This should be the same for any 2019-2023 ram 6.7 Cummins. I’m sure the 4th gens (2010-2018) are also very similar.

Nice. I was able to complete it without taking the whole intake horn off. I just took off the egr valve off so i can lay on the engine bay and reach down.
I was able to access 98% of the bolts from underneath the truck. Hardest part was wiggling it through the wiring. First time took about an hour, second time took about 20 min.
Wow! I've never seen an ECM so close to the engine block; what a PITA. You would think that would put too much heat stress on the ECM. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the ECM comes from Cummins, as well, so it's sort of packaged together with the motor. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us; I was wondering where my ECM was on my new Ram Rebel Cummins.
You can also take it out from the side and only disconnect ONE connector! I just done it a few days ago and now I’m reinstalling. I can show ya, just holla back …. Like your videos
How?
Where was this video when I had to do it 😂. I went through the wheel well
Haha sorry bro
@@darkirondiesel No worries! It was about the same labor as what you did I think. Except I like that you didn’t have to put the truck on a Jack stand for your method.
So I got the race me ultra tuner for my 2022 and had no directions on how to do it. I first removed my ecm then hooked tuner up. That was a no go. Then I saw that you have to hook tuner up and get the stock file. Then hook up the new ecm and then put tuner back on. And had to put a code in still not working. Do I have to email race me ultra for my file? Have you messed with the race me tuner?
How do you program the ‘19-‘21 donor ECM with RaceMe Ultra for a ‘22+ replacement?
Why swap the ECM on the 2023? To an earlier version?
I think its because they haven't cracked the ecm on the 2023s yet so people would do it in order to tune the truck, kind of like L5P duramaxes
So you can do delete and program the ECM. 22 and 23 you can do the programming
The 2022-2023 ecms aren’t capable of being programmed yet, so guys swap them out with an ecm from a 2019-2021 Cummins in order to tune them.
@@darkirondiesel how can I reach you? I know you are in Canada. My truck needs a diet and I’d like to talk to you about it.

Hey where in Sask are you located?
My ‘23 after tune no longer has remote start, cruise, and sotf through cruise doesn’t work. My tuner is saying only way he can fix is if I bring the truck to him which is about 12 hours away… ever hear of this?
I haven’t personally but I have heard of a decent amount for issues with the 2022* tuning. Can you just ship the ecm?
Maybe I will bring that up to him. Definitely frustrating as he doesn't seem that willing to help unless i bring or ship the truck which wasn't part of the initial plan at all. I do know everything is still new so people are trying to work out kinks.@@darkirondiesel
Is it about the same for a 4th gen 2018 cummins?
I believe so
Just had a K1 snap ring failure on my Aisin after deleting and tuning. Super bummed. 2022 truck made in Fall of 2022
Oof. Hopefully mine is alright. Can you throw it back to stock for warranty?
Have to check with the specialty shop tomorrow morning as to the cost. Have Banks cold air intake, Monster Ram, boost tubes, and a FAAS fuel system. Would be a ton of labor to undue then re-do after the tranny warranty work. I’m contemplating just eating the whole cost to have this Aisin properly repaired and perhaps totally rebuilt to a higher spec.
Super frustrated and sad. So much money wasted over shit manufacturing.
I kind of wish I had a 68rfe since they have so much more aftermarket upgrades available
@@darkirondiesel same. The 68 shifts and pulls so much better when tuned. It’s a pleasure to drive as opposed to this Aisin. The whole thing feels confused. Off to the shop this morning to see what my options are. Swallowing hard over what’s about to come 🤷♂️
Converted back to stock, got the k1 shaft replaced, and back to deleted. No issues other than I hate the tranny operation. But the rest of the truck is really good (so far). 20,000 k.
hate to be that guy, but it is a PCM
You LOVE to be that guy don’t lie
@@darkirondiesel hahaha true, but pcm ecm ecu same shit i get it
I need a new ECM for my 2019 Ram, 6.7 Cummins so I bought a used one from a 2021 and while the guy was tuning it, it locked up, now it's asking for a theft code, is there a way to unlock it?
😮 This is my fear…
🤌
