One of Carmen’s first hits.He really was an underrated composer.Of course I suppose Boo Hoo was his biggest hit but my personal favorite was Seems Like Old Times. What a great band! The passing of a wonderful era that I guess may never come again.Well, mayby in a hundred years or so.What a shame!

The Guy Lombardo sax players had vibrato you could hang a coat on.

The little girl? Guy himself tells us who she is in the original 1955 TV programme. She was no relation. Her name is Diane Wheeler, sitting with her mother and father. Apparently she had asked Carmen to sing one of his songs. This was what he chose for her.

    1950s????
"Coquette" is a 1928 fox trot jazz standard. It was composed by Johnny Green and Carmen Lombardo, with lyrics by Gus Kahn.

@mattjh192 My thought is that it was in the early '50s . They were quite popular, with their LombardoLand radio broacasts prior to TV. There were, as you probably know, many big bands during that era, so I can only conclude that they were not "corny". .
If they were "corny", the other Big Bands must have been also.
Anyways, good music and Enjoy eh!!

I think this would be called a "Foxtrot" although the meter is slow. The recording quality is 40's or later but the arrangement is much earlier, with the instrumental coming first and the vocal second.

@mattjh192 Yes, Satchmo did like them. I was not aware of the Jazz-Lombardo problem.
I have read somewhere that some films for their TV show were made in the early '50s.
It would be interesting to know the exact dates as there is little info on the web about this matter.

Probably an actor. This was a regular series of the very early 1950s with each episode showcasing the band, its music and a featured musical guest. To my knowledge, none of the episodes showed actual public engagements-- i.e. all of the dancers and audience were actors or extras.

Any reason that the girl is at best 12 years old? I understand the concept of the coquette, however I thought that the coquette was a woman who flirted girlishly and wasn't actually a young girl.
