I live alone and have sold online for about 6 yrs. 2 yrs ago a semi truck mutilated my car and i was injured. I've had medical restrictions and weekly rehab appointments ever since. My case isn't yet settled so its been an insane balancing act to keep up. When it was apparent my work hours were hugely reduced I did change how I sourced, what I devoted time to listing. I have bread and butter stuff here already but I left it and hammered at the high value items. When 2023 ended my numbers showed that I made a lot less sales but my average sale price was pushed to about 44 dollars. in spite of all my time away I still closed the year at just under 70K, slightly higher than the year before. That pivot actually worked. All the best.
wow, that's incredible! i have a lot of physical limitations and am lucky if i can list 5 items per day. i also don't have a car and live in fl, so we don't get a ton of high-dollar fashion items casually. lots of vintage, which can be so hit or miss and often instinct-based. congrats on turning a really unfortunate and painful situation into a profitable pivot! :D
@@JillianWoj-q3mwe’re a one car family too so I don’t source a lot in person. I’m actually part of the Poshmark consignment beta testing right now so that’s where a lot of my inventory is coming from currently, but I like to source online at style encore and clothes mentor. You can shop all of their stores nationwide and sometimes get excellent deals on items. The real real can be good to troll too but requires more research.
Mom of two young kids and right along with you. Every time I watch your videos, I find them so incredibly valuable and inspiring, and I hope you’re being kind to yourself. You’re doing more than you know. We’re all in your corner
I've been doing lots of yard work and working in the garden, I live on 1.5 acres and it can really get away from you when your in your 60's. I love a vegetable garden and we have to take time doing what we love. Life can't be just about making money. I plan to start listing for 4th quarter. Our Summers seem so short here in Oregon and before we know it, it's gone. So have fun with your family & don't feel guilty, there will always be work to do.❤😊 Thank you for your great videos!
Working life balance is a lie, can’t do more than one thing at a time. The key is to focus 100% on what you’re doing at the moment, otherwise it will take you longer. Take your vacations, take time away to spend with your kids and family…you can always get your sales back but you don’t want to lose out on quality time with the family. I’m putting my Poshmark closet on sale for the next week so hoping my great sales streak doesn’t plummet. I’m okay if it does because I really need this vacation and time away from my full time job and part time Poshmark business. Love your videos and appreciate you keeping it honest as this is not easy.
Bonobos was bought by Walmart in 2017, now they are selling it too. I use something similar to Posher VA, prime lister. Does all the same stuff as Posher VA except it’s cheaper and it’s on my phone, not computer. I don’t have home internet except when I turn on a hotspot so having it on my cell is the way to go for me. And if you pay by the year it’s only $20 a month. It’s been a game changer for me
It’s funny because I only ever started picking up Bonobos because of your recommendations in older videos. But it’s been a really good seller for me, however it’s probably due to the fact that I found a large amount new with tags. So I’m glad you recommended it but it’s good to know that now it’s not a good one to get preowned!
and btw, I never steam anything, I just spritz them with water, smoothe it out, and let dry. for non delicates, I'll throw in the dryer for a couple minutes. can't be bothered with steaming
I’m a poshmark seller and I’m struggling to get sales. I’m not gonna give up yet since I’m new this month but omg it’s hard. I have all cute new pieces. Going to start up a RUclips channel of my going thrifting too!
Work life balance does exist… when your babies get a bit older… it just gets different. Never like before . You are doing great momma!! It sounds like you offer free shipping now on Mercari. Am I right ? Thanks for all your content! 😘
985 DAYS??? That's dam near 3 years; are you sure? YOU know, fashion changes always and often, so the brands that worked years ago, don't work now. Same with styles. Curious - do you find that free shipping moves merchandise faster? It seems that some of those long-tail pieces you could have taken to Crossroads; no?
Are you using stock photos? I’m new to reselling, but have seen other people warn against it. I used stock photos initially because I was ignorant about it, and took them down as soon as I became aware that it could be a problem.
Hey lovely! I’m new to reselling and watch your channel every single day. In one of your videos you mentioned your friend that designed your logo for your business. I’m looking for a graphic designer to hire to help me with my logo, I’d appreciate their info. Thank you! God bless
Mogi dear...time mgnt. We love your brands. Don't deep dive on Financials..each item 29 seconds. No deep dives. You loose people with the details. You have a baby to snuggle.. just the facts. Brand price & label. I'm in KC too
It's important to take time for yourself & family! I just took a full 7 days off and didn't list & turned my eBay store off. It was wonderful to disconnect fully. Sales bounced back right away when I consistently listed good items. You are juggling a lot right now...be nice to yourself!
Maybe I’m confused, but when you say gross profit do you really meant net profit? Or are you talking about the gross profit after fees? I’m watching around the 20 minute mark if that helps.
She means what she took home after fees and cost of goods, which is gross profit. A lot of resellers get this wrong and keep calling it net profit. She's one of the rare ones who gets it right. Net profit (or net income) is Sales - COG - Business Expenses (including platform fees, gas, supplies, etc.) -Depreciation/Amortization, - Taxes, etc.
@@felsull Thanks for clarifying! I was confused about the difference, but you’re right. I’ve heard it explained the other way so often so this video was confusing me. Thanks again 😊
@@Mon-Alisa Yeah, it drives me bonkers when people keep misrepresenting the definition of net income. It's really what you take home every year after taxes and all the expenses that go into your business. So when people say they're a six-figure reseller, I'm like--before or after expenses & taxes?

I feel the need to clarify technically there are no seller fees on Mercari but they still charge you $2 to get you money out so that's a fee.
So excited for your video! I’m gonna go share your closet while I watch 💜

I didn't know KC has an Anthropologie store, will have to check that out!
They have two, Town Center and Plaza

Who What Wear is Target, We Wore What is Nordstrom! Maybe they mixed them up at whatever company you got the palette from 😂
My favorite line of the video, “you get what you get… And you don’t throw a fit” 😂
haha I also confuse Who What Wear with Who Wore What, but even the higher end one, I won't pick up anymore

While I'm sure your intent was good, your chiding delivery was off putting. I'm sure she will find her way through as most Moms with newborns do.
These times with your little ones will go so quickly. Give yourself grace. My sales seem to start to get on a consistent roll, and then crickets🤷🏻♀️
As the mom of a nearly 4yo boy, who also has a full time job -- you are right. It's a lie, but you can still be successful!!

It's not you and may not be about your brands. In today's market you have to sell cheap or no sales.
