I actually just recently bought this card for my red decks. I like to stick to cards < 1€, but this card is just too sweetm Sadly didn't draw it in any of the games , yet😢 The amount of total damage it pushes out is kind of insane. It goes 2 = 2 then 2 +4 = 6 "eh" The. 2 + 4 + 6 = 12 "oh?" then 2 + 4 +6 + 8 = 20 "oh!" then 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 = 30 "uff" then 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 + 12 = 42 perfect number and probably everyone is dead( could cause a draw). Kind of like Divine Intervention. Both of my decks profit from the card, too Rakdos Lord of Riots gets huge mana reductions and treasures for the colored pips and Ruric Thar, the Unbowed comes down the round after Descent into Avernus and even if he gets removed he comes down every turn again, with the 2 extra treasures paying for Commander tax. Though the other players will probably do broken stuff with their treasures, too. And as you said, making the game go fast and fun is great😃
mana flare is a surprisingly similar card but it doesn’t do damage, which makes it an incredible politicing tool. i have it in my spells combo deck and the one resource it really cares about is time and having enough mana. nobody wants to be the guy that gets rid of double mana for everyone so i just get left alone and then combo off because i got the time to assemble pieces fuel my graveyard and hold up only one island for double blue
Someone pylay this at my lgs, and I play Clever Impersonator copying Decent to Avernus while my commander (Pir, imaginative Rascal) out. That game lasts 6 turns.
You forgot the most important card! Sac a treasure and get poison / toxic counters! The newest bloomburrow treasure counter card Edit: Bloodroot apothecary was the card!

So, this & Doom Clock make hella fun additions as a World Enchantment/ artifact from the gate. We treat it as though Descent gains a mana with every turn the deploys at the last players upkeep. It can be killed, but the it's only gone for a rotation or so again before popping back-up. Fun to try if you want guaranteed speed games.
I'm currently working on a Jolene, the Plunder Queen deck where I'll be running basically every card you mentioned here (except the black ones, for obvious reasons). I don't think I will include it, but it would be incredibly funny to play a Collector Ouphe the turn after you drop Descent.
I Play It In My Rivaz Deck, I Use Hellkite Tyrant To Steal The Treasures I Give Out ....The One Person I Hit Doesn't Like Me But Everyone Else Finds It Funny :>
Oh this is auto include in any large cost commander build. 😂 It's unmatched in making games become Star Wars trash compactor experiences! Oh no the walls are closing in!

100%. I literally bought a stack of these when they first dropped, and run then in all my decks with red. Win or lose, they speed the game up

Glacial Chasm shields you from the enchantment coz it's "damage", not "life loss".
Put it in my solphim deck, now my opps lose twice as much life as I do, and I’ll eventually win the war of attrition
