The Maltese ‘Haku’ that the rescue team met at the place they visited was living in a small room, defecating and eating food waste. His original coat was white, but at that time, Haku was closer to a yellow ragged dog.
Fortunately, he found a temporary guardian and seemed to enjoy a happy life for a while, but then a serious illness struck Haku. Multiple episodes of pulmonary edema that came on suddenly. The diagnosis given at the hospital was ‘bicuspid regurgitation’, and that was also stage D. Haku was given a five-month life expectancy because his heart was already severely failing.
But suddenly the temporary guardian decides to adopt Haku.
And, promising to take responsibility for the rest of my life, I decided to undergo ‘heart valve surgery’, which is rare in Korea.
