  • Can England Bring it Home? England World Cup Tactics
    Check Out Soccerment for in-depth Statistics: bit.ly/3U3vOn5
    England were statistically speaking the best team in the world cup group stages, with 7 points and the best goal difference of +7. Their impressive 3-0 win against Senegal in the first knockout round solidified their impressive form, and look set to give any of the favourites a run for their money. But can England continue this impressive form against much tougher opponents such as France, In todays video we’re going to be taking a look at what England are doing right, and why a shift from the 4231 to the 433 might be southgates best decision Yet.
    So far, England have scored 12 goals in 4 matches, and have only conceded twice in the whole competition. However, its the way England have been scoring that tells a completely different story from where the country was at during the previous world cup. While in the previous competition England scored 9 of their 12 goals from set pieces, this world cup, England have scored 10 goals from open play already, with a much quicker style of play than what we are used to seeing. Let’s take a look at what’s changed, and why the change in system has made them a lot more dangerous.

      Heskey out wide on the left as we have no real left footers. Could put Barmby there or maybe Danny Murphy or Trevor Sinclair could do a job.

    For years have looked good with 4-3-3 especially during their first Nations League campaign … I never understood why he switched during the Euros to 3-4-3

    Nice video, very educational. May I ask you why a lot of team playing back 3 (3-4-3 or 3-5-2) got disqualified and can't play freely except Netherlands ?

    • @matheuscerqueira7952

      Because they do it to cover weakness due to lack of adequate pieces. Netherlands does it to vessel their strengths

      It's a tough formation to play if your midfield two are not dynamic. Netherlands have Frenkie De Jong who is dynamic, meaning he is comfortable both defensively and in a creative role.

    Late to this but sweet breakdown - the amount of talent at England's disposal (on pitch and on bench) is actually insane. To me, more impressive as a collective than France were in that weird B-team vibe of the world cup (and I'm French!). Sure, England got knocked out in the quarters again this time, but that was against France, and they still gave them fits for large parts of that game. Bright things ahead for the Three Lions I'd say, and the bonus is they actually play very watchable football.

    I think switching to 433 saved his job for now. Was dreading the old Trippier at lwb and Walker at rwb formation but he saw that it was negative and changed. Still think he's a useless manager though.

    • @bigt6665
      @bigt6665 Год назад

      thats cos senegals press and it was like 10 mins spell where they made a tough but good chance and a few ones that would be impossible. the way i see it france dont press like senegal which is perfect also watched the poland vs france game and france looked shaky from 25-50ish minute also mbappe was quite most of the game showing he can easily be shut down with tactics

    • @w2l709
      @w2l709 Год назад

      If the other team presses that intensely then he should be higher up for the longer ball. If they sit off more which I think France will do, then he can drop off and play through the lines from there

    Good analysis but stating the obvious that 4-3-3 makes England more dangerous as an attacking force.
    That is one side of the game.
    Surely a study of how a 4-3-3 makes England more vulnerable defensively compared to a 5 at the back and/or double pivot, especially now they take on the best attacking team they have faced in years would have made for a much better video.

    • @willbentley8856
      @willbentley8856 Год назад

      This is my thought. I'm not worried about how well we can break down France's defence and open up space, but rather about how vulnerable we look to be on the wings in this formation.
      Mind you, I think winning the battle in midfield is going to decide this game.

      If you think about it we're basically swapping a 10 in Mount for a disciplined 8 in Henderson. Even if the wingers are higher up, it gives us more control and solidity in the middle

    • @samwysocki1439
      @samwysocki1439 Год назад +2

      My view is that the 343 would simply invite France’s attack onto our defence, which spells trouble. A 433 gives us more presence in midfield, which helps take some pressure off the Defence.

    I blv England looks better than France... If Mbappe n Dembele r handled well which can be ensure with the kind of Full backs they've... @@SurelyNotABot certainly, it's not easy.. That's y they're the best.. Why I am saying this is.. England have a good attack and midfield..with Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice they're certainly better than France... And dont count out Walker and Stones so easily... If England could score first which might be a possibility seeing the attack of England and defense of France which looks tattered at times in this tournament then they can clearly deputize Saka Or the wingers too to prevent Mbappe and Dembele... And they may be able to win it... I feel England is a better team.. From attack to defence..!!

      It could be the best way to go tbf. France are young in midfield. England could potentially go toe to toe in the middle and with 3 mids. The wingers have to be discipline however to help defend against Dembele and Mbappé
