Thank you Jordan for bringing us this extended tour of Westwood Cemetery. Many of the gravestones manage to reflect the character, the career and even the humour of the celebrity they mark. Although you have visited many times, for some reason when filmed in it's entirety with the shrubs and flowers in full bloom - Westwood really impressed! Great vlog.

It's sad that the lipstick problem isn't limited to Marilyn's crypt. They have the same issue at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. A worker there told me they power wash Marilyn's footprints on a very frequent basis.
I wish people would pay their respects to Marilyn and quit this copycat kissing nonsense.

Regarding Hef being encrypted next to Marilyn. We've heard in her own recorded words that basically she never met Hef and was not a fan of Hef. And Hef cashed into eternity, next to Marilyn because he thought her nude photos were the reason his magazine immediately was a success. I think you're correct when you said Marilyn probably wouldn't be happy he's within a couple of feet away from her resting site.

When I was there a few years ago at Westwood, I was surprised to find Evelyn Moriarty, Marilyn Monroe's stand-in, is right near Heather O' Rourke I believe. Miss Moriarty adored Marilyn and always spoke very highly of her. She said in one documentary that "Marilyn was "the realest person I ever knew." While I was there, I was also very surprised to come across the graves of Anna Lower and Grace Goddard. I'm sure you know those names. They are the reason that Joe DiMaggio had Marilyn interred there. Her beloved "Aunt" Anna, and Grace Goddard was Marilyn's mother's dear friend that was Marilyn's foster mother at one time. Supposedly she's the one that always told Norma Jean that she was going to be a big star someday. If I'm remembering correctly, their resting places are over in the area where Jim Backus was.

The service was very interesting then afterwards we’d walk around to see who’s marker we missed or were new burials. The one marker we wanted to see was Roy Orberson (sp?) who is buried there but no marker. Sorry but Archie Bunker was a great funny guy on a TV show that wasn’t racists but a funny show. Great vlog Jordan, very calming and peaceful. I've always thought and believed the slab vault that holds Marilyn Monroe while very humble like the actress she was just doesn't suit the enormous stature and presence of what is no doubt Hollywood's most enduring and beloved screen star. I do wish she was laid to rest in a plot for herself like the sizeable ones that Farrah Fawcett, Peter Falk and Jack Lemmon has, but I reckon Marilyn had no one looking out for her towards the end of life with her mother locked away and no siblings. Her resting place was out of her control as it seems.

You forgot actor Robert Stack. He also used to host Unsolved Mysteries. I remember when I visited that cemetery, his remains were cremated in an urn and placed behind a locked mausoleum

Lew Ayres was a great actor in the early 30s. His best known role was "All Quiet on the Western Front," which won the Best Picture Oscar.

Very interesting how some have extravagant gravesites and others, who are famous, with simple grave stones!! I’m surprised that Roy Orbison doesn’t have a stone!! I didn’t know about his kids passing!! So sad…😢
    Thanks!!

Love when you do the cemetery Vlogs. Our question to you is because we’re not familiar with the type of graves like where Marilyn Monroe and Hugh Hefner are when they’re tall like that and there’s multiple people above them and next to them does that mean that they’ve been cremated or are they actually like entombed behind there, just curious where we live in Utah we only see the inground burials.

They are entombed there. A lot of the smaller crypts are cremations, but these are coffin interments.

Thank you so much Jordan, Hope you're doing well, and your little Dog Jah, Is that his name?? I probably misspelled it. I was hoping to see Natalie Wood's Resting place. There are so many Laid to Rest there.

Jordan, I recently found out that Marilyn Monroe had an older sister, who looked a lot like her. Very few people are aware that Maryland had a half-sister. And that Marilyn still has family alive today. Can you do a Vlog on this most interesting story?
