    Wawrinka was doing a similar type serve and much simpler too. He moves his back leg to front around the same time of tossing.

      pretty the same serve, its kind of a trend for good servers

    • @frankpiccione8571

      @damirvaleev1293 What is distinctive in Fritz's serve is that he has the racquet on his right side adjacent to service line- on edge with the strings facing front and back to court.. He then lifts the racquet behind him with platform stance and turns his shoulder and drives up to ball. A lot of players dont really serve this way.
      Federer had his strings facing to ground and sky and had an open faced racquet drop. Medevev's has more of a 45 degree angle with his racquet on his side. They are many players who lift their racquet towards their head like they are saluting in the Army and do the so called knock the hat off your head. Fritz does not do any of these things. .look at his serve in slow motion. I have to study Sinners serve more thouroughy to compare it to Fritz.
      Anyway, Nick said more than once he will do a video analysis of Fritz's serve. Now that the tennis season is just about over, maybe Nick will find time to actually do this. Is that right-Nick???😊🎾

      @@damirvaleev1293 Looking further at Sinner's serve - I would agree that it is similar to Fritz- except Fritz has platform stance. I agree with Nick that Sinners movement of back foot forward seems awkward in its timing. I think it is definitely easier to serve with platform stance than pinpoint- one less thing to worry about that can go wrong.

    Not to troll but you missed a key advantage of this new motion. By delaying his right hand/arm in the motion, it has further to go in less time, meaning he has to swing it up faster which allows him to build more racquet speed throughout impact. Ash Barty also uses a similar technique.

    Can you expand on why the extreme opposite, like the Iga example, is bad? I recorded my service motion with focus on my setup going into the trophy phase, and noticed by racquet lagged well behind my toss and leg move, sort of like Sinner's. So, I watched Iga's motion and copied hers because it seemed like the most extreme in terms of racquet leading the motion, and it often helps me to exaggerate when changing mechanics. I didn't know if this racquet lag I had was necessarily bad, but I thought it might be contributing to my inability to fully pronate at the ideal contact point. By the time my racquet reached the ball, my racquet face was still slightly closed and resulted in slicing when I meant to hit flat. I figured having my racquet in the trophy position earlier would help me start my swing earlier and allow me to be on time with my pronation, and it did!
    As with a lot of these things, I imagine a lot of it is motivated by personal biomechanics and abilities. Maybe for me the Iga model is ideal, because I'm slow to pronate? If you think this is not the right solution, I'd appreciate any advice on how to pronate on time.

    Thanks for the analysis coach. Can you go over the role and importance of going on the balls of your feet (with the heels raised) once loaded and in the trophy phase? Is this something that is practiced or is more of a byproduct of the motion?

      @@IntuitiveTennis haha I did not - no it's just a recent observation I've made on my serve when I watch back, I'm somewhat flatfooted into the trophy phase, whereas most pros are pretty much on their tippy toes when they're in that stance

  • @ruggierojerolli

    Have to admit. Better than Federer's...for sure and the 2nd is way more dangerous than Roger's.
    But there's a bit lacking in Sinner's: Just make the ace or winner when needed the most in extreme pressure like those set points against ot mp against like Roger in Wimbledon and alike. We'll see in 2025
    For the count Sinner already tallied 1/2 of one : his mp against vs Djokovic in DavisCup 2023, not an ace but a hard one.
    And the debt Sinner has so now is performing in red clay as good as in hard courts.
    I'm 100% he'll do. My question is if his groundstrokes hammering each and every ball with, say somewhat low height over the net like in hard courts will succeed with Alcaraz in clay. In 2024 didn't in RG.
    But as Sinner keeps improving he (his team) should've already analyzed that by now.

    I know it may sound crazy, but it's not that crazy if you think about it (and if you watch Tennis Scientis's video "Jannik Sinner vs best Roger Federer: who would win?"): is Sinner the best tennis player ever? Would any of the Big 3 win against this Sinner? Would they be able to keep up with the intensity and speed of his game? Moreover, Sinner is improving in real time. He's a deep learning machine. Fritz, Medvedev, Ruud, de Minaur, etc... don't even look angry after losing to Sinner. They look resigned, as if they were aware that, even though they gave their all, it wasn't even enough to win a set, but at most 4 games.
    PS
    I'm a big RF fan and when I first watched that Tennis Scientist's video some months ago, I thought whatever... Don't even compare the King to this guy, but now... watching Sinner, I must admit I've NEVER seen anything like this before

      Sinner has one clay title. Calm down. Recency bias is rampant, makes sense but just look up just the statistics of 2003-2009. And then what Djokovic and Nadal did on top of that. Sinner is really really good but there is really no comparison yet.

    • @Valentino_Ferro
      @Valentino_Ferro Месяц назад

      @@fwvw7056 Obviously, I didn't mean to compare the Big 3's career to Sinner's. It wouldn't make any sense. I totally agree. All I wanted to say is that I've never seen anyone play better than Sinner is playing right now

    • @fwvw7056
      @fwvw7056 Месяц назад +1

      @Valentino_Ferro I understand and Sinner is up there (seemingly) right now. I didn't mean their cumulative career stats necessarily. But all those points of data that made their careers. Never seen anyone better? Just remember Nadal on clay, e.g. RG 2008, and how few games he lost that tournament, that was absolutely destruction and mind boggling. Federer has multiple Slams without a set loss. How he convincingly won Cincinnati more than one time with the most brutal attacking tennis there has been. Once defeated Murray (who was better then than the top 10 outside of Sinner now) 6-0 6-1 only allowing him one game at the end of the match or how he handed Hewitt to Bagels in the USO final (6-0 7-6 6-0) or how many bizar streaks Djokovic has had, and look specifically into the AO final of 2019 where Novak absolute dismantled Nadal and played a near perfect match. Or 2012 AO final or all those other finals between those two on clay especially. These are just a few highlights in that entire span where the level was godly.

    Interesting changes. To me it looks as if he was trying to speed up the whole motion, Kyrgios style. Looks like it made his serve harder, morr precise, and more difficult to read at the same time. Maybe it's the Clostebol.
