i literally cry every time I see this scene because all want is to love myself. I look at myself everyday I hate the person I see looking back at me, I grew up believing that I was never enough, and that society would never see me as attractive or lovable, everyday i struggle to get through the day with a smile because I hate who I am. I love this show so much because I like to believe that my happy ending is somewhere out there, and for once I will be the hero the savior or just the beloved of my own story. One day I will truly love myself and maybe just then I can acknowledge and accept the love of theres.

Dude, I cried my eyes out when Regina said "And now I love myself." She is my favorite character, and this exemplifies why. For her to realize everything that went wrong and to give a part of herself a second chance for life, love and happiness, bravo, Regina, BRAVO! 😘🙌❤.

It’s been so long since I’ve watched OUAT, but I’m so glad I watched it. The character development was just... Amazing. Inspiring. And real. Regina loved someone who was taken away from her, been hurting for so long that she had to hold onto hate. She set her hurt and pain aside and tried to redeem herself... Which she did. She is the balance between good and evil, the acceptance between hate and love. I would be lying if I said she wasn’t my role model when I watched this particular scene. She accepted the bad in her heart when it was a tough decision to make, she decided to give love in return. And that is what made Regina a memorable character.

I like how Regina started 2 crush her evil halfs heart again & she stopped & looked down at the broken mirror pieces & remembering when she looked in the mirror at the person she hated the most it was herself & she let the evil queen go & she gave the evil queen love from the people she really cared about & Regina shows the evil queen she cares about her too when she gave the evil queen a hug

On a different note, while OUAT struggled with most of its characters regressing constantly and yet also somehow on an inconsistent basis, and the show could at times be quite frustrating, Regina is genuinely one of my favorite characters, period. Ending the show with her being crowned “The Good Queen”? I’m not much of crier for fiction, but that shit moved me. I consider Regina’s path to redemption at least on par with Zuko’s, if not better. I mean Avatar was the better show, no doubt, but Regina’s story is just -chefs kiss-
See this? This is what I think the real reason is behind Regina not being able to stand Zelena during this season. Zelena reminded her of the part of herself she truly hated. It’s like Zelena said, she removed the part of herself that was most like her. even though I think they could also finish the Evil Queen storyline by just killing her(considering she was no longer connected to Regina thanks to the sheers) I don't think that would make Regina truly happy, cause The Evil Queen, what ever she was, she was still part of Regina and by just destroying her, you won't heal your self-hatred problems, you just cut an organ from yourself in other words.

Not necessarily, if she was pure evil, she would have killed snow a long time ago, honestly throughout the entire show I think she had sympathy for snow, she just never showed it, I mean look, she's had multiple opportunities to flat out kill snow right in front of her face, but she didn't, take Snow's father's funeral for example, snow hugged her and Regina hugged her back, she could have immediately ripped her heart out right there and killed her, yet she didn't, so that shows she has always still had some love in her heart, she just never wanted to show it cuz she thought it would make her look weak when really, it wouldn't have, she would've been happy, but she was to broken to see that

i think one of the parts of this scene that BREAKS me is when the evil queen almost loses and is "defeated" and just stands there and says with every bit of malice and hatred and sadness and anger "I *hate* you." it ALWAYS get to me. it's the powerful buildup that makes "But, I don't" and "And, now I *love* myself." SO heart-hitting.
