I wish they'd show this as the riders riding single file when a car approaches. It makes it look as though the riders are being inconsiderate road users too.
Agreed- I think that was kind of intention though, to show what could happen, though it would be easier if people would slow down. I keep way off the roads and people still go blowing by- not many horses are a fan of that.
Where i live, theres a place where horses stay and they normally come out for a ride on the road. My mum gets mad everytime they do but she does follow those rules. But the horse riders need sense too because a) if there is a path free, why cant they use that and b) they always poo in the road AND paths and the riders dont even pick it up! Why should we pick up our dog poo when they dont pick up their horse poo?!
don’t care that this was posted 6 years ago. there are hardly any bridlepaths for us anymore and how do you expect us to pick up horse poo?? Horse poo is just digested grass/hay etc nothing harmful. Whereas dog poo can cause stuff like blindness
Now what riders are doing is that they have headcams so they can catch what drivers are doing. Dont blame the drivers, cos theres nowhere for them to pass with them taking up the whole side of the road? Why cant they go single file?
really makes me think this

when you have a young rider or an younger or less experienced horse you have to be in doubles like this.
That's a fair point. I recently bought a vest that says Caution Young Horse. it works an absolute treat to slow drivers down.
