- In this video I quickly review the Zhiyun FIVERAY M20C and M20.
These Post-It note sized pocket lights pack a ton of power and flexibility into a tiny footprint.
The biggest selling point for these lights, apart from their 20 watts of output, is the included extension bracket. It has multiple cold shoe mounting points, a magnet on the back to attach it to metallic surfaces, as well as magnets on the front, enabling the use of an optional diffuser, grid, and/or barn doors.
The RGB version (M20C) features a wider CCT range, and includes green/magenta tint control on top of its full color capabilities.
The Zhiyun FIVERAY M20 series of lights have internal batteries that last for around 1 hour and 20 minutes at 50% brightness, and can be recharged or run indefinitely via USB-C.
Of course, you can also control these lights remotely with bluetooth using the ZY Vega mobile app.
Leave a comment and let me know what you think of the Zhiyun FIVERAY M20C and M20!

What do you think, is the M20/M20C the ultimate pocket light? What's your favorite feature?
Looks nice great review!
Short and sweet. Pretty powerful little thing! Accessories are cool
It's just a super solid product all-around. Love me some magnetic modifiers.
Does this work well as a key light with soft enough lighting, for a small content creator?
It is bright enough, but won't be very soft unless you put some kind of bigger diffusion in front of it. You could get an umbrella bracket and a small shoot through umbrella and it'd work well.
Wild to think in Aus this is price comparable to the Aputure MC Pro
Interesting, they are kind of similar, but in very different ways. Obviously, the biggest difference is that this light has more power behind it, but both are really solid options.
@@NewLayer Oh for sure, and I wouldn't knock back either as a little on the go fill light to live in the camera bag. The extra power of the M20C does make it more tempting for my purposes.
Soft enough to use as an up close key light?
I personally wouldn't use any pocket lights for that because I like things super soft, but it's definitely plenty bright enough. If you had it about arms length away, it would work, but a small COB with some kind of soft box would still be better.
@@NewLayer that’s what I thought. I think I’m going with the SmallRig 120D.. I’m just looking for something without a fan, or very QUIET at most..My GVM is too loud at times.. recommendations?
@@AaronOverEverything You could always go with the Godox UL60, which has no fan at all! geni.us/godoxul60
Obviously, you pay a little more for that Vs. the usual lights, but if silence is your main concern, I think it's worth it. Other than that, everything is relatively comparable. GVM is hit or miss, but has the most lights with loud fans out of any brand I'd say.
The GVM SD80 series is quiet though. The Godox ML60 or ML60II are also quiet. The Nanlite Forza 60 and Amaran 60 watt COB lights are also quiet or silent up to a certain brightness/heat threshold.
I've never tested SmallRig lights, so I can't say anything about them from experience.
@@NewLayer you’re the man! Thanks a lot for the recommendations brotha🫡
