- When Sam arrived at Weymouth Speed Week 2023 there was very little wind, but wanted to get out and give foiling on a wing a go!
There was max 10 knots, so 7m Ventis DLAB was weapon of choice.
Paired with Sky Style SLS 4'9" 65l
And DLAB foil and new DLAB Carve 2.0 - 850
Peak was 23 knots
Best Average over 500m - 21.59 knots
Thank you Duotone Team Rider Garry Connell for the amazing drone shots!

Nice. That's me from 00:30 with black and red wing and in other shots. Looks like close call at the end even with windows. It was good will of racing especially on last days
How do you find the Sky Style SLS board? Particularly in terms of takeoff?
heya, i mainly have this board for wave riding, but did this event as a one off.
It has strong rockerline which does make it hard for take off, but means you don't catch your nose when going down waves.
if riding flat water, the sky free is a better board, as it has a straighter and longer rockerline which helps glide before take off...
Hi Sam are you still using a GoPro max or insta great photos.
insta360 i fell out with gopro when it broke off my twin tip kitesurfing. The threads ripped out the bottom of the gopro! bad design, which i see they have changed for the newest gopro.
Insta is ok, but more buggy then the gopro.
@@worthingwatersports thanks managed to get a new max for 280 on Black Friday a lot cheaper than an insta, will see what its like
Ps liking the super star quiver , UCkqVXsEgcXUKufZutVUQ9AA. torbay action
How much do you weigh to make a 65L work in ~10 knots??
heya 74kg.
the board was a bit small, but the ventis DLAB 7m made it possible
