    I was fortunate to get my dad's White Album, Red Greatest Hits and Blue Greatest Hits albums. He turns 85 next month. Have acquired many other Beatles Albums over the years, but those 3, I will never part with. Great video!!

      Wonderful story. That kind of record is truly special. I have a few like that too from my dads collection. Not Beatles.

    I'm grateful I'm of an age that in 1992 when I started buying Beatles lps they were still relatively cheap. My first purchase was Rubber Soul for £5 from record dealer at the local market and I still have that copy. I'm in the UK so yellow/black Parlophones were easily obtained. I thought I was buying 1st presses when I was buying them but only later found out that some were 2nd, 3rd and 4th presses. It didn't particularly bother me and I've never pursued those 1st presses to this day. As long as they were clean that's all I wanted. I remember one day at the market a dealer had every original lp in mono and stereo in mint condition for £15 each. I only bought 3 due to cost but obviously wish I'd bought the lot! Oh for the days when records were cheap. All the best Nigel.

      Amazing. Thanks for sharing. Yes it was a thrill going to thrift stores and fairs. Today, not so much. Maybe I’ll get out there and see if I can find cds instead. No one wants them right now 😀. Any how. Best band ever! Thanks for watching and commenting. Means a lot! //Jonas

    Hi Jonas,
    Thanks for the speedy ride 😉
    A suggestion: Try out "Let It Be - Naked" (2003).
    It's - in my opinion - more of what the Beatles tried to be at this time (than the LIB we got in 1970): A basic rock band playing live.
    The LIB-version we all know has added a lot of violins etc. from the Phil Spector production. I find it a misfit in several places (and "Don't Let Me Down" is not included - but it's a strong Lennon song!).
    "Naked" was Paul McCartney's project - but was approved by George, Ringo and Yoko Ono (John was no longer alive at that time).
    On vinyl "naked" is STUPID expensive, but on CD it's cheap.
    Keep up the good work.

      I have the cd of Naked. Love it. Agree. A much better record than the original with all the Spector hoopla.

    Have you seen the group live or solo
    I have seen George with Clapton and
    Paul solo and Ringo with allstars but
    not John Lennon.
    Keep up the good work.....

    Really miss the good old days when you could find decent condition classic albums for a few euros. I dont know when things started to go up in Denmark or the rest of Europe, but in eastern Europe prices went extremly high up somwhere around 2017-18
    PS Get Off the ground by Paul McCartney from the solo records. I used to overlook it, but really enjoyed it over the last year or so

      I’ll check that Paul out. Can’t say I have listens to it. Thanks.
      Yes the good ol days indeed. I agree. Should have been 17-18 when it really started to go bonkers.

    Ringo wasn’t his first solo record and it’s also the only post Beatles record to have all four Beatles on it (though they never play together).

      Yes I remembered that afterwards. Man sometimes I go to fast 😀. I never got Beaucoups Of Blues but it’s been on my want list forever.

    Hi, Jonas. I love The Beatles and have hundreds of their records in my collection. If you want a nice stereo Please Please Me get hold of the German one on Hor Zu label. Same for the Magical Mystery Tour. You better search for the German one on Apple label (dead wax dash 1 for side one, dash 3 for for side two). I think there´s quite a few McCartney albums worth getting, man. I also think All Things Must Pass is one of the best Beatle solo albums. Bye for now, Nelio.

      In my humble opinion its the best band ever and there is not even a close second. What the guys accomplished in that short of a time is just unbelivable. Thanx for the tips. Ill def check the pressings out!

    I would also recommend you to look for the HörZu Magical Mystery Tour with A-1/B-3 in the matrix, it sounds fantastic. Thanks for the video.

      @@SublimMedia Just make sure to get the right pressing, had HörZu (same cover, labels) with a A-1/B-1, didn't sound as good. A1/B-3 is the one to go for. Have fun diggin'!

    Ah, but Beatles records need to have yellow parlophone logos, they are so iconic

  • @RobertFithen
    @RobertFithen 2 года назад +1

    The UK and US "Rubber Soul"s are very different albums. US "Revolver" is missing some Lennon tracks that are on the UK. I couldn't tell if the Magical Mystery Tour you showed was an old one or a newer re-issue. You definitely want to stay away from original US MMT's because side two is almost all "fake" stereo and sounds bad. As mentioned by others here, the German second pressing from 1973 is the absolute best (I did a video on it.), but any is better than the older U.S. ones.

    • @SublimMedia
      @SublimMedia  2 года назад +1

      Thanks. Man im learning a bunch from you guys! Are all german pressings of beatles records good on that label or is it just Magic M?

    • @RobertFithen
      @RobertFithen 2 года назад +1

      @@SublimMedia The 1973 "Revolver" is sought after. Incredible pressing, but some may find it too bass-heavy. The German 1973 "Please Please Me" is widely thought to be the best stereo pressing of that album.
