R.I.P Rutger Hauer you were awesome as The Hobo
Years ago on the trailer, I said that I would love to see this as a feature-length film. Years later, the film gets released and I was definitely not disappointed. It's sad that Mr. Hauer is gone, but I say that if there are many performances he's done, there are two that I'll certainly remember him for: Roy Batty and The Hobo. And I am glad to own this film on Blu-Ray (after having purchased it on DVD). I hope you, Jason, and your friends are all doing okay. And thank you for this awesome film. :D
A lot of East Coast pride in this movie!! Thanks for making us proud with this legendary film!
I went and watched this 8 times in the theatre! I loved it so much and I knew it wouldn’t make it for more than a couple weeks. Which also did end up happening so I’m glad I got to treasure those walks to the cinema and see this masterpiece over and over again!
I can't believe it's been 11 or 12 years since the movie was released and then you decided to release a behind-the-scenes documentary on your YT channel! I bet it must've been a blast for someone who's always been wanting to make their own feature-length film!
Hands down, one of my all time favorite movies!
I’m definitely watching this movie right after this. This will forever be one of my favorite films 🔥🤘🖤
Saw this BECAUSE of the trailer, and because I grew up in Halifax and Pictou, NS, and I know the attitude. I really would love to see a Hobo sequel...but I doubt it'll happen. I'm just glad that the movie happened. ALL HAIL THE PLAGUE.
would kill for “The Plague” the movie
Legitimately my most favorite movie of all time. The effects, the music, the cinematography, the writing, I’m glad I found this bhs bc it really cements the passion that went into the movie
Thank you!
Love this behind scenes view! Also looking forward to 2025 for the Teeth Beneath 20th Anniversary Edition!
So, so, soooo good.. love this movie and this documentary.. 12 thumbs up
I remember this on the behind the scenes box. The making of this movie looked like a lot of work/fun. Practically studied your technique. I love that you mixed canon t2i or 5d mk ii footage with the redcam
one of my all time favourites
I aint no fan of anyone but Rutger Hauer loved him since my childhood
Thank you for uploading the Making of!
I watched this movie alot of times, and after watching this I feel the need to watch it again with the new knowledge what happened behind the scenes.
The best, most accurate of the Grindhouse films. You could see the passion, energy, and creativity in every shot of the movie, and the attention to detail to make it feel like a schlocky 80s exploitation film. One of my favorites. Thank you for all the hard work that went into it.
Can't wait for your newest film, I saw Hobo with a Shotgun when it was on Netflix almost 10 years ago. It introduced me to Grindhouse, being 10 years old my mind was blown. I'm now a filmmaker/screenwriter and that's partially thanks to this film and the whole indie horror scene of the 2010s. Thanks guys and I hope your newest film is successful. Also your show The Dark side of the ring is brilliant, for someone who never had in interest in Wrestling or fighting I can say it's genuinely fascinating and sometimes really fucking heartbreaking.
I’d like to make movies with you!
I love this making of, seen it several times on the Hobo bluray! Extremely inspiring for a young Canadian filmmaker and Hobo was a huge influence on one of my recent shorts. Can’t wait to see Kids vs Aliens!!
That’s awesome to hear! Thank you!
My local DVD shop had a deal where you could buy 5 movies for a cheap price; Hobo With a Shotgun was one of my picks. Had a blast watching it as a teen (even better with friends).
Yeah, when Hobo with the Shotgun movie came out. I was very curious to see it. But apparently my dad have seen it he didn't like it until I bought the DVD and I absolutely love it, how over the top, exported. Love the concept idea for the movie.
It's one of my favorite movie ever, you've made one of the most genuine and entertaining picture with an amazing cast and an incredible crew of many talents. Cinematographic love from France 🇨🇵🇨🇦🎞️❤️
You can tell that there's so much love between you (Jason) & Rutger. ❣
Legendary movie, awesome to see the story behind it. I was always interested to see how they made the bus scene
Favorite movie. I just searched filming of hobo with a shotgun hoping to find some BTS footage and came across this! What a treat :D
so dope to see this!
Great watch! You're super talented man
I remember watching the trailer to this on YT over and over again. I saw it open in Scotiabank theatre and had the greatest theatre experience of my life. Never seen a standing ovation like that, not even at TIFF Midnight Madness.
Amazing! I have watched the movie over and over...it's such a masterpiece in it's own right beside based on Grindhouse material so ever yet being a comicbook dark kinda film also..every villain role playes out that so.
I love your work Jason!!
I started quoting Hobo with a shotgun lines in school and I got suspended
oh dear god, yes. I need more hobo with a shotgun in my life. thank you!
The movie: a hardcore exploitation about chewing on broken glass, decapitating with a sewer lid, burning a whole bus of kids alive.
The "making of" documentary: one of the most heartwarming and inspiring stories in years.
I just got The Plague tattooed on my forearm a few months ago pure classic
I'm just gonna go and watch my new hobo with a shotgun blu-ray and come back and watch this after!
This was thankfully included on my blu-ray! Such a great lil bts
@@dentxn yeah I just finished watching the film, balls to the wall action, great pacing, a dose of social commentary and a fulfilling ending, AND a hobo with a shotgun of course! thanks for the tip on the extras, thought it best to watch it here on RUclips though. For the algorithm... 😁
I had the opportunity to watch the film when it released in theaters. The second i saw the fake trailer i thogh it was hilarious
I feel I have the eccentric mayhem to be part of your team. No jokes here. You need forward out of the Oblong thinkers, and I'm really good at this.
Great movie
Why did we not get a The Plague movie right after Hobo?
If people would of paid to watch Hobo With a Shotgun when it came out we would of been able to. Unfortunately we couldn’t get it financed.
@@jasoneisener damn. Well I know I saw it and got the Blu Ray as soon as I could. A truly perfect movie for what it was going for. Thank you for getting it made.
when will you reupload Bloodstorm?
is there any chance we could get that bear shirt as merchandise? id buy the fuck out of that
How'd they let you guys make this tremendous movie!!!?
All we want is a reupload of Bloodstorm
33:07 33:07 what did you you guys use for the red stuff and you know that thing
If i get this movie on dvd what do i get
How do you feel about people making movie recaps on this movie
I didn’t really know about them till you pointed it out. I think it’s cool. Crazy how many views some of them have. Wish it translated into some kind of measure of success so financiers would allow me to make more films haha.
I found a spider in my slipcover of the dvd
How did the parent's feel about this movie
Did you watch it together?
My parents saw it for the first time at the Sundance premiere. Rutger and I sat in front of my mom. We looked back and her mouth was dropped in shock. She said “Jason. Will talk later”. My Dad laughed is ass off the whole time. When Whoopi Goldberg said on the View that Hobo With a Shotgun was her favorite movie, that was my mom’s proudest moment of me haha. Im lucky that my parents are very supportive.
@@jasoneisener she wasn't scared or like did you watch the whole film no cuts
I've been waiting for Hooker with a Lawnmower. This movie was sick as hell. Canada awesome at horror most times...exploitation...whatever
Some how mean but never mean spirited. It's a really fun film. If you're ever doing a con in the uk please let us know and i'll try and get our stoopid puppet show on. I think it would speak to your idiots doing their best to make something.
Let’s make a Hobo With A Shotgun 2.
I liked the film but the bus scene should not have been included
The best exploitation movie done after the 80s
