues like you wouldn't believe.
Ignitionnet I agree. I switched to micronized creatine which is essentially mono just the crystals are refined more so doesn't cause stomach issues
JFresh1520
Yes, me too!! That's what I'm using, that's prolly WHY I don't get the stomach upset!
SMDH
He said he is off season that's why plus it could have something to do with with genetics tbh he said something about how it didn't work for him so he using a new method called power lifting either way I wish him well he deserves it
+MrEyethautunew What do you mean "yet have the physique he does?" Looks good to me.
You've contradicted yourself that many times It makes me question how much you actually know?
I personally take BCAA's because the time of day that I workout varies and also the time of day and my protein intake also vary. Sometimes I workout on a near empty stomach and sometimes I go hours after workout where I don't have the time or ability to easily ingest calories and protein. If my work and life schedule didn't vary to the degree that they do, or I couldn't afford the BCAA's, I wouldn't take them. The problem is a lot of people don't understand why or when they may or may not need supplements. Best advice is do research on ANYTHING before you spend money.
I was on board until he said "amino acids are pretty much useless"
Oh boy...
if you drink whey protein you don't need bcaa

Dude, do you even take creatine ?
The guy in the video doesn't look like that because of creatine. lol He's got a high BF% because he's bulking. I can actually say that I look more ripped since I started taking creatine, reason being that I gained strength which made my workouts more effective. Don't talk crap about stuff you don't know.
Tanner Pontius In case you thought I was talking to you, I wasn't haha. My comment was directed at the OP. I agree with what you said though.
dante`afk Hahaha I agree, A beginner Martial Artist would destroy this guy anyways back on topic, Creatine does give you an upper edge when it comes to strength.
You can make your own pre workout, (Herbert voice from family guy) But if you really wanna get high, I'd get NO Xplode lol
Aminos as well but that's just me, it gives me energy to finish sparring sessions and those long endurance/strength training sessions.
No delts? Unsubbed.
+Black Ops Classified And Stuff but i was told to take it because i wanted a shake with low fat in it. I just wanted protein
as i said protein is about the only thing worth anything. however i suggest u check online. u can get great bulk deals for prolly a quarter of the price for the same thing. dont go to stores and pay there overhead plus the advertising costs of store brands. find out what kind of protein u want. whey concentrate is totally fine and by far the cheapest. however if u have a problem with lactose u may have to go the whey isolate route so ur not crappin out ur protein and gassey. u can prolly get 5 to 10 pds for the dame price u pay for 2pds from the store
+Black Ops Classified And Stuff im not living in a place where i can access that easily, but for being in the gym for the first time, i guess i learned.
I ll be im America next winter so that's a thing to keep in mind when im buying supplements.
But tbh Nitro Tech helped a lot.
What about steroids do they work?
Trenbolone will change your life ;D
Test 500 mgs a week for 12 weeks and Winnie for 8wks , run with aromosin and clom and nolvadex for pct, best starter cycle
nick has done dbol and test
Yes they do. They will fuck you up as well if you get the good stuff
On Citrulline Malate - "It's not going to lead to muscular hypertrophy", but "it CAN lead to cell volumization"
Do you know what hypertrophy is by DEFINITION? Please.
kre alkalyn creatine from true athlete is good stuff
If you enjoy paying way more than regular creatine monohydrate with no advantages.
#1: A 24$ batch of Kre Alkalyn from true athlete adds up to 200 servings, a 24$ batch of creatine mono from ON adds up to a 120 servings.
#2: Kre Alkalyn is specialized to prevent any nasty side effects that mono has (ex. liver/kidney damage, cramps, etc.)
#3: Don't make assumptions if you haven't even tried it.
It's good to hear this point of view as he is a published biochemical engineer.
Agree except Aminos are HUGE in my book, far more important than BS preworkout
Yes, but they are what protein is made of. So I technically said them, when I listed protein in the beginning. Going beyond your daily protein intake and buying free form aminos isn't too necessary IMO
nick wright What about the "Fat burners"
Mögelkryddan G fat burners have stimulants them so you could use them to help create your own pre-work out?
Would...
1. Burger King Whoppers.
2. Mountain Dew.
3. Testosterone Cypionate.
be a good supplement mix?
not gonna take advice from a man that doesnt know how to train his shoulders
Ikr
I can honestly say what helped me was added doses of BCAA with my Isolate Whey protein
BCAAS USELESS LOL DIDNT TOUCH ON GLUTAMINE..... IM SURE YOUR OPINION WILL CHANGE AS YOU GROW.
PREACHING HALF ASSED INFO TO THE PPL
Man youtube folks forget that it takes time to make this vids especially with good info. Thanks Nick Wright
why are you trying to make your voice sound deeper.. just talk normal dude
Hypergamy USA he's just talking loudly
keep making videos!! youre great at explaining and i love the analogies. SUBSCRIBED
YES you need pre workout / energy drink, it makes working out soo much easier or motivates you
***** or just eat properly properly and time your meals properly so it's probably digested and just mentally prepare yourself to go in there and fucking wreck shit!
preworkouts are a waste of oney just go into a pharmacy and ask for caffeeine pills youll get enough energy out of that
***** don't be a wise ass. I'm just saying if you need a pre workout to motivate you, you shouldn't be in the gym period.
Preworkouts just give me that extra rep but it doesn't motivate me at all.
***** cuz im a boss
Old video but the pump is necessary! Shows that the muscle been flooded with fresh blood and nutrients. Whenever I trained for strength never got big. As soon as I started working for the pump I started getting huge
i can't understand why people who look like shit like that can pretend to advise people about fitness....
The dudes information is sound and he is offering many ways to save money. Much appreciated.
This is one of the worst RUclips advice videos and here's why:
You've entitled your video with 'The Good, The Bad & The Useless' yet, there was no 'bad' supplements stated, you've just stated the good and the useless. so stop using false titles to look 'Hollywoodish' and attract kids.
(while I do agree with some of what you've bashed.)
lets go to the funny part then, you've recommended/support L-citruline. but hey, you said two false/incomplete information: 1- research shows L-citruline is effective only at high dosages, and supports strength, however, the recommended amount so it works is high that the consumer WILL have stomachache. the amount of L-citruline in ALL of the supplements is way less than the 'sweetspot' that works.
Do not generalize too much, some people say whey is useless
because they can get all their proteins easily from food.
I just need better tips is all honestly.
this guy is not even big
K. lol
from a gym mouse perspective. my top supps when on a cut are
1.on protien
2.on amino energy
3.scivation extend bcaa's
4.multi vitamins, etc.
5.masturbation
mass gainers are op as shit. creatine made me put on 20lbs in 3 weeks. I pissed every hour when I thru that garbage away. pre workouts are also op grabage. just go buy caffeine pills or a cup of coffee.
BCAAs are very good for cutting, they help to preserve your muscles by not allowing it to go into catabolic state.
"I've been using a mass gainer for about 4 or 5 years now?" NO SHIT
What are the downsides/cons of taking supplements? Even if your not a real athlete it can be still a good addition to your diet and it cant really do harm right?
Everyone hating on you because the way you talk but they should be greatful you're sharing your knowledge on supplements to help us...
