This helped me a lot. I have a 1976 Widgeon. The lines were epoxied in. I drilled into the center and then chipped out the rest with a fine chisel. The epoxy broke up and came out in pieces. Not a bad job. Easier than I expected. Wish I had done this sooner instead of procrastinating.

Hey y’all! Thx for the great video! I just got a 75’ wigeon. I’m following to see your progress. Where did you get that great set of diagrams?

If you join "O'Day owners" on Facebook or the sailboat forums you will find him. I don't want to specifically give out his name. He charges a small fee for them but is very worth it. If he ever decides to stop I will deffinetely be continuing his good will.

Is that the original gelcoat? Have that same shade of orange on my oday ds2 and have struggled to match the shade doing some repair.

Yes it is the original gelcoat and it would be very difficult to match. The gelcoat is much brighter as you can tell near the top side where the metallic striped was removed it is many shades darker. Depending on where your repair is, you could use a complementary color and make the design look more incorporated into the boat. I chose the white because it would do something similar to this.

Why would you do this? Haven’t you just created a pocket to HOLD water and damage the wood and rope

I got mine for a guy on the o'day facebook group. You can also find him on the sailboatowners forums.
