Under the theme of the evening 'Yes We Canada', Rumour Mill performed as the third and last act of the evening alongside 0stella and False Perspective.
I just heard Rumour Mill for the first time a few days before the show and I was really looking forward to seeing these two extraordinary musicians live on stage.
The duo had just arrived from Canada the day before, played a concert on the same day and then traveled to the Resistor in Leiden for their gig the next day. Accordingly, they were struggling with jet lag and were pretty tired before the show, they told me.
But you didn't notice any of this during the show. They were fully there from the very first second. Vocally and musically, it was a performance in a class of its own.
It was the perfect and crowning finale to the concert night that left nothing to be desired.
It was an unforgettable and great experience to see these two great musicians live on stage. A big thank you for that.
