It makes a GREAT Fireplace Insert. I already have a Brick fireplace n my bedroom & we installed it in the igsisting fireplace opening. Beautiful, efficient & easy. Hubby measured & cut two 2X4's, to fit the base of the fireplace. (36") We layered them on top of each other. We used supporting strips to secure & support the 2X4's. The framed glass gently just sets in the opening and is supported on the 2X4's beneath the heater. It just takes two of you to evenly place the Heater (machine) in place. It's perfect!!!!! I just hope it lasts for ever. I need to check on a warrenty

This ruclips.net/user/postUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo unit was an easy install and turned out amazing. The dimensions were exact! I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. The heat output is perfect for the space we needed and made the room exactly how we envisioned it to turn out. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thank you for the awesome product just in time for the holidays.

Does anyone know if they have these electric fireplaces that can just lie on a wall and not have to be mounted?

This video is not accurate, make sure to read the install directions about sizing - we got the Scion 43 and right in the manual is says the depth needs to be 7 5/8" deep. A 2x6 wall is 5 1/2" deep - more than 2" short. Even a 2x8 is 7 1/4" - so you would need 2x10s to do this project as shown.

I think the baseboard needs to be cut so the frame can be tight against the wall.

Does this fireplace have exhaust vents in the back (not the heat vents) and are they covered by the 2x4 support? thanks

So it's 2:30 in the morning, I rent a basement apartment, and the electric fireplace just fell right out of the wall and scared the hell out of me. Turns out they didn't even screw it in, they just had it balanced on a plank of wood!!! They didn't even try...
