The car featured in this video just popped up for sale last month. Don't know if it has sold yet or not. That is the original that was tested by TV and Magazines, and was the vehicle that prompted Ford to seriously start thinking about the Mercury Marauder. Whoever does or has purchased the car got a real collectable...
I cannot believe that I'm 32 years old - I've owned a Crown Victoria & currently own a Grand Marquis, the very first car I ever rode in was my dad's brand new 90 Town Car home from the maternity ward - & this is the very first I've ever known of this car. WOW! I promise one day I will drive one of these, hopefully own one. ✝️🙌🏻
Gotta say, I love my stock 2004 mercury grand marquis. Plenty fast enough. Tinted windows leather seats, this panther is the pinnacle of body on frame American auto design. All made in Canada, so ford could classify it as an impòrt and get around fleet emissions standards
Funny because this is actually faster than the new Taurus. Ford should have done something similar for the Crown Vic: beef up the engine and suspension, then add some modern technology, and sell it as the new Police Interceptor.
And the times have changed. I have an 06 P71, picked it up with low miles. I am not really a Ford guy but I do like the styling and the fact it's a traditional 4 door land yach, I like plenty of room for my friends and I's shit on road trips. Stock it is not fast. Runs ok but face it, something that big needs lots of torque to get moving and a 4.6L, 5.4L, even a high revving 5.0L no matter how you slice is not going to get it done. You want that tuna boat to move you need cubes, lots of them. 600 lb ft is a good start. And there is really only 2 ways to get a big inch motor in a CV. One is an old school Ford engine, stroked 351 Windsor based, or a 460. The other is to look outside the blue oval, heresy I know. But the bow tie boys have a wonderful line of plants that are physically smaller outside but much bigger inside then the 4.6/5.4 lump Ford offers. As others have done and I am about to embark on is mildly boosted 6.0L GM plant. I do love a smaller fast car, but I like to road trip. And the only way IMO to do that is in a big comfortable air conditioned quiet car with a kickin sound system...and the ability to easily hit the 12's or quicker in the Q reliably.
yep! but the coolest thing without a doubt about the SS and the Saab 9-7 aero is the ability to just blow people away when they aren't paying attention!
In 2003 all Panthers got rack and pinion, better shocks/springs a hydro-formed frame and positive offset wheels. They also have speed sensitive steering. My MGM ls ultimate takes curves flat and confident at relatively fast speeds. They are great trouble free cars and surprisingly fun too.
I agree! I have an 05 crown vic lx sport and the car is no slouch, highway driving make you want to deive faster. Super solid. I have the HPP and the stiffer swaybars. the rear end is 3.55 or 3.73?
I have changed the gears in several cars that I have owned. Since the Crown Vic has an over drive trans and all that weight, I would go to 3.90 or 4.10 gears.
Had a 97 Grand Marquis. Put in 3.73’s, J-mod (factory type shift kit), and a good tune. It made the car unbelievable! It ran with the mustangs of the same years and would walk away from the P71’s. I also lowered it and put on Lincoln LSC wheels and tinted the windowless. It was a bad ass cruiser!
which is no less than 3 years newer and has nearly 1.5L of displacement on the Vic. Just goes to show how much performance is changing on a year by year basis since 2000
Ignacio g. Lol, yes! It's a sleeper and a sleeper at its best! Meaning it slept through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear! It finally woke up at 4th, 13 seconds later and said "hey, I'm awake in over drive so we must be doing at least 55 at redline" I want one!
Why choose the 2 Valve 4.6L and not the 4 Valve or 5.0HO of the same generation Mustang? I mean, I love this set up as it is, but I can’t seem to make sense of putting factory performance parts on a factory non performance engine... well, factory?.
@@NewEdgeDesigns true, but the SN95 had it in its first incarnation as the High Output 5.0. They stopped producing them more than 3 years after the EN53 Vic went into production. Consider that departments started using then in 1993, you would kinda expect a 5.0HO to go into one. It does suck that we didn’t get a 5.0 Vic.(most notably they would paint the 5.0 in Ranger Splash Orange or Purple). But yeah, the 5.0 died out in favor of the 4.6L. The Vic I have has a Romeo 2 Valve and I still kicked an SN95’s butt.
fuck that shit man.why use/pay for used shit that you have no idea of the condition or where its been on ur Vic ...it will prematurely fail trust me man. parts are so cheap for this car.there no justification for pick and pull. if it were a Cadillac Northstar I'd understand lol
Wish they would have sold this now and passed out the savings to the consumer for the tooling and such payed for. Those are nice numbers for an old school muscle type ride.
should have gave it the 4Valve DOHC 4.6L from the Cobra and supercharged it. I'm sure there would've been much more oomph under the hood. at least 425-430 horses. that was quite alot for a crown vic
buy a cop car and make your own..will cost a lot less..u can lower it a bit fer less than a grand w/ some new shocks and such...computer upgrade and a few tweaks for just about 800$..new tires and rims fer way less than 2600...and even put a black paint scheme for 1500...so 3000 and u are all set...and u can pick these cars up for sometimes really cheap....trust..i have one...they are not all beat to hell...the cop cars start out with lots of upgrades in the performance department already...have at it...good luck
As much as I like Crown Vics, if I am going to blow 51k, it will be on something that looks like I spent 51k - Mercedes or a Jaguar. People will think I am insane for spending that kind of money on a tricked out CVPI
Evelyn Craine I totally agree. If I wanted a tricked out CV I'd buy a P-71 and throw in the typical bolt ons and supercharge it. I'm looking at a $10K investment and I know I'll smoke the KBP2
You can pick up a supercharged mid 2000's Jag for nothing and in good shape. The 4.2 SC engine is great and powerful stock if you just take good care of it. I've found after working on them they're far more like an american car than a european one as far as simplicity of care. In 03 the XJ platform went all alloy, so those are frighteningly quick in the SC models.
Keep in mind this was many years ago. I got a nearly mint senior owned 01 CV LX last year with 100,500kms for under $2000. One could pick up a used CV for cheap and put a few grand into it and get a hell of a lot more power than 400hp with a turbo. A few more grand buys you a forged rotating assembly which could handle in the area of 700hp. The transmission is another story
By a police interceptor with the 250 hp 4.6. Do a CAI, aftermarket throttle body, and free flowing exhaust on top of a 100-150 shot nitrous system and you will smoke that overpriced panther if you look hard enough you can get a police interceptor with a factory 3.55 posi gear also. All this for way less then 10 grand and that's with these mods on a prestine police interceptor.

Kenny Brown Performance do you still have the car
do kenny brown still make this pakage if i bring them a 2011 crown vic ??
I got 25 k cash for one of these
4 door BOSS Mustang
@Kenny Brown Performance did I see that right, only 7 of these things made? I wonder how many are still actually around
I remember when this originally aired... I wanted one of these then... still do.. MotorWeek was my show

Now here's a modified Crown Victoria that All Cars With Jon should see and react to. I know I love it.
Now that’s respectably quick. They should’ve made this performance with the marauder
Or the Town Car
This car shouts AMERICAA!! 🇺🇲
51,000 for a fully dect out Kenny brown p2 package is a good deal, esp when you are getting 350hp 0-60 in 5.2 seconds!
That was a lot of money back then. It’s a lot now but it’s not about money, it’s the experience and that uber rare badging from King Kenny himself.
Funny because this is actually faster than the new Taurus. Ford should have done something similar for the Crown Vic: beef up the engine and suspension, then add some modern technology, and sell it as the new Police Interceptor.

charlie dee To make a stock crown Vic quicker and faster change the gear ratio and supercharge it. No need for more cubes
I know its really late, but with 4-valve heads and 14lbs of boost, it will put out 600hp all day long.
Just put a good blower on it and add a limited slip diff and maybe 3.55 or 3.73 gears. Done.
yep! but the coolest thing without a doubt about the SS and the Saab 9-7 aero is the ability to just blow people away when they aren't paying attention!
5.2 damn that's pretty fast wouldn't take much to get it down to 4.0

hahaha I shit you not I watched that today!

The Chevy ImpalaSS Killer!

the rarest crown vic out there.
Would have been cool if it had rack and pinion like my 2006 has.
How many were made?
Cool video and gave you a thumbs up.
How many of these were made??

I want this supercharger on my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis "Presidential Edition" that now has 25000miles! It would be fun as hell :D

I'd love a P3 bullet proof
That looks like a twin cam 4.6 though. The oil filler is on the driver side while the more common single cam 4.6 has it on the passenger
"Aggressive Law Enforcement look" I like that...
