I have a feeling if you are going to continue to explore this amazing world in the future, you will have to alter the way you travel and the precautious you take. I hope things will eventually allow you to travel once again.
most of the things you hear badly about Brazil is because the press doesn't like Bolsonaro. There is nothing different happening here that has not happened in other countries. my city has 5 million inhabitants, i know people who had covid, i don't know anyone who died and the hospitals built just for covid did not receive patients because normal hospitals are taking care of it. the press is on the left and is in a fight with the bolsonaro. because he took public money from them.
also, driking even warm coffee is considered offensive. we want coffee hot, and all the time, so it makes sense to drink multiples and in small quantities.
I had the same feeling when I went to Brazil. I felt it was like the US, I mean people from different colours and races everywhere, Whites, Asians, Arabs, Blacks it was confusing to know who was a tourist or who was a local. I used to address to anybody in English but very funny when they reply me back in Portuguese
That's right lol but if you know little of Spanish, we manage to communicate a bit, due to the similarity of the two languages. *May not always work, thought.
I practically never comment on RUclips videos but as a brazilian living abroad I've found quite interesting some stuff you pointed out and here's my thoughts: #10 Yes, in Brazil the way you dress reveals more about you than your skin tone. So, if you all dressed at the beach or hanging a camera in front your chest, we know you're probably a tourist. #9 Drinking coffee after dinner it's definitely not common sense in Brazil. It's more for an mid's age person's habit or coffee affictionists. That woman really loves coffee, but most people only drinks eventually, and some don't even like it. #8 Plus, it's not really rare to drink coffee on what we call an "american glass", slightly bigger than those tea-cups we've seen on this video. So, if you're thinking our coffee cup it's too small, it's because you've probably never drank coffee in Italy hahaha , that's small!!! #7 Number of cheek kisses it really depends and varies according to the area, but 3 kisses it's more likely to single people I guess, but despite of that, it can be very popular in some places. If you're married or have a partner, it can be sound a bit needless 3 kisses. It's kinda personal, but no one will be rude to you because of that. But let's say if you're on a party and a friend of you come with someone to introduce to you, it can be very normal to kiss 3 times. For me, one is enough. #6 Food by weight, most known as "self-service" by brazilians. Very popular. #5 About the sellers at the beach... well, they're clever 😂 don't give them a chance. #4 Eating pizza with fingers... well, that's what convinced me to leave a comment. It's simple, indeed: it's hygienic, and it's cultural. Some people might find it's common but for most brazilian, we'd rather use a fork and knife. At home, and informally, eventually we may do that. Napkins are necessary all the time, and that's what shocked me most when I first came to London. Why the hell the food don't come accompanied with napkins? Nowadays we're always holding our smartphones, getting the public transport, etc. That's dirty! How people dare... I don't get it 🤔 Also, in Brazil it's very common to see the pastries, burguers and hot dogs being served on a small plastic "bag", so you can eat without messing it all while you keep your hands clean. #3 We usually go to beach to do stuff we can't do inside our houses, haha. 😂 That's why we usually don't enjoy reading books or stuff like that on the beach. Plus, not all of us are fans of the "banana hammocks". We also love the board shorts as we can see on the video, but yer, that speedo-style it's very popular. #2 Well, skin contact it's another thing very cultural. It's kinda way to demonstrate we like you or we're well involved on a chat. #1 Yerr, +3 points to Rio. Thank you for this video featuring the best of Rio. 🇧🇷♥️ I wish you can visit us again and experience always the best from our people.
I am the grandson of Italians, my girlfriend is the granddaughter of Japanese, we were born in Brazil, when we travel the world, NO ONE knows where we came from hahaha We love the channel! See you around the world :)
I laugh everytime: "Oh, the coffe is so small, i want a big cup!" *Sips an espresso* "OMG, IT'S SO STROOOONG!" I'm amused everytime an American asks for big coffee cups expecting their (respectfully) weak ass tea-coffe heheh (we call it Americano here, or popularly "chafé", which is chá + café -> tea + coffee) Our coffe may look come in a little tea cup, but american coffe just tastes like tea hahaha And fun fact, the strong coffe comes mainly from the Italian heritage in Brazil, though other south american cultures also like good strong coffee!
I don't live in Brazil, but an espresso in my country is a standard. I was so confused when they basically were shocked by an espresso and its small cup. Also, most people in my country hate American coffee, that's partly why Starbucks didn't succeed in my country.
As a brazilian and having grown up in Rio de Janeiro, I found so interesting hearing your impressions! Specially because I never noticed some of these features as being from our own culture ( eating pizza with forks and knives; the coffee ritual; the napkin and cleanliness thing😅). A few remarks: 1) The coffee after dinner is not really a thing in Brazil 2) Caipirinha or any other booze in the middle of the day is not common if you are working 3) You see men wearing speedos only in some cities. Swimming shorts are really popular too. Everything else sounds somewhat accurate
@PlaXer @Sávio Maia @vandoxe they make it sound that speedos is the only option. That’s not true. Some places like Sao Paulo, swimming shorts are more popular. Regarding coffee after dinner, a few people do it, but that doesn’t make it “a thing” like they said.
In the South we had more Italian, German and Polish immigrants more Native Americans. In the North it is more common to mix Native Americans with Portuguese In the Northeast is the mixture of Portuguese, indigenous, africans and Dutch In the Southeast are Japanese, Italians, Africans, Lebanese and Portuguese In the center west are more the mixture of Portuguese, Spanish and indigenous. The presence of one or another ethnic group varies greatly from state to state, in general the majority of Brazilians are of mixed race. We currently have immigrants from all regions of the globe. I myself am a mixture of Jewish, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, African, French and indigenous hahaha.

Actually there are many "Brazils" in only one (accents, foods, tradictions), but I have to say that I loved the way they described it. A very sensitive view of the hospitality and ernergy of brazilian people. Yes, we are great! :) Thanks!
Sejam sempre bem vindos ao Brasil 🇧🇷❤🇧🇷👍. .. Welcome !
thank you !!!:D
So sad to see Brazil is suffering so much from the Coronavirus now. Glad you were able to see it before things got really serious. I have a feeling if you are going to continue to explore this amazing world in the future, you will have to alter the way you travel and the precautious you take. I hope things will eventually allow you to travel once again.
Here more than one million people beat the corona virus
most of the things you hear badly about Brazil is because the press doesn't like Bolsonaro.
@@maretupi you're dumb. don't even know your own country.
@@maretupi #ForaBolsonaro
Bolsonaro sucks
Many Brazilians like to drink coffee throughout the day. For this reason, there are small cups for small portions.
also, driking even warm coffee is considered offensive. we want coffee hot, and all the time, so it makes sense to drink multiples and in small quantities.
Because Portugal colonized them..
Haha, when I stepped in USA I was like: DAM LOOKS LIKE I SPENT 10 HOURS IN A PLANE TO GO BACK TO SÃO PAULO!!!

That's right lol but if you know little of Spanish, we manage to communicate a bit, due to the similarity of the two languages.
*May not always work, thought.
I practically never comment on RUclips videos but as a brazilian living abroad I've found quite interesting some stuff you pointed out and here's my thoughts:
#10 Yes, in Brazil the way you dress reveals more about you than your skin tone.
Im very proud about our "skin contact"
I am the grandson of Italians, my girlfriend is the granddaughter of Japanese, we were born in Brazil,
when we travel the world, NO ONE knows where we came from hahaha
We love the channel! See you around the world :)
I laugh everytime:
"Oh, the coffe is so small, i want a big cup!"
*Sips an espresso*
"OMG, IT'S SO STROOOONG!"
I'm amused everytime an American asks for big coffee cups expecting their (respectfully) weak ass tea-coffe heheh (we call it Americano here, or popularly "chafé", which is chá + café -> tea + coffee)
Our coffe may look come in a little tea cup, but american coffe just tastes like tea hahaha
And fun fact, the strong coffe comes mainly from the Italian heritage in Brazil, though other south american cultures also like good strong coffee!
You thought you would insult their coffee?
I don't live in Brazil, but an espresso in my country is a standard. I was so confused when they basically were shocked by an espresso and its small cup. Also, most people in my country hate American coffee, that's partly why Starbucks didn't succeed in my country.
@@AsimoTan Exactly that. Where is your country, friend, may I ask?

@@AsimoTan Cool! I'd love to visit Israel someday..! And good to know that you have good espresso there hahaha
As a brazilian and having grown up in Rio de Janeiro, I found so interesting hearing your impressions! Specially because I never noticed some of these features as being from our own culture ( eating pizza with forks and knives; the coffee ritual; the napkin and cleanliness thing😅). Yes, Brazil is a diverse country and there are remarkable cultural diferences even between our states and regions. You should visit Minas Gerais cities, Belém do Pará, Recife and you'll be one more time amazed by our cultural diversity. 🤗💚💛
Oh man, I wish I could come to Brazil as a tourist. Too bad I live in Brazil.

The best places to visit in Brazil:
Florianópolis
Gramado
Rio de Janeiro
Salvador
Salinas de Maragogi
Lençóis Maranhenses
Fernando de Noronha
Amazônia
As a Brazilian I would recommend those places
Thank you!
@@DivertLiving You guys would REALLY love Noronha.
Lençóis maranhenses são lindos
I would add Bonito-MS and Chapada dos Guimarães to that as well, also when saying "amozônia" I would recommend going to Belém-Pará, definitely a diffenrent side of Brazil!
And for a more historical visit we have amazing cities here in Minas Gerais, such as Ouro Preto and Diamantina. We don't have beaches but we do have waterfalls and lakes.
I am Brazilian and I just loved your video. I'll search for more. Congrats!
A few remarks:
1) The coffee after dinner is not really a thing in Brazil
2) Caipirinha or any other booze in the middle of the day is not common if you are working
3) You see men wearing speedos only in some cities.
Yes. You look like Brazilians. Actually Brazil is very diverse, so anyone can look like a Brazilian.
In the South we had more Italian, German and Polish immigrants more Native Americans.
In the North it is more common to mix Native Americans with Portuguese
In the Northeast is the mixture of Portuguese, indigenous, africans and Dutch
In the Southeast are Japanese, Italians, Africans, Lebanese and Portuguese
In the center west are more the mixture of Portuguese, Spanish and indigenous.
We love to breed with the world
Brasielira loca surtada
Coffee in Brazil is basically expresso shots that’s why it’s served in a small cup :)
The cup that can keeps us going for 3 days straight 😂
As someone who's beeb to brazil too, I agree and love the fact that there is no typical brazilian look. And everyone was super friendly!

Always welcome to Brazil! In another opportunity you should get to know São Paulo, the largest Japanese community outside Japan (from all over the world together) with the Chinese, Korean, Lebanese and Italian. They should go to Ouro Preto (State of Minas Gerais), a city of eclectic colonial architecture (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and irresistible Minas Gerais food, which is the best of all in Brazil among many. I liked your videos, congratulations.
We really want to visit there!
I invite you to visit my state in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul. We have a strong German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish influence. Serra Gaúcha is one of the most beautiful regions in the country.

YOOOO, that guy in orange tank top playing the pandeiro was my History teacher in high school. He was the best teacher I've ever had.
His name is Andre Diniz and he's also a great composer in one of the majors Samba Schools in Rio de Janeiro (Unidos de Vila Isabel). So nice to see him doing what he loves, in the place that he loves...
This is a very charming city, I hope I can visit again sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
