I’ve seen others mention you can’t create a stereo pair without internet. Is this true? I have two HomePods. Why wouldn’t I be able to airplay to more than one device without internet?
Thanks! Had no idea I could do this! Think we need to setup HomePod on WiFi first so there’s no unboxing and going airplay without first WiFi or maybe we can setup a personal hotspot to do this. I have no WiFi just 4g so will try this whilst in lockdown, HomePod ordered! Thanks
Hi, this isn’t working for me. Is it essential that you have WiFi in when you change HomePod settings to share with everyone? Then you can turn WiFi off?
David Martin yes correct! I have the same problem! I changed the settings before I took it out and all you have to do is turn your WiFi off first and turn on your cellular or not it’s optional and tap the HomePod icon and boom it work!
Thanks for the tutorial! I tried this earlier today, but I was locked out of it because I didn’t do this step before transporting the HomePod to a remote location without a WiFi network. So, if you plan on going mobile with your HomePod, do this before packing it up.

NOTE! YOU NEED TO BE ON WIFI TO CHANGE ANY TYPE OF SETTINGS ON A HOMEPOD.
So what if I unplug it and take it to the gym with me after I change the settings will it still work

I tried this on the HomePod Mini's and they don't show up on the AirPlay dropdown menu.
Maybe you had wifi off , it has to be on even if you’re not connected to a wifi network 😑

If they’re already connected thru wifi you must reset them to change this setting.
