After living and working in Madrid for nine years, it's so nice to see the city through the eyes of first-timers and be reminded of all the things that made it so magical when I first moved here. Thanks for sharing! Also, when you guys were talking about wanting to live here for a few months, it made me laugh because everyone says the same thing when they move here. My partner and I were supposed to only be here a year, and now it's been nine haha.

11:10. The door just behind your ear corresponds to Casa de los Lujanes (Lujan's family house). It is the oldest civil building in Madrid (there are lots of older ones all over Spain). A curiosity: In the tower next to the house, just in the left part of the image, Francis the 1st of France (the first owner of La Gioconda) lived as a prisoner for some months after being caught during the battle of San Quentin

I came to Madrid in 1997, instantly fell in love with the place, then soon after with an adorable Spanish señorita, who is now my wife, never went back to UK, never will (especially after Brexit), still love it as much as I did almost 26 years ago. Only complaint is too hot in summer, better in winter, Spring, autumn (my favourite sesaon). So glad you guys liked my adopted city so much. You must return!

Confidence is definitely building, thank you! I think the reason for not being more in camera view is because of my job. I wouldn’t be around much when Em was filming and when I was, I’d be locked away focussed on work so an element of it was work but ultimately I didn’t have the appetite to be in front of a camera. Since the new channel, Em has given me huge encouragement and I’m enjoying sharing our experiences with you guys. I like to be informative. Em loves a good chat 😂 - B x

I highly recommend you to visit the Atlantic coast the next time you visit Spain, cities as San Sebastián, Bilbao or Santiago are completely different from what you see on the Mediterranean or inland Spain :)
Our original plan was to visit Bilbao, but we just didn’t have enough time and I’m so gutted we didn’t. Spain is so vast, we could easily spend 2/3 months there alone 😎 - B x
