Just wanted to say a huge thanks for doing all these videos, I was full time shearing 15 years ago and now only do about 1500 a year. Always had trouble on the first shoulder and getting the sheep settled before starting shearing, watched your videos and have sorted both problems even finding 10 extra an hour today! Wish your videos had been around when I was at it full time, it would have made my life a lot easier, lol. Thanks again.
Thankyou so much for creating these videos! I've just got into sheep and shearing is a huge challenge I'm trying to become better and more confident at. It's so hard to find really good lessons about actually moving between the positions. There are loads of videos on actually shearing but not how to get between all the positions. You are a life saver and are going to help me feel so much more confident trying to shear sheep 😁😁
Thank you for this video helped me so much. Having the sheep spine curved and sat more comfy made such difference for me . Rather than fighting the ewe. So many vidoes don't show that . Cheers 👍👍
How do you cut so close to the skin? Are you pressing the comb down into it? If so - how does that not cut the sheep? No one in our area shears sheep anymore and the last guy who did left our sheep a bloddy mess. I've tried shearing them myself but they look like a 5 year old kid tried to carve a block of foam rubber with a pair of dull scissors.
Hi I would recommend diamond cutters and chargers or quantum combs they are not to wide. All made by heiniger. Cameron Wilson from the sheep Game will give you a good deal. ( I am not sponsored or affiliated)
when i hold the head of the sheep with my left hand while im doing the longblows some tend to fight back and lean their head back , is there a way to couteract this or you just have to be strong
It’s not strength if your using strength the sheep and you are in the wrong position. I would need to see your position but I am guessing the sheep is to far over on its side and your left foot is not far enough under its shoulder.

Amazing footwork on that shoulder to long blow transition. And what a patient cheviot!
