It's really nice when you explain certain aspects of why you paint or draw in a certain way, i.e. the techniques. Such as why you painted the sky first to use as a reference to the rest of the painting, or when, in other videos, you scan in the lineart and then place it on top of the finished painting in photoshop to make the lines more crisp. This makes it easier for me (and hopefully your other viewers too) to understand the process and also learn a lot. Bottomline: Thank you! :)
Ah that unmistakable Tokyo concrete forest vibe, the Collector edition of Kimi no na wa arrived just a few days ago, the work you and the team puts on the film makes it one of the most beautiful anime of all time.
Absolutely beautiful! Your work is so inspiring. I personally am inexperienced with watercolor scenes but your videos have helped me learn how to execute them better. Thank you for sharing your lovely art!
It is very satisfying to see how you control the water movement of the watercolor paint, like at 2:07. You're a master of this! very patient work also!
This video makes me so nostalgic! I went to Waseda for grad school starting the year you came to Japan I think, and this building looks like the apartment I lived in! The cicadas in the background of the audio really make me remember Japanese summertime. Thanks for your videos! They are always awesome!
Omg I just knew you were part of core art team doing backgrounds for "Your Name" and you did "Mottainai" TV commercial as well! I love both of them and every background look fantastic! Great job!!!!!!!!
Beautiful work Mateusz, as always ! :) the mood/atmosphere in this "Tokyo at night" series is really strong and powerful, i love it ! Can't wait to see the project progress in the future. Thank you for this beautiful content and keep up the wonderful work :)
really looking forward to this series, i love all your stuff! you've become one of my favorite artists ever over the last months, i wish you all the best
I really like your work, it's beautifull and it makes me feel relaxed! I discovered you on facebook but I didn't know that you had a youtube chanel (I didn't pay attention...). I'm so happy to be able to see your work going!!!
Hello ! New viewer and subscriber here. I just wanted to say I really love your work. It's very calming and inspiring. I will watch all your vids but so far this one is my favorite because I love the color scheme and the "at night" theme. I hope to see more like this in the future that will be awesome! Good luck and happy painting !
your work is amazing, would you tell us, what is the secret of your super straight line without ruler? My lines are never that straight unless i use ruler... arigatou :)
I honestly don't know. I just can do straight lines. I guess it's a matter of practice. To be honest I'm making the lines in this picture more wavy on purpose so they are more interesting. ;)
I this is rather difficult because most of the time I record the video as a time lapse already. So I don't have the full video. I sometimes do real time video too though.
I am in awe at this series, Mateusz. I love all your work but this is really hitting the spot for me. Will you be selling this original painting? And if so, how much would it be?

Un excelente manejo de luz, me gusto mucho. :)
I really like this painting! I find night scenes some of the most difficult things to paint but you make it seem so easy :D

Great. It would be nice to see a more step by step video. I speak Spanish by the way.
You should add links to your patreon and blog in the description, so people can easily find it.
I will do it next time!
Could you maybe slow down the time lapse in future vids? I find it really interesting to watch artists paint/draw :P
I this is rather difficult because most of the time I record the video as a time lapse already. So I don't have the full video. I sometimes do real time video too though.
You should put a link to your website and patreon in the description below your videos.
really cool..! i watch your videos everytime. i want to paint use a computer, like your watercolor painting. what should i begin? ㅠㅡㅠ
Get some good watercolor brushes for Photoshop (like Kyle's) and just paint a lot. There's no other answer ;)
How did you get so good at perspective?
I did a lot of drawings and paintings of building and cityscapes :)
I am in awe at this series, Mateusz. I love all your work but this is really hitting the spot for me. Will you be selling this original painting? And if so, how much would it be?
This is a piece of a series so I don't think I'll be selling it soon. I have other original paintings on my TICTAIL shop.
can normal printing paper and acrylic paint do something like dis?
Acrylic, maybe but for the paper I would recommend something thicker.
Do you have or ever plan to make a book of your works?
Yes, I'm working right now with a Japanese publisher on a book of my illustrations :)
Hi !! :3
I can't seem to get colors to look at 'night'. Any tips?
I would recommend using more muted colors throughout the picture. More cool tones than warm - cool blues and reds, earth tones.
What watercolour you used
