    -----
In this clip, Large Professor talked about producing for other artists and discussed the making of Illmatic at length. Large Professor recounted the lead up to Nas dropping Illmatic from signing his deal to recording with some of the most legendary producers to the album title itself. Large Professor, who acted as de facto executive producer said he knew the album was a classic but that wasn't reflected in album sales early on because the project was bootlegged. He said he thinks it was an inside job because people had the actual demo from the record company.

@@MultiBillionHeir lol I hear you, but in my opinion Raekwon hold's that title. When you talking about fly nigga's who was always talking about the prestigious shit I hold Nas, AZ, Raekwon, and I'll say Ghostface Killa in that regard. "Shakey Dog starting Lolita" by Rae & Ghost gotta be one of the best back & forth's in storytelling and I haven't heard anybody do that besides Nas & AZ on "The Essence". You can't talk storytelling and not mention Rae & Ghost, they compliment each other's similar style in storytelling and flossing.

The Jeneral J.U.-ICE funny you mentioned Raekwon & yeah I’d say Ghostface and Rae influenced Esco and Sosa. When I first heard The Setup from It Was Written I was like wtf this sounds like Raekwon!! You know back in the day as fans we used to get mad when rappers sounded alike 😂 they had to as original as possible- I wanted to skip that track so bad but i had to keep listening for the next rhyme scheme. Also on IWW intro AZ sounds like Rae

Hard to say....but nas had so many classic stories...I gave u power, suspect, shootouts, rise and fall, small world, drunk by myself, undying love, tales from the hood, surviving the times, calm down, rewind, 2nd childhood, war, too many to name....plus it was written was like a mafioso version of great adventures of slick rick...

When they open the hip hop museum , vlad and some of his interviews gotta have their own wing. Vlad thank u for preserving the culture via these interviews. A low key living legend like large pro gets lost amongst the big money all hype promotion jobs we usually see on social media sites so do him justice. Ask relevant insightful questions. And dont sell these interviews down the road to the highest bidder. I hope u r doing it for the presrvation of our history. Show them u are not a vulture. Peace
