I’m a Puerto Rican from the Bronx and I grew up saying the n word before I even knew it came from a racial slur. In NY we use it to refer to any person. As I got older I trained myself to remove that word from my vocabulary because I have no business saying it but I grew up thinking there was nothing wrong with it.

So when Nas said girls "called you ugly", that was true, "y'all niggas deal with emotions like bitches", that was true, etc. Lol I can uncover the truth behind more of those lyrics if you want.

We all struggled and are in the trenches together here. So the N word comes natural. There’s no malice in it, it’s the same as saying bro to each other. There are even a lot of black people in NYC that know how to speak Spanish because of our cultures mixing.
