I always felt, to change the Redskins team name, to ask Indigenous people themselves if they like the team name. It matters much more how we treat them.
For 82 years the Redskins have been an iconic name in the NFL. They have given back millions if not hundred of millions back to the community and now because of what is going on they have to lose their proud name. This is a sad time for our country. I will always be a REDSKINS fan and will never call them by any other name. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS, THEN, NOW AND FOREVER.

This song will always make me emotional. I am sure other people can relate to their teams fight songs. But this just reminds me of a time when my family was all together. No drama just good food and high energy. Something that I hope to recreate with my kids some day as this is no longer possible due to family deaths and drama. I hope our team can become something DC is proud of once again. No matter what they are called they will always be my team.
I don’t have a split family, but I sort of relate to the emotions you feel when listening to this. My father and grandmother are diehard Washington Redskin fans, ever since I was a little kid. We still call them “The Redskins.” They only get older with each year now, especially my grandmother and this song just makes me think about them. Gets me sad and happy at the same time, it’s a weird feeling I can’t describe. You’re not alone.
