    When I was PIMO. I was still serving as a ministerial servant. At my last meeting with the elders, ministerial, servants and circuit overseer, the circuit overseer was reading information he had received from the organization. It was all about how elders in the congregations were being too cautious when it came to allowing kids to get baptized, and as soon as they were able to answer the questions, the elders should be considering them for baptism. His exact words were. “ we have noticed that if we let it go too long a lot of our young ones lose interest in the truth and no longer want to be part of the organization so we want to get them while they’re young” The result to me was very clear. Get them while they’re young and naïve, and then blackmail them with the loss of their friends and family once they get older and are able to critically examine the claims of the organization.

      Watchtower's hypocrisy is appalling; it's about time that governments are acknowledging it. Regardless of our religious beliefs or lack thereof, we cannot afford to disregard their deceitful practices. For myself, I fervently hope that Jesus exposes their true intentions and declares: ‘…I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:21-23)

    21:22 this got me because when my father took me back in to the house because I was disfellowshipped and pregnant , they called my dad to a meeting and told him to kick me out and that our family friend who had a young child that mum and dad had taken in to help her , told him that he would have to tell them to leave because I was at home . He had to step down as an elder as he said he would not tell me to go or our friend and her son to leave . And they had been told they wernt alowed to talk to me or eat a meal with me . They are so hypocritical. And they hate the government but they use the government when it suits them.

    I was made to get baptised at 13 by my ministerial servant father. I told the elders that i wasnt ready.Their answer to me was that if my father wished it then it was good enough for them.
    If i had not have been baptised at 13,i would not have faced shunning as a teen when i was disfellowshipped the first time

    • @toxirala2455
      @toxirala2455 День назад

      They are very manipulative. I was baptised at 15 and I also told them that I was young and that I was afraid to get disfellowshipped. Then they compared it to not taking drivers lessons because of the fear of getting in an accident... and years later I thought like, Jesus himself was not a 15 year old boy when he was baptised. He was a ADULT men of 30. What do we know as teenagers?

  • @Angry20Something
    @Angry20Something 7 месяцев назад +9

    You made a good point about believers not even grasping disfellowshipping. This is by design. The organization purposefully frames it as someone getting "loving discipline" only after they've been counseled by elders and refused to change brazen conduct. In reality, people can get df'ed for some pretty mild stuff or for their first offense of a sin, even one they've confessed to unprovoked. It really depends on the the elders you're dealing with and how they decide to define your repentance.

The Great Harlot's water is being dried up; she is being stripped naked for all to see, and will soon be burned in the fire. They say that blood is sacred because it represents life. But which is more sacred, LIFE itself, or blood which simply represents life? David and his men, on the run from Saul, ate the sacred offering bread without guilt. It was forbidden in the law... under normal circumstances. God says "I want mercy, not sacrifice." JW's are blood guilty themselves, in a very big way!

    • @alanachamberlain5257

      Pikuach Nefesh: means that saving a human life should take priority over everything, even if this means breaking some of the Law.
      Luke 13: 10-17
      Incidentally, Jewish people get transfusions. After all that’s who the law was written for. Transfusions for humans weren't invented until 1818.
      It is obvious to you and I who read the words of Jesus in Matt 12. “I desire mercy, not sacrifice." It was ridiculous for his men to go hungry, for sheep to be endangered because of the sabbath laws or David's men to starve because of a law. Principles are more important? Never should anyone sacrifice a human being for a law.

Something that you should also consider is the interesting fact that scientists now think that each person’s blood holds a personal imprint, which is passed on to other people through blood transfusions and then may even cause split personality disorders and personality changes.

    I like that the point brought out is not necessarily that baptizing children is wrong but what it means for them. As in - the Catholic Church baptizes children but those children are not shunned if they make a perceived mistake or change their mind. I have a lot of guilt as a mother that I allowed my child to get baptized but I guess I am getting what I deserve from that because when I got out I lost her and she is shunning me (she is only 14 now)

    And as followers of Christ, did He get baptized in a matured age?

    Refuting 'the organization' is easy enough but replacing its teachings can be difficult because some 'unlearning' is needed. To quickly summarize principal WT errors: 1) Supersessionism (ie. the Church - 'the organization in WT parlance' - inheriting the promises made to natural Jews), 2) Arianism (a fourth century heresy) and 3) partial preterism, namely that Christ has returned and the Kingdom has already been established on Earth. For example wrt to point #1 Jerusalem was not destroyed in 607BC as per WT, that happened roughly 20 years earlier, so the 1914 date for the return doesn't work; however if you apply the 2,250 prophetic years for the return of Israel to the Decree of Cyrus then you land on May 14, 1948, exactly when Israel was reestablished as a State. As for 144,000 these are natural Jews (Messianic converts like Paul most likely) appointed during the Tribulation period about which Revelation is written to evangelize after the 'restrainer' (ie. the true Church made of born again believers is gone), and not a cap on the number going to heaven. Point being, the Bible is true and inspired and if you want to know what is required for Salvation please simply read Romans 10:9,10. God wants a direct relationship with each of us we simply need to ask directly and genuinely repent of our sins. Denominations are all corrupt to varying degrees, thankfully that's not where we need to look for salvation. We simply need faith.

    I think the main argument of WT is that minors who are disfellowshiped don't get shunned by immediate family members. Which is probably true in many cases. They just fail to often emphasize that it is this marginal situation that family shunning is not mandated. But if this Norway case is about children specifically being abused, then it get's tricky to win, because the abused people are most often adults when DFd, not children. I would think the instances where a minor is baptized and is disfellowshiped before age 18, are rare. And even rarer the instances where those are treated the same way by the family than adult DFd people. I think they need to elaborate in court that in this one instance, witness parents have leeway, but still other distant family members and congregation members shun the kids. That way everyone would know that the WT defence only applies partially. And focus on how even in those cases, most people in the kid's life shun them.
    But if the case is mainly about minors being baptized, they have a good case. I'm just a bit confused as to what exactly is the case argued for here. I don't think any of the exJWs or JWs who took the stand were shunned (hence abused in that way) as children. So when the WT says report to CPS if you have any cases, they might be right if there actually aren't any cases of minors being kicked out and shunned in Norway that can be presented to the court.

    • @murph8411
      @murph8411 8 месяцев назад +4

      It’s the watchtower that’s bringing the case not the government.
      The Norwegian government says parents have to take a child’s view into account from age 7 I think and should give it priority at something like 12. Once they are 15 they should be completely free to make their own religious choices and should be free to leave or change religion without any interference.
      I don’t think the JWs can argue that anyone is completely free to leave or change their religion without suffering any repercussions from their church.
      The Norwegian laws are very much about tolerance and freedom of religion and accusing everyone else of not being Christian and working for Satan isn’t exact tolerant or treating all other religions, or none respectfully.

    I worked with a crew of 7 Jehovas 30 or so years back. I was appalled to see one of them being ostracized by the others because he and his wife split up.
    At the point in time when the support from ones church is most needed, as the stress from splitting up hits hard , all the other Jehovas refused to even speak with him which was awkward since he was team leader. Eventually to two reunited and all was good again until another of them went thru the same ordeal a year later.
    What a bunch of self-righteous hypocrites.
