Got mine a week ago. Was undecided on this or LG GL850. This monitor is a beast. The colors pop & it runs butter smooth. I also connected a PS4 Pro to it. Looks ok but unfortunately the PS4 doesn’t support 1440 but hopefully the PS5 will. Anyway very happy with it thus far!
I'm glad to hear you are happy with your order! I've also been using this with my PS4, and I really hope it'll be compatible with the PS5 like you said. I guess we will all see soon as more information gets disclosed about the new generation.
The LG gl850 and this omen have the same nano IPS panel, so it would have come down to looks and if 144hz to 165hz makes a difference to you. They both would have looked the same, only difference being factory calibration and panel variance because of factory tolerances.
@@chrisperez3007 It will, but I would suggest something that has the capability of running 4k! This way you can take full advantage of the graphics and so on that will come with the new generation of consoles. 👀
@@MRMAD9 From my understanding not a huge difference from 165hz and 4k when gaming on a 27inch screen. The differences are not noticeable to the naked I iv heard. They say your only going to notice 4k are larger screens
@@jeremiahalmos2643 Well that's a good thing for me then!! I wasn't planning on getting a new monitor or tv! I'm stuck with this one for good. Thanks for clarifying 👍🏽.
My input on this monitor. I just bought it yesterday and I have a 3070 and i9 10700k in my pc. It comes with a display port cable so you can receive the 165hz. Which is very noticeable coming from 60hz. If you guys do not have a pc or next gen console then you shouldn’t need a monitor that does 144+ hz unless you’re running Xbox at 120 or preparing to upgrade. Think of your hz correlating with your fps. Cyberpunk looks great on this monitor. I play competitively in warzone and I will say the colors look washed out. When you overclock the monitor to do 1ms response time. i do notice inverse ghosting. It’s a shame the native is 5ms for this price. Today After work I will mess with my graphics settings and see if I can get this issue resolved. I have 37 days played in warzone, so if I can’t get it resolved I will return the monitor. The build quality is phenomenal along with the rgb lighting. You can manage all of your monitor settings with the omen control center. You can download it from the MS store. Overall, I’m not sure if this monitor is worth $500 because of the washed out look but hopefully I can figure it out because the 165hz is a game changer coming from 60hz. It’s a competitive market in this price range. So do your research! I do have a cyberpunk wallpaper with bright pinks and teals that look amazing. I think once I adjust my gpus settings it will be well worth the growing pains.
@InsaneActual my computer is ok I have 4070. And don’t care about fps. Rdr2 I can play 60 fps 2k + I don’t want to set settings for best fps but lose quality of picture. I’m only worry that if I will have less fps than hertz of monitor I will lose quality of picture, than if I had monitor with less hertz? . I saw video about aoc monitor 165 hertz and the guy told that if you play 60 fps there pic of game loooks bad

Hello Miguel I plan on buying this monitor soon. After owning it since June 2020 would you still recommend it? I need it for PC gaming only no console. What games have you played on it? noticed any blur at all on high refresh rate? Appreciate your input.
Hey -- Thanks for reaching out! I currently use this monitor for just about all my gaming, which can range from playing Valorant to COD or Destiny. This monitor can handle it all! Sometimes I can tell that it's not the crispiest monitor (in terms of graphics), but for the most part, it's been amazing! This is a quality monitor that I have been using every day while I stream or doing work.
Backlight bleed is basically none. Ips glow is kinda bad in the left corner, I returned my first one because of it and the 2nd is the same. Just looks like the brightness is turned way up in the left corner. Overall great though.
@@lazerdog345 Great explanation. I actually didn't think this was a common thing... I currently face the same problem, but not too concerned about it. I like the monitor a lot!
Miguel Diaz if you are playing a darker game and it’s getting distracting, tilt the monitor slightly up and raise it. Helps eliminate a lot of the glow.
Thanks for the review. You mentioned you use it as well for creative work? How is your experience there? I am torn between the 27i and 27x, having an amd 5600xt and also needing the screen for some creative work.
27X is a TN panel that is a BIG NO NO for creative work. They have terrible color accuracy and very poor viewing angles. Get the 27i instead that is a proper IPS panel!
turn performance mode as default in the PS5 settings, only some games supports high refresh rates like COD and a few others at 1080p, but you’re not gonna get. 164 hz at most you get 120
Gotcha thank you! Yeah I figured out what to do.... I was running an el gato 4K pro through my pc to stream my ps5 through stream labs and I had to directly connect my ps5 hdmi into the monitor and got the 120fps. Thanks again
@@myshitonyoutube You should not pay to much attention to that due to panel variation and exactly where the measurement is taken and in which temperature the measurement was made. In a normal lit room or even in a moderately lit room 600:1 or 1000:1 which is the typical range for IPS panel makes no difference for the experience of black levels. All IPS panels tend to feel the same! What makes a difference is panel variation, bezel design (too much clamping force or incorrect mount will lead to pressure points causing backlight bleed) and the reflex filter used. All that in combination will determine the experience as far as black levels and contrast go. I would say this Omen 27i is very similar to the LG Ultragear GL850-B version with this very same panel. In general this Omen 27i is an awesome monitor in it's price range. Most people will be happy with it!
