Hey everyone! Super happy to see this video get attention. Didn’t expect this at all. To those saying there are more optimal ways to use the Lament, yes there are! This video was merely to demonstrate how to utilize the sword’s charge function. The *proper*, most optimal way to combo the lament is as follows: 3 rev light, 1 rev heavy, 2 uncharged lights, repeat. You don’t need to let the energy refill all the way before accessing the combo again. If the energy is not sufficient, skip out on the third rev in favor of two. My tutorials are geared towards brand new players who may not have the capacity to do so, so I didn’t mention it. However, since it seems like you all would like the most meta way to use things included, I will do so moving forward.
Did he not say what is the optimal combo?. In case he did not and you felt like you wasted your time, it is Rev 2 light 1 heavy> 2 light to let the charge build partially> Rev 2 light 1 heavy and repeat. 2 light 1 heavy has the shortest animation frame so efficient dps.
@@insfw_Arts disagree. 2 light after the heavy is better imo. Doing a third one takes longer to get back into the reving then just 2. Though I do 2-3 light after reving. I haven't noticed a significant time difference in that part.
@@joshuabrown4652 yeah i'm pretty sure you either go for 2 or 4 lights post-heavy because of the physical position it puts your character in haha it's really weird but it makes you go back to blocking (revving) faster for some reason
The video does explain the basics of the sword very well and for that I wanna thank you, however I noticed another problem a lot of people have and I myself had aswell. The optimal dps combo with the lament is 3 Rev light attacks, 1 rev heavy attack, 3 normal light attacks, repeat. This is due to the Rev heavy attack not needing the last quarter of your sword energy but instead consuming any remaining sword energy. This means if you emptied your energy 3 normal light attacks should be long enough for your energy to be slightly above 3/4 to do the Rev combo again. And that is where most people fail. Because the lament needs a bit of time to get the block up. If you hit the mouse button to fast after blocking there is a high chance you are not using Rev because you started attacking again before Rev was up. So my tip to be more consistent with it is to step one or two steps backwards while blocking after the 3 normal light attacks, giving you the time to observe if the Rev aura is up again. This helps getting used to the time the sword needs to get into the blocking since I found it hard to tell while literally standing inside the enemy lmao Hope that helps aswell
One thing I've noticed when using Lament in its heyday in DSC with Lucent Blade Cw/L mod, is that the revved heavy attack can activate even if there's a sliver of charge left. I was able to consistently out damage my teammates that would do the normal amount of hits to recharge the meter because I would do one or two less hits (if they did 5-6 respectively). iirc, with Lucent Blade active, I would swing 3-4 times which I think was four because I remember the conventional wisdom was 6. So by not letting the energy meter max, you can pump out more boosted damage in any DPS window. The only thing I'm not sure about now is how this translates with the new mods and if you need 2 or 3 copies to emulate this. It was also post nerf on Lament, so I think it might have gone up to x12 banshee wail.
Thanks for this quick detailed guide. I watched a lot of videos on this and it was by far the best. Subscribe. And now I know why my DPS numbers sucked in Warlords Ruin yesterday.
pandastic: *also uses lament wrong* "common mistakes" segment: is just telling you what the exotic does "energy level" segment: is telling you how to use the lament wrong refer to ahnaf adib's comment
Question: What about with Strongholds? As a titan main, I'm curious what the numbers are with those added in. Especially cause I'm using Lament for the solo dungeon
The fact that a video needs to be made abt this greatly explains the skill gap in destiny 2. No one is good at the game, people are just worse at the game than you.
It's so funny because the first half of the video is telling you what the exotic does and the second half is telling you how to use it wrong People aren't bad at destiny tho right? Speedrunners are insane

This sounds like Winnie the Pooh reading me The Art of War.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol I definitely got Michael Jackson vibes at some points

thakyou this is helpful
the true combo is 4 light charged and 1 heavy, after that it's 3 light uncharged, and now it's 3 light and one heavy, it's the best dps combo

@@insfw_Arts feel free to only go for 2 revved lights; the stacks cap

I was about to comment the same thing, great explination man!)
thanks for pointing out the healing benefit of banshee's wail. super helpful!
I wouldn't rely on it
This is amazing. I'll just go ahead and admit I was using this sword exactly like the solar sword from D1. Thanks man.

That's why I'm here. Haha

@pandasticc did I hear you say to keep the rev controller button continually depressed throughout the entire damage phase even when the charge is out?
thank you!!!!! I just got learned!!!
Good thing crota is out lament is gonna eat crota alive
Do a vid with stronghold titan with lament
Do more than three revved light attacks before a heavy. It’s literally just more damage.
Yeah bro was throwing his damage, 4 light and 1 heavy is the way
what? the stacks have a cap
no stop spreading misinformation the stacks stop at 9 just do 2 revved lights then the heavy and 2 normal lights repeat

Great guide. Thank you.
🙌
Love your vibe bro
Gonna use this on Crota
Great video! I'm sure I've been using it wrong 😮
A gun with shield piercing Sucks, and cant break a sheild, but a chainsaw works, Kinda more reasonable
i love lament
Doesn't work on my titan. Probably the crayons fault
THANKS!
So dope. InsaNely helpful

I must be the only one who can do 5 rev'd lights + 1 heavy, huh?
Wdym? Many people stop at 4 for dps or buff stacks capping
Fr, wdym
Why is bro insulting me in the title? 😭😭
and in reality he sucks at using lament
Only people with Titan IQ don't know how this sword works.
