KERING.. umbrella company Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, Qeelin, as well as Kering Eyewear… sexualizing children is disgusting
Chanel, Goyard(not a fan of the print design), Chloe bags (same reason), bottega (so many dupes), balenciaga (never liked their design), senreve (remind me of lunchboxes) versace, fendi, dolce
I agree, I feel their baywater flap tote has a Birkin vibe but with its own added details. I like it appears easier to get into than a Birkin and it's straps on the side are adjustible allowing the bag mouth to go wider or tighter. On the outside, I like the double leather strip/ straps running along the front and back of the body reinforcing the bag shape. Plus the price is so reasonable.
It used to be and I'm happy with my old Mulberry bags in Darwin leather, no logos on them. My Roxanne has aged beautifully. But have you seen the new bags like the mini Alexa bags? Looks like plastic and the hard ware looks like cheap metal.
I have a few Mulberry’s including an older Alexa and a Bayswater. Yes the Alexa can be a bit cumbersome to get in and out of, but I love the style and the leather is amazing and so I don’t find it bothers me. It’s not a bag I’d take on a long trip, but it’s fine for work or a day out. I’m a hardware girl so often it is the hardware that sells a bag to me and I’m a sucker for a turnlock closure. My biggest issue with Mulberry is how easily the plate scratches.
Chloé is actually not a bag brand, it's a high end fashion house which just happens to also make bags. 🙃 It's actually my favourite brand overall, clothes, jewellery and yes, bags as well. I have four of them. Brilliant quality, too. But yes, it's boho - which is why I love them so much.
I have two of the mini Alexa’s from Mulberry and I adore them. No issues with the magnets, easy in and out. Super soft leather, great colors and fit a ton…I also have two Strathberry, very well made and classic style.
My Givenchy gripe is that the crossbody strap comes off while you are walking because of how they attach. I'm surprised they haven't fixed it yet. I've almost dropped my Lucrezia bag on the ground multiple times while walking. I had to buy attachment pieces to keep the strap attached to the bag.
Such great points! When the signature style isnt for you, it can definitely rule out the whole brand. I 100% agree on if the brand is maintaining people in power who profit from causing harm, that they are taking a stance that the behavior is acceptable.
Every time I see a video of yours go up, I think… Yay! She hasn’t left us! You are a logical knowledgeable breath of fresh air in the luxury community.
I was ready to fight because I'm such a fan of Mulberry, but your comments on Alexa are valid. However, you can't an entire brand based one bag's design. Mulberry's one of the few somewhat environmentally conscious luxury handbag companies that stick to the concept of having bags that last. And their prices as a luxury brand are reasonable to their products.
The only Strathberry bag that I do really like and might actually buy is the East/West shoulder bag. I think it's a nice design for an occasion bag where you're not really getting in and out of your bag often.
I have the strathberry in the mini and love it. It really is beautiful with the metal bar and is not annoying at all... totally agree with your other choices.
me too, i was gifted a strathberry midi tote about a year ago and love it so much that i ended up buying two more in different colors, i can't get enough of the strathberry totes. was even shocked when it got mentioned lol
Mulberry Alexa is either a love it or hate it, just like Durian 🤭🤭 i own my Mulberry Alexa for 10 years and im still loving it, u don't need to break the bank to get a good quality leather.
I haven't bought any Mulberry for the same reason. I do love the Strathberry midi tote in the croc embossed leather, it is just too pretty and I like how they leave the card of the person who (I think) finished your bag in there. It is quite beautiful for my personal taste. But hardware is so tricky for each person so it's no big deal who does or doesn't like something. It's all personal preference. I will say I got it on sale for less than what a Chanel card holder runs so I was super pleased about that 😄 👌
As long as you love it, that's what matters! I definitely have seen the rise in Strathberry, like you said, as royals have been wearing it. But yes, it certainly just comes down to personal preference!
Haha I love Mulberry but your points are cute. Good reference for people who share the same kind of feeling with you when deciding which brands to buy.
I completely agree, D&G is absolutely horrific the things they've said and done. Just out of curiousity would you buy Preloved D&G? As much as I can't stand them either, I do from time to time buy Preloved because the item itself is beautiful. It's that age of question of can an artist be separated from their work. For me I made the choice to buy Preloved D&G, not to support the brand. But for myself. The very few items got under my skin and I didn't want who they are, to spoil the enjoyment of the item. That being said I'll always stand by not supporting them. It's Preloved for for me with no branding and I don't give it as much care as other things in my collection.
I think that if you still want to buy, preloved is definitely the way to go. I also agree that avoiding branding can be important. Not proclaiming that you're wearing their products, which is another way to support them. But it's tricky! It comes down to what you're comfortable with.
@@classicswithaquirk Completely agree. Watching your videos I've come to see were similar in the ways of investing in pieces from brands that mean something personally, so even wearing D&G it can feel tricky. But that's the luxury world sometimes, sometimes it's not that deep and it's okay to love an item for what it is rather than it's history. It's such a shame they've ruined their name and brand. For some it's all about causing controversy to hype up their products. I'd love to hear what you think of Alexander McQueen leather one day
Good list!! What is sad is my favorite bag is the Balenciaga Moto/City range. Originally introduced by Nicolas Ghesquière during his time leading the fashion house until 2012. I have about 15 of the same bag but in different colors. I adore them. I won’t stop wearing them although I won’t buy anything as long as Demna is with the house. I don’t like any of his designs anyhow. But I’m certainly not getting rid of my vintage Balenciaga!
I don't think you should get rid of it! Ghesquiere did some great things for the brand and there's no reason why things he did should be thought of as equal to denma. But it's a tricky situation. You feel like you need to explain yourself, "no, I don't support who is in power now, but there wasn't anything wrong with the older stuff"
I totally agree bag functionality is important so ease of getting in and out of a bag is a must. So i suspect getting in and out of a Birkin or Kelly is harder than the brands you mentioned here but you do own Hermes. Perhaps its also the look you dislike of these brands, not just ease of bag use?
I had no idea about D&G. I looked it up on the net and wow the number of articles and controversies by Stefano is horrendous. I am surprised that anyone is still buying from them. I would never. Thanks for putting a spotlight on it. It helps to be informed about these brands. We need to know where our money is going and who we are supporting.
There aren’t brands that I “definitely” won’t buy… But I think with all the things and bags I want from my favorite brands, there just wont be funds left over for those not so favorite ones 😅 TYFS ❤ Kiki
Yep YSL is having a price increase on May 1 in the USA. My sa confirmed this info. I did not expect this price increase to happen because LV was expect to have price increase in Feb and they did not. I was thinking YSL would skip this May increase (just like LV) due to the inflation and low sale rate. Btw, Gucci had a price increase this month as well. I bought my Gucci horsebit 1955 small shoulder back in Feb of this year for $1,150 and now that bag is $1,200 in April. Plus I noticed the other bags had increase in price as well.
Thank you for the additional confirmation. I guess we’ll see what goes up and by how much 😬 I did think I noticed that some bags in Gucci went up, but I haven’t been checking them as regularly so I didn’t know for sure.
With regard to Mulberry many of their bags do not have the plate that you dislike, the Iris, Seaton, Axel, Amberley to name just a few have no plate maybe give them another look
Great video, I agree with Mulberry, I want to like it but just don't get excited about it. I do have a Givenchy soft antigona I bought on a whim and it's become one of my most used bags.
The reason I'm not interested in Chloe is that the bags are heavy! I tried a Chloe Paddington way back in 2005 when it was the It bag and omg that thing was so heavy without anything even in it!
Givenchy is definitely an acquired taste, but it's personally my top-tier brand. I'm a cis man and I tend toward goth/punk/grunge aesthetic myself (but I nonetheless love handbags), so I'm drawn to the designs because they look masculine, contemporary and a bit aggressive. But by the same logic, I don't tend toward more equestrian type brands personally. I guess I just think Givenchy probably looks better with thrashed denim than something from Hermes, Loewe, or even Delveaux (much as I love looking at all of the above). Though I've also been really getting into Ferragamo lately, so my tastes like to contradict sometimes 😅
I have one Strathberry and love it. My daughter wants one in dark green. These “luxury” brands have gotten so damned overpriced. I’d love to have a “Lady Dior”….not for $5500. Brahmin and Dooney can also get my money. Thanks for the info on D&G.
I won’t buy from Chanel(unless it’s vintage),LV, and most of the ones you mentioned. Givenchy is okay. They have a few styles I like but nothing that makes me go insane over. And of course Balenciaga and D&G are horrible and I don’t own a single piece from either fashion house. Lately, I’m super into Ferragamo, Marant, Mark Cross, Tod’s, Valextra, Ralph Lauren(Both Collection and Polo), Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, and A.P.C.
I feel the same way about the tory burch logo, i hate that logo. Strathberry has one brand new bag out now that i just saw, and i really want it. It's a mosaic bag, not the tote. It's a new top handle bag. I really, really want that bag. I wish they had more color combos, though. I don't like Mulberry's metal plate either. Chloé isn't my style either, and definitely not Balenciaga. I have 3 girls, and i will never purchase anything from them.
Totally agree with the Strathberry bar -- very fiddly. And the only Mulberry bags I've ever been drawn to are the ones without that metal plate -- the Amberley and the version of the Bayswater that wants to be a Birkin. I actually really like the closure/hardware on the Amberley, but I hate the top of the bag. And the Bayswater I don't like the "wings" on the sides -- they can never quite manage to make a bag that is quite on the mark, as far as my design aesthetic goes.
Ha! nice to come across a video that states "WHY" you don't like a bag. I think this is just as important as Why you do like a bag. Agree with your sentiments about not buying from companies that have undesirable values Also agree with Strathberry. I think they're beautifully made but I'm one of those who don't understand the bar thing across all their bags. But the Mosaic has the shortest bar, so that might be a good one. I also try to research the backstory of each company before I purchase (when it's availble online) and don't buy when I don't agree with their philosophy.
My wife has several DG items (clothing and bags), I can see the items being polorizing but either you love them or hate them 😊 I looked into what you were giving an opinion on and the racist accusations seems to be a massive blunder asking an actress who was chinese to eat italian food with chopsticks, this could be the directors blunder. I see the owners being culturally insensitive not racists. I couldn’t find any statements condeming or accusations of a race by the owners. As for the owners personal belief of gays not having children, that’s his opinion, I wouldn’t publically state that from his position. I have more issues with Nike, Rolex, and Prada, than DG. i own several rolexes and nike shoes too. racism in my opinion is pushing an iniative, agenda or embrace laws which only benefit one gender or race (color of skin) instead of all humanity regardless of sexual preference, gender or race. I am of latino descent - spain in a mixed marriage of race.
Love Mulberry. That is one brand that still has my respect because of their craftsmanship and perfection and service. One brand I will no longer buy is LV. I can’t get over the horrible quality of the monogram canvas and the uneven stitching and uneven placement of the stitching. Uneven leather overlapping. And HOLES in the thinner canvas. The SA’s claim it’s handmade. Uh. By whom? I know how leather is stitched by hand, and if it was, it would be PERFECT like it was years ago with my much older bags. The bags they put out now is just plain trash. And overpriced. I bought the high rise and the Diane this weekend. They both went back the next day. I’m so disappointed with this house I can’t see myself giving them my business. Not for this cheap factory assembly line looking stuff. I turned around and made my way to Tory Burch and she took my money because it’s QUALITY over name every single time. If I ever do LV, it’s pre-loved all the way to before 2015. Maybe 2005. And Balenciaga is just plain no. Not after the stunt they pulled with the children. 🤢
The Mulberry Alexa is incredibly annoying to open! I held it for less than 30 seconds and was so done, never to be picked up again haha! My mind immediately jumped to Chloe when you mentioned Givenchy and trendiness. I understand your feelings on D&G. I don't have any of their bags. I do have some secondhand clothes. It's disappointing because I love that romantic Italian style, but I haven't been willing to buy new yet.
Agree with all all of it, you said all the same reasons why I won't. Never liked any Mulberry design, the Antigona I was considering before but didn't pull the trigger. I saw this sunglasses that I like but it's a D&G, Gabbana called Selena Gomez ugly, I don't think I can support a brand that put down others like that.
On the note of Mulberry, I considered getting their version of a WOC, but I never did…I’m glad I didn’t, because I just got a Chanel WOC and I’m in love 🖤 I’ve never really been drawn to Chloe either. The styles are fine, but nothing to write home about.
There’s a leather at Mulberry (forgive me I don’t know it’s name) that ages so beautifully. Every time I see an aged saggy/patina’d one I get tempted, I’m not blown away by the designs however.
Agree w/everything except I did buy a black Nano Tote from Strathberry. My iPhone 12 Pro Max barely fits (expected) but there’s no need to buy another. Next size up is too large for my needs. Thanks for sharing your list.❤
Mulberry has the worst customer care and repair service! I had to repeat 4 times the repair I needed, they take ages to reply an email, don’t answer phone calls. They probably send all repairs to someone who repairs anything. Extremely disappointed, don’t buy Mulberry bags.
That's why I have zero interest to Gucci, even the 3 colours stripe is signature, but all the products looked almost same with brown background colour just boring and too mature.
I'm not sure why this would be okay. It's kind of rude and unnecessary to tell someone you think they're ugly. It's also not relevant to any conversation. What am I supposed to do with this? Was there a purpose to you telling me this, aside from hoping it makes me feel badly about myself?
No, it's not okay, it's just stupid and mean. There's plenty of trolls out there who say things to strangers on the Internet that they would never say IRL, so please don't let comments like this bother you.
Is there a brand you won’t be buying any time soon?
Gucci, Versace, Prada, D&G and Louis Vuitton 👀

Mulberry is a great brand classic British design and craftsmanship at a reasonable price point
Very true! I'm not drawn to their designs, but I have no complaints about the brand otherwise.

Me too I have mulberry bag, Hermes, lv , Gucci, dior etc. Mulberry is such a good quality. ❤ I'll keep buying.
Love my mini Alexa! I did find my small Alexa was a bit heavy for me so it went to my sister!
Is burberry still the good choice for buying polo shirts and long sleeves?
Well said!! It’s such a shame that D&G are so problematic because their clothing is beautiful, but I agree with not supporting bad behavior.
Agreed ❤

Mulberry is my favorite brand.
Different strokes for different folks ☺️
What a lot of rubbish about Mulberry. Please get your facts right and do more research. Mulberry doesn’t only have bags with metal plate…
Oh nooo!! I generalized in regards to something they do a whole lot of!! How very dare I!!
Strathberry also produce gorgeous high quality magnetic closing bags. I wish I owned one.
I've heard of this issue! What a strange design choice
Such great points! When the signature style isnt for you, it can definitely rule out the whole brand. I 100% agree on if the brand is maintaining people in power who profit from causing harm, that they are taking a stance that the behavior is acceptable.

Love your review. Them being environmentally- conscious is a win for me! Thanks!
I love Murberry Lily and have 5 of Mulberry bags, but for "bags that last" they should have a different buckle and have no water staining
The only Strathberry bag that I do really like and might actually buy is the East/West shoulder bag. I think it's a nice design for an occasion bag where you're not really getting in and out of your bag often.
I just bought a Stratberry last night Mosaic bags have no bars ( actually they do, but not as a locker, just as a cute detail.
I love the Chloe Marcie satchel, it’s fantastic leather and fits my casual lifestyle. Choice is good!
As long as you enjoy it, that's what matters ☺️
I have two Mulberry bags. The quality is excellent. I also have Gucci bags. But I use a Mulberry bag every day
I just watched a video on a Strathberry bag and the bar on the closure is magnetic. You don't have to insert the leather strap under it.
That's good to know!
I have the strathberry in the mini and love it. It really is beautiful with the metal bar and is not annoying at all... totally agree with your other choices.

Givenchy’s branding of the antigona confuses me with the sport and soft versions.

I always just tell myself that it’s a good thing if a bag or style doesn’t work for me 😂 no interest, no temptation.
Ha! nice to come across a video that states "WHY" you don't like a bag.
Thank you for watching!
My wife has several DG items (clothing and bags), I can see the items being polorizing but either you love them or hate them 😊
I looked into what you were giving an opinion on and the racist accusations seems to be a massive blunder asking an actress who was chinese to eat italian food with chopsticks, this could be the directors blunder.
It's so disappointing! They have some beautiful designs. I'm so mad they decided to be terrible people 😅
Agree with all all of it, you said all the same reasons why I won't. Never liked any Mulberry design, the Antigona I was considering before but didn't pull the trigger. I saw this sunglasses that I like but it's a D&G, Gabbana called Selena Gomez ugly, I don't think I can support a brand that put down others like that.
💯!
On the note of Mulberry, I considered getting their version of a WOC, but I never did…I’m glad I didn’t, because I just got a Chanel WOC and I’m in love 🖤 I’ve never really been drawn to Chloe either. The styles are fine, but nothing to write home about.
Yeah, an lot of this list is just brands that don't speak to me 😅
Same, don't like the Strathberry metal bars at all. They remind me of dental metal wire retainers.
There’s a leather at Mulberry (forgive me I don’t know it’s name) that ages so beautifully. Every time I see an aged saggy/patina’d one I get tempted, I’m not blown away by the designs however.
Possibly their NVT - natural vegetable tanned leather
They do some beautiful leathers! But same, I don't care for most of their designs.
You're thinking of their Darwin leather.
I just got a pair of vintage Dolce en Gabbana earrings 🤢. And I do like the vintage D&G box bags ...
I think getting preloved pieces are a little different? At least you're not directly funding the brand. But it can be tricky 😔
What are your thoughts about Burberry?
Agree w/everything except I did buy a black Nano Tote from Strathberry. My iPhone 12 Pro Max barely fits (expected) but there’s no need to buy another. Next size up is too large for my needs. Thanks for sharing your list.❤
Thank you for watching!
that tail was too big! what cat is it?4 :58
She's a tortie!
Mulberry has the worst customer care and repair service! I had to repeat 4 times the repair I needed, they take ages to reply an email, don’t answer phone calls. They probably send all repairs to someone who repairs anything. Extremely disappointed, don’t buy Mulberry bags.
Ok CWQ. You peaked my interests
❤your video
Thank you!
That's why I have zero interest to Gucci, even the 3 colours stripe is signature, but all the products looked almost same with brown background colour just boring and too mature.
i hate the kurt geiger bird
Okay to be boring
Yes, you are boring.😂
Thank you for such an intelligent, well thought out comment!
Yes I agree all unattractive bags
Ok, let me also say that I don't like how you look. I hope that it is OK to you that other will say what they mean about you.
Marc JACOB and Chloe for me
