Hey everyone! So today I’m going to show you how to quickly create a handwriting-style effect animation in Procreate, in 3 easy steps. We are going to create a lettering piece that writes itself up and it’s a lot easier than you think. So let’s get started!

if i save it as an animated gif, can i use it to create a reel on Instagram?
You can't upload a GIF on Instagram, but what you can do is convert your GIF into an MP4 format and then you'll be able to upload it. I use ezgif.com/gif-to-mp4 to convert :)

if you are adept at using animation frames already, then it might be quicker for anyone reading this to reverse this process. so rather than putting on a mask then unmasking blind on each frame, you could apply the mask on each frame little by little. so you would essentially be "erasing" the writing instead. just remember to put the frames underneath when you duplicate them.
Whatever method you prefer will work! ☺
I finally created my first font after watching your font creation videos! But because I like everything animated, I'm now looking to animate texts/letters (preferably in my fonts :) ). I'm going to try this tutorial. Do you also show how to animate logos that have both letters and icons/illustrations? Thanks!

1. In your intro, the letters in the animation has a shadow. How do you add a shadow to the letters?
2. What brush did you use for your text? Any recommended settings for it?

Thanks! I just added the shadow at the beginning and did the exact same process (simply hide both the text and shadow at the same time).
For the brush I used my "Pen - Marker" from my Retro Sign Toolkit aureliemaron.com/shop/p/retro-sign-toolkit-for-procreate

Loved the vid! But I found that you can’t animate the test with color tho, it only shows gray version of the color
Can you do a tutorial on how to animate text similar to the technique you used but able to put color other than either and gray? That would be really helpful :D
Hey! You should be able to use any colour you want for your artwork and animate it regardless. Maybe check that you are in the correct colour mode or that you have enough storage on your iPad. You should ask Google if that doesn't work :)
How do I make a transparent background so I can overlay it on my videos?
You do the exact same thing, except you don't use a coloured background. You will be working with the text layer only (and no need to create groups!)
@@AurelieMaronStudio But when you drop the black color for mask, when you export it, the background is black ? Can anyone help with this?
@@stephanieinjuly Just make sure you export with no background as a gif. The black color for your mask should not appear in your gif.

Hey, is it necessary to draw by hand....we can't get it this handwritten effect in text, actually I made like this but my letters are popping out.... it's not looking the same which is supposed to be like handwritten.
Please let me know what to be done to get same effect in text.

Hey! It is not necessary to draw by hand, you can use an existing font (like Snell Roundhand or Zapfino) or install any script font to your Procreate app. The letters need to connect in order to create that handwritten effect :)
On procreate I have the animation set to one shot so it doesn’t loop, however, when I export my gif it is looping. Do you know how to resolve this?
A gif will always loop. You can use an app like ezgif.com/loop-count to change the loop count of your gif.
hey, how did you make the "procreate" text shake when you said "all you need is the app"? same thing when you were talking about layer and groups, the texts were "shaking"
I simply drew the text 3 times on 3 different layers, and created a mini animation :)

Yes, absolutely
Thank you, becouse I put my GIF from Procreate to feed and moving was gone. I have found that is neccessery to go to another application GIPHY or GIF Cracker.

my ipad pro m1 is getting super hot when i place this kind of cover on it during procreate.

@@AurelieMaronStudio no the back cover..i have to cut big square around motherboard area. it was easy because of silicon material. now it cool fast and i can do heavy task.it switches off after temp hit critical limit.

I’m not following correctly or your Procreate version is so far ahead or behind mine I won’t be able to follow. First of all I need to know how you made the word momentum. Where did you make it how did you make it? What tools did you use in Procreate to make word momentum and when I went to make my layers and follow exactly what you were doing on screen. My version of Procreate would not do that it didn’t want to do anything that you were doing on your version so that’s a problem trying to animate the words Merry Christmas I guess I’ll just get the handbook out and read that because nothing you’re showing me is the way you say it should be working
