    Great product. I've been using it for a year with no issues. No squeaking, easy to open and close tailgate. I'm using 35"s. Pretty sure it can easily handle 37"s.

    Great video. I used it to help decide on the RR vs TF and for the install. I am doing the TF 2.5" lift and would have gone TF on this but for over $200 difference to get the correct third brake light extension (i.e. NOT on the spare I rotate every 5000 miles), I went with RR. I'll be repainting all of the RR bolts this weekend to prevent the rust (I hope). Thanks for the help!

      I would highly recommend painting the bolts! I'm doing the same this weekend LOL! Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to keep up on all the new videos. Thanks again!

      This carrier had held up great, I'm still using it to this day with a 35X13.50R18 mounted on it, and it's a heavy wheel/tire combo, over 100Lbs! Thanks for watching!

  • @AceGoodheart

    Just bought this tire carrier. Thanks for the "How to Install" video. I'm looking to get those same Nitto 35" tires but for a 17" wheel. They look great. Sucks that the cost is a bit high. I may end up with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W.
    When you first circled around your jeep, i thought you had the new tires on there and i was thinking "Man that looks disappointing", but then you showed your new tires on the jeep and i was like DANG that looks sharp.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  5 лет назад

      I really like the NITTO tires as well, but you are right, they are expensive. I hope you enjoy your new tire carrier and thanks for watching!

    thanks for the video. I am on the fence between this carrier and the Teraflex albeit the teraflex being almost too expansive. What made you decide on this one? Also since you show your teraflex lift I wanted to ask you an opinion on the lift. Again I am on the fence between a JKS 3.5 with fox shox and this teraflex 3 STS. How's the ride on the road? this is a DD for me and some offroad limited to dirt nothing like rock crawling or anything. Thanks for any info!

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  7 лет назад +1

      I went with the RR Spartacus carrier because I got a really good deal on it, but I do plan on switching to the TeraFlex carrier soon. Not that there's anything wrong with the RR carrier, I just plan on matching a bunch of stuff. I have the TeraFlex lift, their slotted big brake kit front & rear, their dif covers coming soon, so I figure might as well get the carrier to. As for the Lift, rides like stock! Maybe just a touch stiffer but not much difference. It does great on and off road. Even at high speed on the highway it's really stable, it can corner without feeling like it's going to fall over to! Great kit!

    hey im having problems with my 35" tire sagging after i installed this. Did this happen to you? I have to re-adjust the 19mm sockets a lot.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  8 лет назад

      I haven't had any sagging issues with this carrier, did you tighten the big set screw on the side? If so I would suggest pushing the tire in closer to the gate then tightening up the bolts and set screw. I also can't say much about sagging over a long period of time though because our Jeep was recently rear ended and the carrier took a bad hit and was pretty badly damaged. We had this carrier on for about 4 months I think, maybe a little longer or shorter.

    What is the rear bumper protection you're running on there? I don't really want to upgrade the rear bumper but I like that set up for the rear lights.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  7 лет назад

      It's by RedRock 4x4 and it's really inexpensive, here's a link. www.extremeterrain.com/red-rock-4x4-rear-guard-jk-j100567.html I had to make my own light mounts though, it doesn't have any mounts on it. Thanks for watching!

    did your door latch line up as well as it did stock? Mine was off a bit.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  4 года назад

      Mine lined back up fine, but I have installed a few of these that had issues. I always ended up being my fault buy not keeping the gate completely secure and aligned during installation. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! I know it's an older one but have a few questions. Thinking of getting the same tire carrier setup, have you had any problems with it, tire loose or things like that? The rear bumper protection looks awesome, I can't find that online could you point me in the right direction. Jeep looks great! Keep up the good work! Always enjoy your videos

    Did you have to splice the wiring and extend to reach the brake light?

    • @RockyXTV

      I did, only a few inches though. I've heard people say that they were able to pull more wire through and not have to splice it. Thanks for watching!

    • @RockyXTV

      Extreme Terrain, it's the RedRock 4x4 Double Tube rear bumper guard. It's really inexpensive and easy to install. I'll be doing an installation video on one soon, seeing how ours got destroyed a few nights ago (we got rear ended at a stop light) Thanks for watching!

    Awesome transformation, I'm looking into this tire carrier for my Jeep. Gonna be running 35s. How is it holding up for you?

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  7 лет назад +1

      Really well! It's supporting a 35x12.50R18 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T (71lbs) on a Method Race Wheels Fat Five (30lbs) Even when wheeling it holds that 101lbs steady. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to keep up on all the new videos!

    Hey man nice jeep! Would you still recommend this tire carrier? I need to get something but I'm scared to spend the money and not be happy with it. Does it still make noises back there?

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  7 лет назад

      I really like this carrier, and no noise at all. I installed this long before I got any noises, but I know a few people that have had a lot of noise then installed this or the TeraFlex one and all noise is gone! Thanks for watching, and don't forget to subscribe to keep up on all the new videos! Thanks again.

    Watched a video on this carrier from extreme terrain. They said that the tire doesnt snug up as close to the jeep as they would have liked. What do you think?

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  5 лет назад +1

      There definitely could be a little more adjustment built into this carrier so the tire could be pressed against the Jeep more, but this carrier has done great by me for a few years now. The TeraFlex carrier is a better piece, but it's a lot more expensive.

      I think they are RedRock 4X4 from Extreme Terrain. They are Rock Sliders that bolt to the body and the frame w/ somewhat of a built in step. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! I just ordered this carrier today and I'l be watching it again before I install it. But man how do you turn that ratchet so fast?! :) Do you think the claimed carrier weight of 56lbs is about right?

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  5 лет назад

      Super ratcheting skills come with time, you'll get there some day LOL! I would say the 56lbs is pretty close if you got the whole kit, carrier and hinge plate. Maybe a few lbs less, thanks for watching!

    From the inside out, does it block the window a lot?

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  6 лет назад

      Depends on your tire size, with a 35 and with the hard top on it's not to bad. When we run the soft top (Bestop Trektop Fastback style) though, it is a little hard to see anything out the back. Thanks for checking out the video! Don't forget to subscribe to keep up on all the new videos, thanks again!

      Rocky X TV Thanks for responding to my question. I'm going to also run 35's. Now I'm waiting for it to get delivered. Thanks for the video. It's going to save me about $350 that a local Jeep shop wanted to charge me to install it.
