BN@10: The Hersov interview - Coalitions, Gayton and SA post ’24
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 авг 2023
- During the interview section of his BizNews@10 keynote, Rob Hersov applied his mind to the likely political coalitions after the 2024 National Election. His preference - and that of the international investing community - is clearly for a Moonshot Pact victory, but with other permutations possible, Hersov offers his best ideas on their consequences. He spoke to Alec Hogg of BizNews.

You cannot fix this country with the ANC. Period.
But the DA said they will work with the ANC. You are brain washed by the DA, if the PA does it it's wrong but if DA wants to do it it's right.
ANC needs to go completely. They are mentally stuck, morally bankrupt and will never change. The youth is suffering.
At least we all agree that ANC must go, but DA is not a vehicle that will drive this country. The revolutionary party is the answer
@@vitumbikomakuwa10south Africa does not need a single party rule moving forward.
I can't trust anyone who works with the ANC against DA no matter how they justify it
You are going to be very disappointed come 2024, when the DA and ANC work together.
No no no this white chap does not mind DA working with anc his problem is other black people working with anc
And I can't trust the DA. Beware of it's alignment with the WEF. Véry dangerous for South Africa.
The DA is busy working with the ANC. The reality of coalition governments will surprise the voters.
They've been co-governing this country from onset. One funder one common goal. Mining, banking, agriculture, services and pharmaceutical industries are shared among these two political parties unfortunately, these industries are unfortunately the biggest lobbyist for government. They'll never ever transform the regulatory framework of the country because they're both compromised and live from proceeds of these industries.
The Gaton MacKenzie fixation needs more explaining.
The ANC will never go quietly
I agree with every word Rob said. Its up to us to help change the reality.
No to Pact coalition with ANC. 👎
McKenzie’s own words make him totally incompatible with the DA and the Moonshot pact.
Explain, please.
@@shaun-andrewnero7111 If you had heard how he spoke about his attitude towards the insistence on principle which the DA adheres to, and his rejection of that concept, you would realise that he is not the altruistic paragon that some try to suggest. His aim is very much for an ego-boosting situation. Where many suggest that Malema is attempting to position theEFF as the deciding factor in coalitions, do not under-estimate the PA’s similar aims. McKenzie is dangerous.
@@robcharltonz Agreed. The man is a hustler and will take his votes to whoever is willing to butter his bread. Meaning that he's willing to sell his votes to the highest bidder as long as he gets what he wants.
If we prayed together as a country, God will inspire and direct us to be righteous and just and with peace we will move to prosperity and Godliness. We are out of line with God's word therefore we are not being blessed. We can do this together with God at the helm
God cannot be persuaded, where we are right now is his will. He is forging his warriors and asking them to fight for the betterment of his creation. He wants us to help ourselves, not beg for his powers
@@metalcake2288submit to Him...He is in control
...if we humble ourselves, transformed in this manner, only then will we know how to pray the prayer of faith coupled with works, working God's nation for the good. God did not call us to pray, He called us to humble ourselves, then to pray. There is no instruction by the church on how to do this, to humble ourselves in terms of our nations plight.
If God helped us we wouldn't have the Anc
I watched this. BRILLIANT!
Excellent interviews and even more interesting guests you have on your program.
Would love to talk about our Defence Force.
Great that Rob does not want to have anything to do with the ANC, for all the reasons he gave.
The anc is probably also getting tired of its little snotnose scion flip flopping between it's 2 factions. Malema knows it + is getting anxious - he really doth protest too much, methinks.
We need n praying President, I beleive Mogoeng Mogoeng is the right person to lead onwards. Whach this space in the near future after 2024
Turnaround from curses to blessings.
When I listen to these guys I have hope!
Rob are you Gayton's handler?
Herman is a sound guy, however he is not ready to lead SA, nor is SA ready to be lead by him.
For this country to turn around we need a strong man of sorts, who can be brutal towards lawlessness whilst balancing the principles of democracy.
Our own constitution in many ways stands in the way of rooting out bad elements in our society. SA was and still is not ready for such a constitution.
We are largely illiterate, but seem to think of ourselves as highly enlightened and progressive.
Can you share with us which part of the constitution, in your opinion, stands in the way of "rooting out the bad elements in society"? Also then, what changes would you suggest that would address that, and be more comprehensible for the not so literate or enlightened South Africans?
The anc already lost its intellectual + more educated base. No competence or the will left to rectify or reform anything. There's no force experienced + level headed enough within SA to roll back the widespread corruption + lawlessness. Its unfixable - once Cape independence get going, KZN will follow. Law + order will have to come from the outside or we'll have to limp on till SA breaks up in crime riddled enclaves.
You've hit the nail on the head. This is Africa, not a western nation with a robust democracy with an educated citizenry. Our constitution and 'rule of law" cannot overcome the violent students, taxi industry, construction mafia and illegal miners. What South Africa needs for the next 10 years is a middle age, educated, business minded dictator with a social conscience to get things right!
I think he is ready but I agree on us as a country being relatively illiterate.

@RobHersov proof that Gayton is a "crook"...
Former SA rugby player Ashwin Willemse who played for the Cats and Lions retired at 27 to (allegedly) arrange shady BEE mining deals for ex-convict Gayton McKenzie in exchange for R61 400 000. Just FYI...
Not surprised
Which courts found them guilty? Stop blowing hot air
Alledgedly isn't proof, though...

What are you talking ?1
I never trusted IEC since after Kriegler
I've been waiting for someone to touch on this, i agree with you, the IEC as an institution as well, is getting a free ride, they need their lashes as well, the honest truth is, we have a high voter illiteracy, voter's have no depth of understanding, as to what their X means, they also have no idea, what the difference between a Free Market/Mixed/Marxist system is, yet the IEC, is mandated, to educate voters, is this happening, no, it is not.
IEC has to be depoliticized/non-factionalized. More importantly, their mandate must be extended and policed to ensure that the illiterate, +80%, are consistently reminded about what their X means and how they can use it when there's lack of accountability and wrongdoing on the part of those who are voted into power.
Otherwise we are still not ready for effecting meaningful change🤞
Why would they educate them when they still want to exploit them?
@@pinnacleinfinity9211 , what I experienced of voter education, that was for the first two elections, was education to vote for the ANC. They told people to look for the wheel and the spear on a ballot paper, because voting differently would bring back apartheid. It didn't matter if the face representing the party was black
@@petermabe897 , depoliticisation will when the ANC has stopped it's cadre deployment
Love the truth
Keep going
Well, if Gauteng is unfixable by the DA/Coalition partnership now, what makes you say that they will succeed in turning the country around, given the extent of cadre deployment at all levels of government and SOEs. If you DA cant control the taxi mob at a provincial, how will they overcome such challenges throughout the country, were the Coalition government to gain control in 2025?
I believe if they have then a capable Police and military force under there wing they will stop corruption and riots very easily as we did before 1994
Yep. Rob didn't realise what he was admitting. It appears no one else did either including the host.
As long as the ANC undermines n sabotages the DA because they still want power n confuse all of us, you will not see any progress.
Mckenzie - Don’t trust him EVER - get on without him
He will always have u by the Balls
The rest I agree 200%
Question what has happened to all our Artisans and Tradesmen they are the best paying jobs in Australia and Europe. SA don’t even have Training College anymore why is that?
We do have TVET colleges they train our artisans.
Rob Hersov would do better to promote me than Gayton McKenzie because Rob and I share far more in common, economically, than him and Gayton McKenzie.
Rob is a snake in the grass together with his buddies Renwick and Malema. You cant fool the people any longer....It's end game.
Gayton McKenzie is an ANC cadre without any doubt !!!
Sows more confusion than provides any vision for anyone !!!
I agree with Hersov, the ANC has to go, but for SA to have a white president the vast majority of South Africans would NEVER allow that, the ANC might even use it as propaganda
Sad but potentially true
Very true. I'm sure that's why he mentions Mashaba who seems unstable n inexperienced to me.
I DONT TRUST THIS GUY
Nice dream
Neither do I. His hair is as fake as him.

Brilliant
Worrying that Rob still sees "pro west" as being priority. Brics is better, west is deteriorating

Yes Yes Yes. Well noted and said.
Still many people in SA living the high life in sheltered environments with little or zero idea of how deep the rot is. A short drive into Jhb central or in fact any major city upwards of the Western Cape should be an eye opener.

Fact check Beaufort West Rob Hersov.
What confuses me is how rob doesnt see the PAs voting record as evidence? Gayton has never voted for the DA and always voted for the anc…. Maybe one just needs to accept the fact that if it walks like a tenderpreneur quacks like a tenderpreneur it is a tenderpreneur
Bs, the PA did work with the DA before

How can Gayton be kissing the one who he says is the enemy. To prove he can kiss, at the expense of the people. He is insecure and can’t be trusted
A lot of good sense spoken here. But I can't agree with the thinking that the EFF will amount to nothing and should be ignored. A very dangerous view, one that seems to ignore what's happening in the minds of the most desperate SA's, who number in the millions.
Come on DA, the Moonshot needs the PA!
No ways, rather be in opposition benches than fold in untrustworthy Gayton.
🫣 please no.

You have to make the best of the worst if you have to 🤷♀️
People in my community want to know who to vote for. They know the ANC, EFF, Inkatha, and the DA, and they don't want to vote for any of them.
Vote for the ACDP
@@otnieljooste5888 If we continue to vote for small opposition parties, then the ANC will easily remain the largest political party in SA for a long time to come and will continue to loot and destroy our beautiful country.
The ONLY way to close the gap on the ANC's electoral dominance is for opposition voters to ALL collectively vote for the SECOND largest political party in SA , which is the Official Opposition or DA!!
This will collapse the ANC in record time!!
Come on SA, vote strategically in 2024!!
We need a republican candidate like Vivek Ramaswamy to rise from the ashes. But I fear our imature and uneducated democracy would not give such an individual the opportunity to rise.
It's a matter of faith. Anything is possible.
No way...Vivek doesn't cut it.
Why not?
Why not?
Sad indeed business are seeing how bad things are now and they reminisce about early 2000 during Mbeki era when there was growth and business were making huge profits, My question is did any change happen to the man in the street. Don't tell me about BEE middle class who live on a month to month debt kinda life. Did business make a honest investment to counter unemployment? There was a cry that businesses are sitting on piles of cash some unfortunately did expand outside S.A to the rest of the continent and abroad the likes of Steinhof to Germany (maybe this a bad example sad indeed)😂😂, Woolworths to Australia (sad as well) well Shoprite and vodacom to Afrika and the world. Blacks are still unemployed and poor. Now tell me fellow S.Africans what can the average person (black in particular) do to get a piece of the South African pie.
Cannot be poverty and not corruption and not poverty or corruption. They are comparable to fear and greed.
Corruption is poverty for the greedy and poverty is corruption for the needy.
The needy are fearful while the greedy are cowardice. The brave ones are somewhere in the middle and are very few.
Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
Shame on the DA...their arrogance pops out every now and then.
We must not confuse the truth of the law with arrogance. We are in this mess in SA because we don't differentiate the two n thus political parties especially ANC n EFF are taking us for a ride on that.
Yes they can be president as long as they can toe the line of the west. Then alls well.😂
DA, ANC, EFF, all Agents of the NWO‼️
That's also my interesting observation here. Anyway it looks like we are the Pons whom West or East can play with cos we don't have an African philosophy good enough to make us successful. Not sure why in this decolonisation rampage taking place not sure who's even leading it.
Yure wrong about Gayton....he is just not on.
Did bugger-all for the Karoo
How?
Hersov's undying love for Gayton makes me suspect or doubt his intentions. No matter how he sugar coats Gayton, I'll never trust him. He's a proven con man!!
Why?
You researching on News24 et al again?
And yet it was Helen Zille and her team who lied, and publicly, about Gayton. You trust the DA?
We don't need you believe me... The DA needs the PA! The sooner you idiots realize that the better.
I agree, the future of SA is critically dependent on not making any compromises with the appointment of the right leaders.
Against EWC but supports Israel who literally does the same thing.
Double standards…
ANC go with God but go and may the lord take a liking in you. But go
Though Rob presents a valuable measure of desperately needed courage, a compelling outline and most importantly…leadership.
But where’s the strategy, the detailed A to Z plan to affect change?
He asks all present to stand ‘shoulder to shoulder’ but fails to detail the when, where and most importantly….how.
Anyone endeavoring a difficult, detailed project knows it’s a never ending prospect of

Is it not tragic; that the expatriated naysayers have been proven right i.e. that left up to the democratic vote we, as a nation, would fail.
Maybe, then again maybe not. At BizNews we believe in never over-estimating the knowledge of our community - but never over-estimating their intelligence. When people are informed the vast majority act rationally.

The installed memory of White apartheid excesses is too fresh in the minds of non-white citizens. Even today when you talk or listen to Free State Afrikaners you get the clear understanding they are still rooted in Apartheid mentality. As for Steenhuisen for president is thoughtless; he leans too far to the bastion of the past - the West. The world has changed, the West is yesterday. Like the belief there will be a resurgence of white led (or influenced/dominated) political power in ZA.
The future has to be something new in terms of understanding and personalities.
i'm wondering about the principle of equality of individual citizen votes. For example: Should a convicted rapist and murderer have the same vote as the CEO of a blue chip company? Should a delinquent, nyoepe drug addict have the same vote as a tax paying, law abidding citizen. Very controversial.
