Bro, it’s essentially the same version. Only difference is, there’s a full band behind her. This version is much better with all the effects that was happening in between parts of the song.
She is a Champion of X Factor Philippines, Grand winner. She is incredible.
@@Pudekz51790 I disagree that this version is better. The band isn't the only difference with the Singer 2018 version. In the stage performance she brings in Latin, funk, soul, jazz/scat, and improv notes to the performance.

I'm late to KZ, so it's been years since your reaction. By now you've probably heard her stage performance. If this studio version covered a few genera, the stage performance adds Latin, funk, soul, jazz, improv, rock, and probably a few I missed.
Wait you gotta check out her version of this on The Singer as well as Royals! It’s a bit different with the notes and word position choices and has a bit of a Spanish and rock flair in addition. She’s such a performer!

She was raised by a single mom who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. She's doing youtube live performances with her band to raise money to pay for her moms cancer treatment. Start with "Through the fire + Piano in the Dark", "Better Days", "Fly me to the Moon". You'll know why she's sensational!

KZ is one of the most innovative arrangers and vocalists I have ever heard. You never know where a KZ performance is going to take you but you know it's going to be great. Check out any of her performances on the Chinese competition Singer 2018. Her original Nag-iisa Na Naman is also not to be missed. Love your reaction, as always.

KZ doesn't just "change" the song, she dissects the *emotion* of the song.
For instance the start of this evokes an almost "demented" state ("hell hath no fury....." and all that)
You'll see it more when you watch the inevitable "live competition version" that everyone else has no doubt suggested in the comments.

That was a great version of "Now for something completely different!" Lol. This was my first time hearing anything by KZ Tandigan. Very different and very good. A lot of variety in that one song. I too was concerned at the beginning that the entire song would be auto-tuned. Very happy it wasn't. There's a lot of talent coming out of the Philippines these days; be it KZ or Morissette or Marcelito (Pomoy). Excellent and fun reaction Jen! Incidentally, Ashley Diane Rosa from the Voiceplay cover of We Don't Talk About Bruno posted a humorous behind-the-scenes video of her and Geoff on her Instagram you should check out on your own if you'd like a quick laugh. KZ is an artist. You can never predict what she will do. Just because you think you know the song doesn't mean you can count on what you will hear from her. She is one of the most original performers you will experience. And, she is always totally in it. And, her musical intelligence and raw talent allow her to get away with things others would be stumbling over and making a mess of.
Great jazzy performance. She's so versatile and so musically fearless! WISH bus is home to another incredible jazz performance from the hot Filipino music scene: Gary Valenciano singing the Chick Corea/Al Jarreau classic Spain. It's beyond belief. You might need 2 or 3 eppies to cover everything he does, Jen. Thanks for sharing this one!

KZ almost gave up singing when having polyps removed from her vocals cords prevented her from hitting high notes!! She instead turned to incredible artistic talent to make her music epic and relevant!!! Her stage performances are simply phenomenal!!!!

She may not one of those singer with higher vocals due to her having some devastating vocal health problem in her teens and her considering to even stopping singing completely, yet made it to one of this generations top singers together with the likes of morrisette in the phillippines today, by recreating herself is a musical genius to me.. but beside that she really has a beautiful voice, and as i said that ' 'close to you' performance that she did on her first concert ( not sure if 1st concert) which she dedicated that song to her parents,. Not only blew me away but put my eye in tears.. pls check it out.

The Tagalog rap in the middle is so personal, she really sounds like she's spitting frustration at her ex. It's like the broken sounding vocoder in the start where the machine is telling her how to express and she can't. I just love this, it's injecting so much different emotion.

KZ is what you get when an artist smashes divisive boundaries of what we ordinary mortals call "genre" and blazes through her own path free from rules of music theory. Instead of pursuing formal education in music, she took up biology which turned out to be the best thing for her music career. I loved it so much ! She broke the speed limit with her Filipino rap that was at warp speed ! Ughhh I loved your reaction to it and I loved the unique ending so good ! If you want to go a different route to other reactions, try her version of "No time to Die" .
Not only is KZ great but the arrangement is special. (I think better than the original)

The effects at the start would have had me changing the radio station. For me her natural voice grabbed my attention right away. I've never really been a big fan of manufactured effects.

Little history for you on KZ and some other Info...Plus the Story of That RAP part
Now the Mic is Not Autotuned...it is a Special Mic She had Made for herself ...It is called a
"voice Box' or something like that other singers in the Pass have use...If I have my facts
right a "Blues" singer used one but was a large box on the Floor, KZ calls it Magic Mic
KZ had a severe throat trauma as a young Teenage (not sure of age)But the doctors even
had doubts that she would even sing again. After several operations and therpahy.
Here is what is Today...she probably will never be able to Belt with super high notes,
But when you have Talent and a Gift like this...Who Needs the Belts...Not KZ
Kz is not just an Artist She Is a Performer and Can make Any song into a Concert
on it's own.....When she did that Rap in "Rolling in the Deep" was in "Chinese mandarin "
she heard on the radio on the way to the show...and Had to learn it in just a few days,
Cause she wanted to Honor her Chinese Host for inviting her...
And she does not speak that language normally.....

KZ might not be the greatest singer, but she might be the greatest entertainer. Don't know if I like this version better or the version she did on The Singer, both I guess. Similar, but her energy is off the chart.
KZ has that ability to just steal songs from the original artist, you will never hear Adelle sing this quite the same ever again.

Her version on the Chinese talent show Singer 2018 is with a full orchestra and she burns up the stage. This is lackluster compared to live version.
