    It's really nice when you explain certain aspects of why you paint or draw in a certain way, i.e. the techniques. Such as why you painted the sky first to use as a reference to the rest of the painting, or when, in other videos, you scan in the lineart and then place it on top of the finished painting in photoshop to make the lines more crisp. This makes it easier for me (and hopefully your other viewers too) to understand the process and also learn a lot. Bottomline: Thank you! :)

    Ah that unmistakable Tokyo concrete forest vibe, the Collector edition of Kimi no na wa arrived just a few days ago, the work you and the team puts on the film makes it one of the most beautiful anime of all time.

    It is very satisfying to see how you control the water movement of the watercolor paint, like at 2:07. You're a master of this! very patient work also!

    This video makes me so nostalgic! I went to Waseda for grad school starting the year you came to Japan I think, and this building looks like the apartment I lived in! The cicadas in the background of the audio really make me remember Japanese summertime. Thanks for your videos! They are always awesome!

    your work is amazing, would you tell us, what is the secret of your super straight line without ruler? My lines are never that straight unless i use ruler... arigatou :)

    • @mattjabbar
      @mattjabbar  7 лет назад +14

      I honestly don't know. I just can do straight lines. I guess it's a matter of practice. To be honest I'm making the lines in this picture more wavy on purpose so they are more interesting. ;)

    Could you maybe slow down the time lapse in future vids? I find it really interesting to watch artists paint/draw :P

    • @mattjabbar
      @mattjabbar  7 лет назад

      I this is rather difficult because most of the time I record the video as a time lapse already.So I don't have the full video. I sometimes do real time video too though.

    I am in awe at this series, Mateusz. I love all your work but this is really hitting the spot for me. Will you be selling this original painting? And if so, how much would it be?

    • @mattjabbar
      @mattjabbar  7 лет назад

      This is a piece of a series so I don't think I'll be selling it soon. I have other original paintings on my TICTAIL shop.

    can normal printing paper and acrylic paint do something like dis?

    • @mattjabbar
      @mattjabbar  7 лет назад

      Acrylic, maybe but for the paper I would recommend something thicker.

    I can't seem to get colors to look at 'night'. Any tips?

    • @mattjabbar
      @mattjabbar  7 лет назад +4

      I would recommend using more muted colors throughout the picture. More cool tones than warm - cool blues and reds, earth tones.
