  • Today's nostalgic tour of the past and trip down memory lane, takes me to the famous Safari Inn in Burbank, California. This vintage, 1960s Hollywood landmark hotel was the filming location for The Partridge Family episode 8, "The Memory Lingers on" which aired November 13, 1970.
I also stop by the Warner Brothers Ranch Lot, just a few miles away from the hotel, where The Partridge Family home is located.
Other films and TV shows filmed at the Safari Inn include: Apollo 13, Coach Carter, CSI Crime Scene, Desperate Housewives, Falcon Crest, Six Feet Under, TJ Hooker and True Romance.

Yup this was a favourite show in my family. I had a David Cassidy's poster, that song Cherish is still liked. Later on in life I watched interviews of how lonely and sad he ended up becoming. I know his family loved him dearly and tried to help him based on their articles.RIP David Cassidy. Tyvm Steve, this was a great trip down memory lane.

David Cassidy was a headliner when I moved to Vegas 20 years ago. I ran into him several times. He seemed to be a nice person. But I did like him in the Partridge Family TV series. Again you brought back happy memories from the past🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. As I am writing I am singing the theme song of the Partridge Family show. It is such a catchy tune. Thanks for the happy memories.

I collected all the teenybopper magazines, posters, and my cousin even had some Partridge Family bubblegum cards! So many favorite episodes of the show, and I still watch it today, so sad, though, knowing David and Suzanne Crough, who portrayed little Tracy, have both passed, as well as Dave Madden, Ruben Kincaid.

I was just a little girl back in the 70's (I was born in 1968), so I only saw The Partridge Family in reruns. David Cassidy was the first cute boy I ever saw on TV. I'm 54 now, and he is still high on my list of favorite celebrities. My only regret is that I never got to meet him. But the first time I saw him in concert, which was on his 53rd birthday - April 12, 2003, - he looked right at me and took hold of my hand while he sang *No Bridge I wouldn't Cross." That's a moment in my life I'll always keep close to my heart. I miss David Cassidy so much, it hurts! May he rest in eternal peace.

The street the Partridge Family House is on was located on the same street as Major Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie. Also the Dr Bellows house was also used on Bewitched. It was Darren and Samantha's house. Right across the street was Mrs Cravits House. Also the fountain was used at the beginning of the show Friends. The area is called Blondie street, or something like that. In at least one episode you saw the Bewitched house when the bus was going down the road. I adored the Partridge Family
Some kids in the neighborhood and I put on our own version of them called The Pidgeon Family. Unfortunately we weren't a hit
Thanks for the trip down memory lane

I was going to mention them, but decided to do another video in the future remembering the cast. Thanks for mentioning them, though. Madden was cremated, but Suzanne is buried in Arizona. I may stop and visit her grave if I have time when I pass through this summer. Or, maybe someone who lives nearby will send me a photo or video that I can share. Thanks, Ruthann!

Hi Steve, yes that area that you were mentioning about, that was the old Columbia Studios backlot because if you watched any of the old sitcoms like Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, PF and more that was where all kinds of scenes were filmed. I have a book about Warner Brothers and they show you all that stuff. It was even used in the 3 Stooges comedies as well. Also if you look at any Chevrolet print ads that was where they took the shots. The best example is an ad or the brochure on the '70 Chevelle SS, you'll see Major Nelson's house and the PF house as well. It is a pity that you can't tour that, because if watched TV back in the sixties and seventies & came from Columbia pictures there you go.

You've out-done yourself brother Steve on this video. The 'Partridge Family' was my introduction into popular music and their albums with David Cassidy and Shirley Jones spoke to me. It was a mythical life which I, as a 6, 7 and 8 year old child believed could really happen back-in-the-day. Some of my favourite episodes were the 1st Christmas show, the episode with Bobby Sherman and later with the unknown Farah Fawcett. Steve, you simply need to do more 'in-depth' videos about this monumental TV show. I will be waiting.

Seems we watched just about all of the same TV series, Steve. This was interesting look at a location from PF; ody enough, I caught this episode in repeat not too long ago. Sorry to hear of the lost photos.
It is sad how David Cassidy's life became, he was such a 70s teen idol.
If you're going to do more on the show, I know Suzane Crouch, and David Madden are gone also. Unsure on a couple others.

I was a student at the St Finbar's Catholic School at the time which is just down the street. You can see the church's steeple in the background on some of your video. I remember that day! They had the street blocked off and I remember seeing the Partridge Family bus. It was awesome! I was around 11 yrs old at the time.

I remember watching The Partridge Family in syndication. Hard to imagine that Dave Madden (Ruben Kincaid), David Cassidy (Keith Partridge), and Suzanne Crow (Stacy Partridge) have passed away. The legacy lives on. Shirley Jones I remember from Oklahoma, Courtship of Eddie's Father, The Music Man. She was married to Jack Cassidy. The Warner Bros. Ranch is where the Cape Cod styled housed used on Bewitched and also many episodes of The FBI was also filmed there.
