I would really like for the them especially Mecca to chill on telling J Hood he’s interpreting it wrong from his angle. Mecca talking more than Hood, you not the artist homie.
Facts niggas go out they way to defend the machine at all costs
He's delusional. He's biased too. He doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.
I thought it was just me that peeped that
Mecca seems like he as a issue with Hood. He seems funny style with Hood
He got his LOX cape on like he still mad at Hood for dragging his D Block chain
Mecca is defending them not including Hood on the cover? What is he talking about? He never talks greezy like that when other artists are in the room, show that same respect bro damn
Thank you
He prob got some relationships with LOX
Yeah I’m disappointed in him with this one, must be a super lox fan. Won’t even let the man tell his story
That J Hood verse on “Lick a Shot” on Styles p’s first album was HEAVY🔥🔥🔥
Facts, fire verse
True but Jada had the beat verse.
@@konceptkash7181 to be expected tho
My favorite D-Block song
He went off
I agree with Hood, though..Mostly every group who got introduced on The Source magazine, had all members..Especially, when it was that whole name. For example,Junior Mafia had all members.Rocafella had all members etc..If it was packaged as D-Block and not the L.O.X, then, Hood should have been on that cover.
Yea but Lox and/or D Block didn't have any hits either like Rocafella or like Junior Mafia who was BIG's crew. D Block was doing mixtapes
But look at who you named. D Block wasn't on that level.
The hosts afraid to just admit that the lox never been hot enough to have that clout
@@Watchingvideoslikeu That's 1,000,000% FALSE! Rappers/MC's would have killed to be on the cover of The Source at 1 time, The magazine isn't obligated to put someone on the cover nobody really knew at that time. Do you know how many MC's would be on mixtape's/putting out mixtapes or on those Mixtape DVD's back then?🤷🏽♂
Styles wrote that verse for hood
When dragged that chain that killed his career j hood had a crazy buzz
How are yall int the comments telling Hood to let shit go when he's just telling his story on how he felt at the time? EVERY artist get up here and tell their story.. good bad and indifferent. I like Mecca but sometimes he goes too hard to defend the machine, and Math is getting more and more political as well. No one can tell a nigga how he should feel about his own story
Agreed. Hood was right but Mecca was defending the machine. As Hood stated, the Lox clearly had no power
No, they didn’t. If they did they wouldn’t have gone through that masters situation. I think Hood seen them as rap gods at that time
@@SaneAfrikan disagree with there point. if d block could blackballed j hood and prevent him from putting a album out.mixtapes and turn the industry against him. they had the power to get them on that cover. or at least fight for it. you have the power to blackballed somebody you have a power to promote them. akon, lil flip and lebron james and more was a big fan of j hood. and at that time the lox were legends and royality in the hood.i just have a hard time believing that if the lox would of said apart of the contract we want them on the cover.
@@SaneAfrikan they have the power to blackballed j hood in the industry in 2007. they had more power in the industry in 2004. they were cutting major deals, in movies, tv shows and magazine and street dvd, street magazines. its like its some top notch white pop culture magazine. the source and other were hood magazines.
Mecca should've had that same energy with yayo when they interviewed him.
I don’t think he was there
He wasn’t there if I recall😂😂🤣😆
This makes me realize J hood didnt know how much reach he really had
For the ones that don’t know .. J Hood is a legend .. I was in high school putting dudes on .. needs his flowers for real
This is not disrespect but he’s not a legend, what has he done that was legendary?? Aside of having a few great verses. We just throwing the word legendary around like it it looses the value of calling people a legend. So you saying Hood is on the same pedestal as Pac and Big? Jay and Nas? Em and 50? You calling a guy who has zero albums not even a classic album. We got to relax on calling everybody a legend
Y'all can just keep calling everybody allergic now if he's a legend what is Jadakiss the sun
@@JacobStone-cx3mg no one never said he wasn’t lol what are you reading bruh?
Salute to d-block,they raised me with gunit n dipset
Nikkas can say he salty or whatever but he not wrong. They could of put him on the cover. He is just one extra nikka out of 3. It’s not like it was the Lox with a whole group of Nikkas.
really like how you used that 'nikka'...well done bro. You have a great point.
Mecca got ALOT to say. Good grief. Let the artists talk
Nah fr tho like dude jus don't stop he wish he was a rapper so bad wack a$$ advice n fr jhood coo he can rap but tbh I ain't heard anything from jhood sad to say he washed it's over @J-Hood
Facts, idk what he was on with this interview. He’s tryna tell dude story for him.
What it comes down to is whoever made that call at The Source should have had the FORESIGHT to put Hood on the cover. Hip hop has always focused on what's new, young and hot - he was all 3 of those things and he was attached to legends. They didn't make the wrong call per say, but they missed a chance to push the culture forward at that particular moment by taking a (great) chance.
Well put
He’s was locally hot not hot enough to take a chance on a million + dollar subscription. Hip hip is still a baby and was even younger then. So what Mecca said was right. Everyone keep talking like it’s personal from their personal perspective business ain’t never personal either it work or it don’t for better or for worse and they were right he wasn’t ready. He acted out and showed his ass and ruined relationships. You gotta see the bigger pic always.
I’m still waiting to really here from Shyheim more and his whole story. They keep going back to Hood but I get he was a bigger artist at the time. I loved everything Wu and still do. I had every CD they ever put out and constantly looked for hidden gems. Wu Forever
@@far7rom243 for sure, that’s why I said I understand it. J Hood was a bigger artist at the time. But I love hearing about Shyheim, he had tremendous talent at a young age.
Hood still should've been on the cover 🤷🏿♂️
I believe so.
The source did source shit
I think math folks need to stfu more
Not if it meant that the cover didn't happen at all.
Hood should stop crying
When i first heard JHood i thought he was gonna be the next big thing the talent he had at that age was and is very rare
He never really evolved tho lyrically.. his buzz was definitely huge when he first came on the scene
Him and Cassidy birthed a lot of people flows💯
I never felt that way. No one was checking for him at all. Never saw j hood mixtapes getting love or hearing a random kid reciting his bars.
@@stealthgenetix1754 SHID! How old r u? Ni99az was on j hood @the time you trippin
@@ZeoP-kl3pl you were. Real dudes ain’t listen to that kid it was trash. I didn’t listen to Cassidy either. I listened to ppl talking that ish. I’m not normal. I listen to believable music. No one believes shorty. You prob think Rick Ross kick that real street shit too lol. Be safe out here

Hoping we will hear more from Shy, the rugged child. Still have the lost generation in heavy rotation
word up. Classic album.
I still check on both of their newer music.. I hope ppl know nearly every rapper from back in the day has new music
I fully understand J-Hood point of view lol anybody can its not hard
JHood not lying 🎯 DBlock mixtapes were the talk of the street dem times there 💣💥
Man, I'm all the way from New Orleans, we was heavy on Ruff Ryders, The Lox, D-Block etc. I've been anticipating a J-Hood interview for over a decade, we get one, and homie with the dreads wants to over talk and be loud like the interview is about him. Hell, I wanna hear more from Shahiem too.
Facts Holmes a goofy
Get Team Arliss next, Math! Team Arliss had the best mixtapes in 06.
STRAW!!
Hu$tle Music is a classic
If Source magazine didn't and knew they wasn't going to have him on the cover or put him in the article why didn't they just tell him to go home I feel J-Hood on this one
Um we are here to watch and listen to J Hood and Shyheim, who in thee hell is that dude that keep talking 🤷🏾♂️ ain't nobody come to see you Otis 🤫
Mecca is the most arrogant annoying guy on the podcast.
He’s never open minded & feels his opinion is law. He doesn’t add much to the podcast. Math is more level headed than him, & that’s saying a lot, because math’s history lol.
Math needs to check Mecca on talking over the guest, cause he did this to waka’s mom deb, and now j hood smh
He Is Never Gonna Get Rid Of Him This Dude Is The Cancer Of The Show
J-Hood man really gonna stand there the whole interview 😂
He ready.
Lol from his body language he ain’t feeling how the convo is going
Look like he got a vest on , maybe he j-hood stick man lol
Look like he on S lol
I know his man’s that stick man from mount vernon he clown ass nigga from Columbus ave heights in mt Vernon ny
Hood was Fire. He was a staple for us young dudes in the early 00's. Representation
Mannnn in this clip dreads need 2 fall back. Dem Boyz should of stepped up & said something. Hood got the right to feel the way he feel. Nigga we was in Flawda screaming 🗣️D-Block!!! Definitely was hard 💪🏿💯🔥🔥🔥
Wu-Tang logo was like the Bat signal in the sky at night!!! ✊🏼💪🏼💯!!!
Respect Math!
They should have had separate/ individual shows
O and this pod would POP more if the intro/song would be less aggressive lol j/s... the show would then cross more genres and different populations within the culture frfr
such a great segment fellas, much respect.
Homie Mecca talk to much for me man.. had to turn this one off 🙃
Bro this co host is killing me 🤦🏾♂️
Exactly, we not trying to hear dude.
He interview like he know everything shit is so annoying 😂
True, but dude was apart of the source magazine

Em did the beat, hook, and verse on Welcome to D Block, I just knew Jae Hood would feature on that joint.

I see what Hood sayin and yea..if it's a D Block article.he should be on the cover..always thought when Hood got on shit,Sheek got that battery in his back heavy

Is it J-Mecca story 😂😂😂
lol at them trying to tell him them leaving him off the cover worked
Who else is googling to see the magazine cover right now while listening to the convo? lol
J Hood is correct he should've been on any D Block cover. Mecca seems like he said don't put the lil nikka on the cover.
Nore bout to call Shyheim a flunky again. 😂🤣😂
That WU TANG logo is infamous/ worldwide you cant escape from that
Dude mecca remind me of angry dike. This why they shouldn't gossip before the show.
Smart dude painted the scenario perfectly. He spit his quotes from 20 years ago. He explained that it worked how it was supposed to. You get introduced and then you get your buzz and get the cover yourself.
@GZues_Christ I read the article and he was mentioned. He did other interviews and videos.

Shy went crazy on raekwon he and hood is good spaces and the bitterness is gone
MECCA ACTS LIKE ITS HIS SHOW
Wish Sheek would do more interviews. Man just doesn’t like being out in pubic. Can’t tell the story of D-Block without him.

Mecca too comfortable ..
Cause he was around at this time so he can give. More insight on the subject
@@ulybrando exactly bro, I'm trying to explain to these fools
Damn is dude standing up a cop ?😂
Man let Jhood talk. He keeps cutting him off
It said D Block. Hood shouldve been on the cover. There’s no argument
I can actually answer this for them. As a West Coast guy who was aware of the Lox 100%.. D-Block appeared to be just what Hood said…. A recreation and real version of the fabricated Puff version. I didnt know who J-Hood was and that he was apart of D-Block like them. An equal. Now Im def not on this shxt like a dufe from NY at the time, but as a mainstream fan of East Cost rap… I probably would of been schooled immediately, had he been on that Source Cover.
I know Esso and Hynaken had to be moved but dude in white hoodie, cmon fall back a lil cos sometimes ur contribution be wasted
you kno who we need in that seat cuban link
Mecca is annoying not gonna lie😂
Purple in the dutch masked up with the hoodie
A lot of people myself included were under the impression that the Lox were calling themselves D-Block due to friction with Puff
Nah, they was Lox or D Block when Jae Hood joined them. Everyone knew that
Let’s keep it real…they didn’t won’t him on the cover…
Hood let it go bro get out your feelings 💯, you said it yourself that they gave you money for tours, for features etc. 💯
