Am I the only one who liked this movie? I mean, I know it's a little cheesey, but seriously... what was wrong with it? The actors played their roles almost spot on and it was a lot truer to the comics than the next one was.

It was indeed true to the comics, except for Dr. Doom who was turned into "electro-ironman", however the plot was awful and full of ridiculous coincidences while the script was littered with tired clichés. None of the jokes worked and Dr. Doom wasn't at all frightening or menacing. It was the kind of pleasant "light entertainment " suitable for a T.V. movie but not good enough for cinematic release.

The films biggest strength was its cast, and even Julian would have made for a better Doom if the film had better writing and motivations for his character.

Hate it or not this is so far the best Fantastic Four film to date. Not because it is awesome but because all the other ones suck so bad this one looks good in comparison.

This had a talented cast just very bad writing and direction, the new one had NOTHING going for it at all, if they wanted to make an even more worse movie than batman and robin then they succeeded!

KoroWashere 2 reasons I can think of. 1, They don't know how alternate realities work, 2. They are so dependent on critics that they will never realize that there is no such thing as a good or bad film.

I’m going to be 100% honest this film is underrated & has aged pretty well other than some wonky CGI.
The casting for the fantastic four was perfect, the design for the thing was outstanding, & the actor who played doom killed it.
I'm just glad I stick to enjoying the OG wonky Marvel movies since I got sick of watching the MCU, I even got sick of the other opinion expressors forcing me to hate these movies.

IMO, they got the tone of the comic MUCH better than the 2015 remake. The Four are supposed to be lighthearted. They're a family first, and superheroes second. What we got in Fant4stic was a bunch of deadpanned toneless automatons that just happened to be lumped together into a superhero team. Moving beyond the lack of life in the 2015 characters, none of them were heroic in the slightest. Hell, Reed abandoned his other friends midway through the film, and they practically bullied their way into getting the Baxter Building to themselves at the end. The Fantastic Four would NEVER DO THAT.
This movie was more faithful to the characters. They had great connections with each other, and you could tell that despite the spats they got in, they all cared for each other. However, what this movie missed about the Fantastic Four was the scientist/explorer aspect of the group. The appeal of the comic in the sixties was the family dynamic combined with the strange and weird places that the group traveled to. None of the Fantastic Four film adaptations got this blend right. What Holly wood needs to do is take the Incredibles and give it more of a Doctor Who kind of tone. THAT is the ideal Fantastic Four movie.
Human Torch was the only real hero in the 2015 movie, he said he didn't want to be cured so he could use his powers for good.
***** I gotta give props to Michael B Jordan for doing what he could in Fant4stic. He was the clear choice for the role of Johnny Storm, and heck; I'd love to see him do it again under a better director.

Always loved how they don't throw a single punch but collectively use their powers to bring down the enemy. This is refreshing in an era of the conventional 1v1 fistfight we see all the time.
I thought the way they defeated Dr. Doom was good. All had a part in it and Dr. Doom is still alive...just frozen.

I don't blame Michael B. Jordan on his role, neither any of the other cast members, it's just that Fox edited the movie very wrong, and a weak screenplay too.

This movie is still awesome. All these years later, still awesome. The New Doom has large shoes to fill. Julian McMahon did a good job as Doom in this movie and the sequel.

Honestly, I love this movie as much as the original Spiderman. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but it isn't laughing at itself either, the perfect balance for adapting Marvel comics

Honestly I don't see why these movies get so much hate. Yes the villains are different than their comic versions...but the characters are lovable. There is great humor, you really feel for the characters, and the fight at the end is sooo much better than the new one. Plus the actors are perfect for their roles.

The new cast for the new Fantastic 4 movie i dont think will be as good as the original cast. Everyone is getting all upset that the human torch is black and all that i personally am not pissed like most people. I dont like that hes black simply because in the comic he wasnt, but its an adaptation and not just that but its a remake of an adaptation and when films remake a comic book movie like this one alot of things usually change like in the amazing spiderman 2 Harry never had some osborn curse that would cause him to die in the future. Even though this was very different from the comic i can accept the new take on the character because whether its the comic or not his father dies in the new movie, he is still lost in his mind, feels like his best friend betrayed him, feels like no one cares about him. you know what that is still harry. As long as everyone making the film is telling a good enough story with respect to the characters personalities and abilities i can overlook some problems like torch being black i just dont think the cast will be better then the original

My only issue with this movie is their treatment of Sue. In both films they give excuses for her to be naked, and make her struggle the most to push her powers to the limit.

It seems that people were way too impatient back in 2005. Dr Doom was not powerful enough? YES, that's true. But that's because his powers were NEW to him. Like a child that has to learn how to walk, he still had do discover how to use his powers 100% (as well as his magical abilities) Dr Doom only scratched the surface of what he was capable of in both movies. Because he just didn't gave enough experience yet. If we hadn't hated so much on both movies, there sure would've been a whole movie arc about him, Doom growing stronger in each one until he's at his final form. Too bad we couldn't wait to see what else they had in store with the Fantastic 4. Also, Julian McMahon was perfect and he liked the role very much.
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd look at this and think this was the "good" live action version of Fantastic Four. However, that pile of schlock movie "Fan4stick" released last week changed my mind.
