Hey all! The class I mention at 8:57 is now fully released! It's a behemoth: ~7 hours of lessons that fully cover the head. Breakdowns and full painting demos. Valuable info that I use when drawing & painting, both realistic and cartoony/stylized. The class is here: marcobucciartstore.com/collections/online-workshops/products/understanding-and-painting-the-head
Do you know of any other pros that do this kind of thing. So I can do master studies and stuff?
Pro trick: you can watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Johnathan Ronnie Yup, I've been watching on flixzone for years myself :)
@Johnathan Ronnie yup, I've been using flixzone for since december myself =)
Your videos always remind me to relax and have fun with my painting attempts. Embracing the abstract even just a little helped me improve a lot.
You're in a very different level of art, which is translated into your pieces every time you paint. Beautifully done!!
Marco I just want thank you so much for the quality content youre putting out! It has one of the if not the highest value of all the art channels out there imo! You deliver the information very clearly and efficiently!
Thanks for watching!
I know an artist that paints almost exclusively in this style, it's always really neat. I love how it illustrates the fundamentals without needing any mechanical skill.
Can you name the artist?
Marco, when you release a video. I promise you, when i get that notification; everything I do stops and you have my full attention.
You have taught me so much, I wish i could show you some of my paintings.
Thanks Omni, very much appreciated :)
This is like... a really good example of what an excellent tutorial video really is. Not even just the tips and tricks nestled in the content, but the why and the key felt senses, while simultaneously capitalizing on the attention and curiosity to teach. Not to mention the clear speaking and pacing choices and placement of examples, etc.
Thanks :)
Best teacher on RUclips, thanks so much Marco!
The fact that you're willing to share your method and on top of that, take the time to do it. You are a true asset to the community. Thank you for being you.
this style is my new obsession thank you so muchhh
Thank you. I follow this tutorial almost daily for a year and then I draw. Finally, I reached beautiful results. Thank you very much.
Omg... I did not know the fade tool existed. Thank u so much for saving my life from messing with the opacity for an hour every time I try to fill in a colour.
Even if you don't pretend to do a pice in this style, it seems like a fantastic technique to block in colors and values for a "traditional" render.
"Every artist will need to have different information in place before they feel comfortable moving forward: when I do a line drawing first, I need it to be accurate, but with enough left unresolved that I still have things to resolve in the painting process." I swear you're a genius. You put a very abstract concept in my mind into perfect words. You're a great teacher. You're explaining things in such a precise way. And yes I am a beginner when it comes to stylizing things, but I have been drawing for many years and doing things unconsciously and in small ways on my own!
I've been obsessing over hyper accurate draftsmanship lately, and I think I needed to see this to reground my overall perspective.
You make me feel like I could accomplish something, by breaking it down like this, thanks so much!
Wow the fade tool is magic . I'm surprised I never heard of it before this
Master! You’re awesome. Not talking about your awesome painting, I’m talking about your lectures skills. I always feel so inspired and energized. Thanks for sharing this wonderful lessons. Cheers!
I'm glad to hear it, Gisi - thank you!
amazing video. Whenever i am lazy and skipping all the art-related vids in my feed cause i feel like keeping on sucking i can never go over yours! Great advice and best production value! Love the little extra infos and animations inbetween! Just great, your channel is possibly my favorit one right now. Thanks for everything!
Very good explanation :)
Thanks Evan!
Only one like?!
You are the most valuable artist on RUclips.
You are the best teacher ever. Thankyou. 🙏
Hey Marco, as a self-taught artist, I have been watching your videos since a long time and they have been super helpful. You are always pointing out insightful tips that help me greatly in improving my art. But I always wondered what do you do when you are not filming the videos? What is life as an artist like? Lots of drawing and painting? How do you practice, or even decide what to practice for the day? I ask this because I am not "in" art, it is just something that I am passionate about but can't really spend time on it, so I really wonder what it's like to be in a position where working with art. I kind of wanna see a "one day in my life as an artist" type video to satisfy my curiosity. And as always, thanks for these awesome videos.
I've binge-watched many of your videos! Your calm and sovereign way of teaching touches me. It makes learning fun and interesting. Instead of reinforcing dogmatic statements from standard literature you break down important concepts in your own words explaining not only the How but also the Why. This is great!
Thank you, Marco! You are such a generous and AWESOME teacher, giving all these secrets to us for free!!
Easily one of the best youtubers. Period, what have we done to deserve you
Thanks to your videos, I learned A LOT. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
One of the mottos I live for now: 'Shapes are everything'.
Glad to hear it, yes, shapes shapes shapes! Thanks for watching.
Ur style is absolutely insane!! Oh my god, like its so unique. I love it
Dude, you are my inspiration...
One of them. You... Proko... Sinix... Borodante... etc... In a matter of a year I've learned so much...
the "happy 2019 everybody!" at the beginning knocked me out
cant believe this video is free ur so good and thank u
I've been experimenting and trying to work better to improve my colouring and your video has really help that it's okay to not have a clean outline and to be messy, because the colours and abstract shapes will bring it out clearer and I could back to put finishing details if I want to. While also outlining and colouring, I've never felt so free and expressive, especially when my art was done and comparing to my other stuff, it stands out so much and I've never been so proud, so I will continue to keep on practicing with this graphic style, thank ya!
Very helpful and i like your drawing and painting stile, it ispires a lot me because its poligonal and i like poligonal shapes i use them too
I always learn so much more from your videos than I expect to from the title :)
Been looking for ways to teach myself how to look for shapes in the face for painting and I think this might be a great way to do that.
I really enjoyed the version with the sketch on it. Very much a hungover feel to it.
Very fun style. Drawing like this is better than drugs.
A bucci good video. Thanks Marco!
I tried this one Yesterday after I saw that video, and the result is quite good (for my first time)
So thanks for that video, I did learned new skills and tricks that I didn't knew about !
Love the humour in this personal caricature! Thanks for posting.
Marco Bucci you are a great teacher and a great artist thank you for your videos!
The greatest RUclips tutor. Ty a lot Marco!
Bro you actually did it. What a g
Great Bucci, lately i've seen some great artists doing a graphic style like Peleng and Piotr Jabłoński this video is on time!
btw u can fill the selection more quickly if u use ALT + DEL for fill with foreground color
Marco, I like how you're pumping out new paid tutorials, but now that you have a volume of video lessons, might I suggest you be open to a subscription plan for all your classes?
I know you have skillshare, but something affordable set up by you in the future would be great. There are great platforms like Teachable if you wanna check it out. If you have your own platform, you can bring on other artists to teach as well. I think people like Proko and Bobby Chiu have done a good job with that.
I've sampled tonnes of teachers through online/video instruction, even great ones like Richard Schmid and Craig Mullins, and you're at the top of the list amongst these guys. You have a way of explaining concepts that most teachers tend to miss. Your lessons tend to hit on every stupid question a beginner might ask but pro teachers usually tend to miss because it's so basic they assume that there's no need to explain it.
I honestly think you should go bigger with your online classes and make them accessible to as many people as possible, you have no idea how hard it is to find good art teachers outside of the USA and Europe.
Thanks for making these lessons.
Thanks for your suggestion! I think that is indeed the next step of growth I need to pursue with my paid lessons. I've been meaning to do it, too. I can't guarantee any kind of timing, but I'll be looking into making this happen.
Marco, thank you so much for these videos, I was actually checking today if I didnt miss a new video by accident :) Your way of explaining is more than helpful, always straight to the point and you make it short enough to really keep my full attention. I am learning how to teach from you :)
Thanks a lot!
Very well explained sir
this is such a fun art style, so cool
Oh my.... What an amazing gift!!!!
approx 0:38 "Every artist... before moving forward..." You hit my problem (well, one of them!) right on the head. Better words I've not heard said. Nope, not a poet, that was unintended. Apologies! Thank you, now I know how to explain to my friends when they look and say something along the lines or "Looks fine to me..." Difficult for me to drift, I need a direction. Or perhaps direction!
I recently went through an art tutorial by Patrick Brown, and he has a similar approach to shading and lighting a character. He also uses the lasso tool and fill tool.
You really are an awesome trumpeter !
If I could make a drawing as easily as the one you reached at minute 4:00 I'd stop there, shows the difference in skill imo but the lesson helped me understand I need more practice. Thank you.
You are a great instructor. Thank you
hooray!! It's a small thing but I'm SO happy I've learnt about the fade control!! You're the best Marco!!
Thanks for the wonderful lesson and also for the Russian subtitles.!!!
Great video! I appreciate all the tips and not dumbing down the tutorial for people who don't know Photoshop lol
My food was getting cold while I was watching this. Wow! So well explained!
I've never seen that ' fade' option before. Thanks!
Very cool, I have been working on my watercolor, it's nice to see that the things I learn can help with other mediums.
Thanks!
Beautiful!
you're making the best tutorials - thank you so much for this video!!
thank you so much for this video, needed to know some techniques for this style this video really helps!!
Thanks for the tutorial and the psd file. I'm definitely going to try this style, it looks so much fun!
Instead using the stroke effect, try using the inner glow effect. It has a much better watercolor effect.
Oh, so that's the real Marco.
Thank you
Gracias Master Bucci! The best!!!
Excellent Tutorial!
you are making a huge difference bro, tnks for your videos
this is some good content right here
That looks that cool!
Thank you Marco! You have an interesting way of teaching, and the one i've found most helpful. Many times while i'm in my art process i have found myself rembering things you've taught us. So keep it up man, you are an inspiration. greetings from Norway

Marco... Thank you man... you simply amaze me.
Aw hell yeah! I'll have a field day trying this out! ^^
I was just binge watching your videos again earlier.
Same I can't get enough
super approachable and concise teaching thank you!
I paint - have been for a few years - but i'm having such a hard time with digital painting. I have a tendency to get frustrated If I don't get something perfect right away; I assume it's trash and I don't finish which results in a lot of unfinished work. I like your videos because they make me want to keep going and get better - and more comfortable - with it.
This is so fun and visually interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much Marco ! You rock !
This looks like a lot of fun to do, very inspiring!
Your videos are amazing! You are a reference for me!
Bucci the goat
Happy 2019 to you too Marco! Best way to start a year is through watching your videos!
Thanks again for doing this. Can't believe you did it
Reminded me of road rash (3do) art style.

Wait, this is the self-portrait? I thought Marco looked like Batman. Wait a second. He kind of does!
Fantastic! Love it!
Fantastic work as always! Thank you for the time and effort you put into these!
