Not even 30 seconds into this video and you guys helped solve my problem...... I have literally been freaking out over trying to get my phone to make noise for literally ONE WHOLE HOUR.... I really appreciate you guys. Thank you so so much!
You saved me a lot of frustration. Could not figure out why I could hear podcasts but not ringtones and text notifications. Great job. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You guys are amazing! Spent hours on Apple sites and Geek sites and none of them mentioned the silencer switch on the left of the phone. You solved my problem within the first 30 seconds. Thank you for the great work! 👍👍
I just made the transition from android to iPhone and had no idea there was a little switch above the volume button. Umpteen Google searches later I found your video. Thank you so much, you saved me a trip back to the store.
Thank you so much! You're very first solution, that volume switch on the left was exactly what I needed to use! You're right. I didn't know about it or what it did.
OMG!!! You guys are a life saver. and a trip saver. I didn't even know there was a button there on the left being that I have an otter box that hid this feature. My hats off to you. Thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!
Thank You so Much. I just got a New iPhone 11 which is the first iPhone I have ever had. I could not figure out why it was not ringing. Did not get told about that little button on side. And thanks for all the other help and information.
You rock, David & David! At 2:39 into your 4:13 video you nailed my problem! On my iPhone 11, I typically keep Bluetooth ON, unless I'm at Starbucks or Panera Bread where a black hat could be trying to hack my phone. Due to COVID, I don't frequent those places so I left Bluetooth ON ("permanently", until now!) on my iPhone 11, since I use Car Play when driving. For the past several months (maybe coinciding with the pandemic?), calls from my wife while driving reliably rang thru to Car Play, but RARELY did her calls ring thru to my iPhone when I wasn't in the car. You can imagine the stress this added to our relationship. Based on your excellent video, you connected the technology dots for me. It would appear that I need to turn Bluetooth OFF whenever I exit the car, so my wife's ringtones don't land in the Car Play bit bucket, eh? This "feature" is clearly a logic error in IOS 14.x, in my occasionally humble opinion. After listening to your video in the comfort of my home, I observed that Bluetooth was ON on my iPhone. With my car parked two blocks away and not running , I turned Bluetooth OFF on my iPhone and called myself from my wife's iPhone. As you predicted, my iPhone received the callI placed from my wife's iPhone 11, loud and clear. Problem solved, by switching Bluetooth from ON to OFF! When I switched Bluetooth back ON on my iPhone, the IOS 14.x logic worked correctly and displayed the message "Toyota RAV4 Not Found" and the call from my wife's iPhone rang thru to my iPhone. So the bug for Apple to investigate is why leaving Bluetooth ON on an iPhone 11 after exiting a Car Play-equipped vehicle prevents calls from ringing thru to the iPhone 11. Prior to watching your video, I experimented with all of the possible combinations of Do Not Disturb with its options and nothing worked to resolve this chronic problem. It would appear that DND is a red herring if Bluetooth is ON and you use it with Car Play. Thank you for reestablishing iPhone communication for me with my wife and thus improving our albeit terrific relationship!
Really helped me out alot, I got the new iPhone 11 for Christmas and it's my first iPhone ever but I had a iPod before but now I watch alot of videos to help me learn how to use an iPhone so thanks and I subscribed! And i enjoyed the video!
The first five seconds I had my answer. After numerous videos finally. Just a little button on the freaking side I kept pushing it seeing it saying ringer off and I go into my settings and couldn’t figure it out it was like really seriously thanks guys really appreciate it!
Thank you! Couldn't figure out why the buttons were not controlling my ringer volume. Knew there had to be a simple setting adjustment somewhere in there...
LOL aaaaand the ringer was OFF, my case covers that little button, and there is a flap suggesting that I should access something, but I never even looked. Thanks for the video. I have missed some really time sensitive calls.
Thank you!!!!!! If we added you guys's ages together, you would still be too young for me, but still, I think I love you!:D This phone is driving me crazy! Thanks for being here. (It's also nice to know that I am not the only person who was having this MADDENING problem!)
Thanks. I felt kind of dumbed down. Lol, they don't give a manual, and I checked everything without noticing that little switch on the side. Lesson learned.
Nice job guys. Different subject, just spent over three hours with Apple support trying to figure out why my music repeatedly off loads from my iPhone and iPad. No fix from Apple. Any ideas? Thanks.
Can't thank you enough; the first one, "You probably all know about this one..." Me: nope, brand new IPhone user lol. Thanks so much. You guys are clear and to the point. Kudos.
Wow, had no idea there was a little sound button to pull forward to back on side of phone. Been trying all day and I found your video. Waiting on an important call and I was afraid to miss it.
Just like every one that transitioned from Android to iPhone 11 pro max - I too got that ' Ah-Ha ' Moment... Thanks Guys for the video, there I was on HOLD with iPhone customer service ' waiting ' Then gave up on iPhone Customer Service, fired up RUclips, and 0:17 seconds later my problem was solved .
Thanks - I tried everything and had no idea there was a toggle switch to turn the volume on and off! I think I accidentally turned the switch to off when I took the case off yesterday.
Many thanks. Just set up my new phone and it never dawned on me that the switch would be in silent position. Now, what else am I missing? At least I know who to turn to!
Not even 30 seconds into this video and you guys helped solve my problem...... I have literally been freaking out over trying to get my phone to make noise for literally ONE WHOLE HOUR.... I really appreciate you guys. Thank you so so much!

Duh, all this time my ringer was turned off. No wonder I wasn’t getting my calls. Thanks for keeping it simple.
You guys are amazing! Spent hours on Apple sites and Geek sites and none of them mentioned the silencer switch on the left of the phone. You solved my problem within the first 30 seconds. Thank you for the great work! 👍👍
