    I'm a Barbara Cartland fan and I tried to collect her books before. I love her books because I'm so interested in the British nobility, different places and the past era of the settings of her romance novels. I felt like I'm on a time travel and at least, through her books, traveled Europe as well.

    Stunning. She looks like what would be today an aging drag queen with class. A big stout woman who lived to a ripe old age of 98.

    May I say as an Englishman, Barbara Cartland wasn’t then & isn’t now, an accurate representation of the average English person.

    I started reading Barbara cartlands books when I was 12 there was a lot of them around at the time and I lost interest in my mid twenties but years later I 've become interested again and can't find any I love watching her she's such a larger than life personality I like her dresses but I thought the capes that seem to be attached to the back of so many of her dresses spoilt the outfit, was she holding David Lettermans hand at one stage?

      Used bookstores are full of them as is EBay. Amazon now has HUNDREDS available in paperback or ebook (kindle). The new Pink Collection are NEW and found after her death and published. And unbelievably they are GREAT!!

    I always thought it was rude of Diana to NOT ALLOW Ms.Cartland to come to the royal wedding. She's the one who said "no". Barbara Cartland's daughter, Raine, was Diana's step mother. For Diana's step grandmother to NOT be invited was terribly rude.

    • @saeedseedat9344
      @saeedseedat9344 3 года назад +2

      You are aware Princess Diana was only allowed to invite 100 gusts at her wedding. 2400 of the 2500 guests were invited by the Royal Family. Princess Diana concentrated on inviting her family the Spencer’s and her friends. At that time she was not close to her stepmother or her family!

    • @hatefullll
      @hatefullll 3 года назад +3

      @@saeedseedat9344 oh come on it was her FATHER'S mother in law! Her grandmother in law! No matter if they were close or not. It was bad form not to invite her. I love Diana to BITS but I've always thought that was a bad call.

    • @nintendy
      @nintendy 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@hatefullll As much as I loved Diana - she did some pretty cruel and spiteful things to her Step Mother Raine;(Babs’ daughter) for instance, one Christmas I believe, she placed a small preset under the Christmas Tree for Raine, inside was a note or something that just said ‘nothing for you’ - or something similar I believe. I can’t quite remember the wording exactly, but I was quite shocked that she did this, considering how generous she was to the rest of the world... Despite this, Raine, incredibly, still always had time for Diana; when she had big problems in her later life - guess who it was Diana turned to for help and support when she had no-one? Her dear Step Mother Raine! So I think Raine must have been one heck of a lovely, generous and forgiving lady! We often hear of wicked Step Mothers - much less so wicked Step Daughters... I literally cried when I’d heard of what she did to Raine. It still haunts me to this day.
