River Phoenix always demonstrated a powerful captivating personality, from the very first moment we saw him on the screen. What an intelligent (home schooled) young man he was. It is so sad to have seen incredible talent like his and other young promises in the acting world, such as Corey Haim, be destroyed by the Hollywood excesses without proper guidance and check! Parents, where were you?!
@@Nominay They obviously meant that the pressure of his whole life lead him to becoming an addict. Trauma can do that. It's not that his parents were horrible, it's just that he was not protected enough from the industry. It was clearly his downfall.

True story, in 7th grade, while living in Phoenix, I was crushing so bad on a guy named R.J. that looked just like River here, same hair, everything. To my sadness, RJ started going out with the other Amber in my class- a stuck up rich girl with my same first name, looked like me, but perfect clothes, rich, perfect different nail color every day. While I was poor, dirty crap clothes that wreaked of cigarettes living in abuse. He didn't notice me, went out with her. Now, a few days ago I saw final 24, realized River's middle name..that makes him an RJ too! Plus other eerie parallels! Like I also moved to a small town outside of Gainesville, FL in 92 when I was 15, and lived in that county for almost 30 years. My life is weird. Bless River♥️💯🌟
He is beautiful, like an angel of light on earth. His lips, eyes, cheek bones, nose, hair. He was perfect. He should have played Jim Carroll in the basketball diaries and Jack in Titanic... Leonardo was not bad, but he cannot compare to River at all. Leo had an arrogance that River never had. His humility makes him that much more beautiful. ❤

He chain smoked & told interviewers not to say so, accounts for his 'smokey' voice. He does not seem a victim, he sighs with boredom or irritation. He seems more of a charming manipulator.
