So about that last game, one word of encouragement i can offer is to not just look at kill/deaths, but also your assists. You had TWELVE assists that last game, which is huge. Keep it up, and very quickly those assists will start to turn into frags. Rooting for you Gabe!

Exactly this. You are the initiator, you help start the fight. I will never forget I was playing a game with my friend. She had 6 kills 20 deaths.... and *30* assists. She was a Skye. Your assists matter especially with your role. Don't get discouraged.

Just DONT look at the leaderboard. If you see youre top frag, you might be too confident, run it down and die instantly. If youre bottom frag, you might get discouraged. Not looking at the leaderboard and just playing the game can really help with the mental aspects of a match.
And not even assist, think about all of the trades they may have gotten, or even the info you gave your team. Remember aim isn't everything!

Great job Gabe! I do have a tip for you though, in the first game you already had a spectre, then you got a vandal which made you go down to 0 credits, if you already have a gun you should just keep it even if it’s slightly worse unless you have like 6k credits. Good job!

that last game had a pretty good lesson actually, because no matter what, even without adding kills, you still add something to the team. The pressure of one more enemy being possible on site/executing and adding util is still massive, and the fact you can just get a few rounds that you do well in, like if you get 5-6 kills in like 4 rounds, that is a MASSIVE confidence boost and can turn your attitude around, so i dont really like looking at the scoreboard, because you are still adding quite a lot to the team.
Nice! Your gameplay looks really good. You can totally get to gold if you keep this up, I've been really enjoyong watching your journey and chwering you on! I also noticed some things you could improve on:
1. Use your molly more. Almost every round, you end with the molly still in your inventory. You have a great peice of utility that you can use whenever you want to stall a push, force someone out of a corner, and so much more. When vod reviewing if u dont already I would try to think of times when you could have used your molly, and in game try to use it once per round.even if you dont get value, you will learn just by using it.
2. This is a small thing, but when you clutched against the yoru on breeze with the right click---which was really amazing btw, great job!---you didnt plant the spike. Ik u were probably just thinking more about the clutch and being happy you had made it, but try to make it a habit to always try to plant the spike even after the round ends if you can because it goves you credits and an ult point even after the round.
Btw congrats on your almost rank up, youre so closeeeee! Im honestly also bronze 😅 because I dont play very seriously, but I'm pretty sure I have good knowledge of the game's theory---at least enough to be sure that these are valid things to think about. Good luck on the grind!
let me just say I started the game about 8 months ago and same as you started from the bottom in iron. Now I am in diamond and can say you honestly just have to keep playing the game to get better. Good luck my friend :)

I've noticed that you tend to panic spray whenever you get shot at. which is something that i used to do a lot, my biggest tip is to break the habit of holding down your mouse to shoot

Kay/O is a difficult agent and requires deep game knowledge to play well. I recommend you to learn a more simple agent like Phoenix, Gekko or Chamber and start Kay/O once your mechanical skill is on a decent level. That is, if you want to rank up and get good as fast as you can. If you just want to have fun and not give a shit about your rank, do whatever you want.
Hey good job! As a player not much higher rank than you (bronze3/silver), I'm probably not very credible to give advice, but I will say it's important to practice your sprays and bursts, make sure you are pulling down on your mouse as you spray, you can practice this in the range by spraying your phantom or vandal or whatever and trying to make sure your bullets all land together in a small area, the smaller the area the better
I noticed on the first map when it was post-plant and you had to retake you were a bit shy coming out of CT, remember you can always add pressure without fully committing to a fight, this is at least better than waiting for them to engage you in CT which is a very obvious position to be in. the more angles your team covers in a fight the better chances you have. hope this helps!

hi Gabe, just a quick suggestion when using kay/o's flash. if you're near the wall and you wanna flash, just throw the flash with right click. 'cause if you throw it with left click the enemies will react quickly. That's all !!! goodluck w/your journey ;)
Gabe you’re honestly doing sooo much better, it’s crazy to see how much you improved. If i could give you one tip, try not to move while shooting. I’m looking at your graph in the top right and there’s still lots of blue, meaning you’re moving too much and it’s causing your shots to be inaccurate, even though your aim was on their head. Other than that, you’re doing amazing and i hope you can start to climb fast!
oh and also take your time with your shots, you have more time to aim and shoot in iron and bronze than you think

Glad to see the progression
I am a silver player hopefully soon to be gold,
a month ago I was hardstuck bronze so here are some tips to hopefully jump out of that elo ASAP.
1. try to get a hang of the recoil control for the guns you use. like you were tapping with the vandal against clove in heaven to fast thus introducing more RNG, more timed shots would result in better shot accuracy.
2. As a KAY/O main it is important to let your teammates know whenever you are flashing, if they accidentally get flashed they might get angry causing them to tilt and potentially lose you games.
3. active over passive aim. Active aim is the one you use to engage in gunfights while passive aim is basically your crosshair placement induced with map knowledge, in low elo while it is essential to keep learning passive aim, your priority right now should be working on active aim.
4. Learn your gun, once again coming to this, master the guns you use, the recoil, the weight, and also learn the spray patterns for spray control.
Damn gabe! you got this my guy, gold is no more out of reach! i watched every video from first to this episode with such interest and pride, i just love watching you getting better and better at the game, keep it up Superstar and you will become top radiant!
Gabe!! love the content and kay/o especially a good flash tip for right click flash try flashing behind you so you can peek out with it dont flash straight so u need to wait for it if you know what I mean like the flash you did on 3:41 would of been a good flash to do with right click so its behind you when you peek out with it instead of left click flash Just a quick tip for you 😄I told my friend thats new to kay/o to do this flash and he has been getting a lot of kills with it hopefully this helps you get to bronze!

Here's some tips, when you have a spectre and their close, you don't need to ADS since ADS'ing has less RPM; also, you can run and gun (if they are in a corner or close) but try to control the recoil, it might help a lot and when you have a vandal, don't run and gun much, try to make some counter strafes and aim to head and you'll get better :D Also, last match was nice you got 14 assists! Keep it up!
Edit: And also, don't insta crouch, strafe and then crouch would be much better so that the enemy can't track your head (psst, im sry if i make any mistakes, i'm only silver 2-3 lol)
Quick tip: at 3:37 if you know where enemy is, make sure they don't have the cover like cubby and use right click flash while looking a bit up in the air, trust me you'll flash them more often than atm :)

Edit: I also spotted, around like 14 minutes you started belittling yourself for bot fragging, even though you had 3 assists. Careful man, not every matchup is the same. You will have harder games than others and exhaustion catches up to you. In those moments, avoid spiraling downward in your own head. Keep it simple, round-by-round, come up with a simple plan to loosen up. Stay rational and don’t take bot fragging personally, it never describes your true skill level or fighting spirit.

It's okay to have few games where you didn't top frag but helped your team with your utils and communication. This happens in every rank after many games in a row. You just get tired and not as sharp as previous games. It's okay.

One suggestion though : communicate when you see an enemy, also when you got killed say where and who killed you. I typically ping where I see them before I get killed and tell in the voice chat where I got killed and who killed me : "elbow, clove, she is going CT, or she is going here or there".
Another suggestion is : reposition after a kill especially if there was only one enemy pushing you so the others didn't see you, because they will communicate after dying and say where and who killed them so you will surprise them by appearing somewhere else.
And one last suggestion : don't move when you shoot and position yourself accordingly to your weapon : if you have a spectre on bind or breeze you cannot hold long distance angles, you can play showers or lamps or inside hookah but you have to wait for them to be close to you. If you don't have a lot of money you can definitely buy a full shield and a ghost instead of a spectre so you can hold long distance angles. You can also go for a bucky or judge or something like that and aim at the head for close angles (inside hookah, showers, lamps,...)
i'm also an initiator main and sometimes i either have a bad aim day or the kills just goes towards other teammates instead, best thing to do to avoid getting annoyed is to be helpful other ways like giving info and callouts

Im not sure if anyone has told you this, but you also want to look at how your holding your mouse. Maybe look up a tutorial or something but when I first started valo, I didn't have too much control over my mouse if you know what I mean but when I changed how I held my mouse it honestly changed the game for me.

Bronze is just as bad, trust me. The only difference between iron and bronze is that bronzes have better aim, although not by much.

Hey, nobody is tilt-proof. Everyone feels that horrid feeling of "I'm not doing enough for my team" or the "I'm useless." Often times that is completely untrue though. Even if nobody on your team acknowledges it, (or even you don't realize it) you are adding a lot of value to the team by being there. The game isn't about getting kills, it's about teamwork. The better team will always win in the end. You're thinking about it as if you're a dualist, meant to run in with no info, take space for team, and get frags to allow for plant/defuse. But you're initiator. That isn't your job, and you're doing great as initiator!
I'm silver 2 right now, on my to gold, and I can say I'd prefer to have you on my team than a great many initiator mains I've had recently. You've improved *so sososo* much since you started this series, and I can't wait to see you hit gold!

Its good you are tap firing at long ranges to have better accuracy rather than spraying. The only problem I see is that you tap fire too fast that the recoil does not reset.
I suggest you take a lil bit longer before other taps so it does not go upwards way too much. Try strafing left or right while it resets to also make you dodge shots better.

I've been recommended iron gameplay videos and stuff lately, and its really interesting to see how a lot of you seem to tap fire a lot.
i would actually recommend to not reload instantly after you get kill especially if you have a lot bullets left like from 10 to 24
you should try unbinding crouch, that was the biggest thing that helped me. I just started last act and made it to gold in the current act.
You should always keep ur gun until you die if its spectre, dont throw it away next time. Good job on the games tho!
To be fair, I find it much harder to find value in kayo in bind but i might just be coping
one thing I notice is that you kinda panic in your gun fights a lot, I'm also a victim of this but like you need to practice being able to keep your calm and not ever tensing up while aiming for the head.
Every other time I watch this series for a split second I wonder why he plays kayo. Not because kayo is bad or underpowered but I just feel like it’s a bit easier to play for yourself rather than the team before plat. Then I remember who’s playing and I’m happy he’s sticking to himself lol

Also another tipie u shouldnt always force buy like spectre and full shield mid rounds.. cuz the enmey team will have better guns.. i would sugest learn how to mange yr money.. if u do save u could buy vandel and full sheild for the rest of the rounds..

Some tips I can give you: (my peak is gold 1 so please take my tips as a grain of salt)
1. You can use deathmatch to train your movement (your aim is fine for an iron-bronze, it's just that you are an extremely easy target to hit)
2. For long ranges, you should counter-strafe to make you a much more harder target to hit, you will land much more shots on the enemy than the enemy hitting you. Keep in mind, you do slow down when you are hit, but if you practice this a lot, you will notice that you get so much more kills and you go positive way more often. Practicing this movement method will be crucial in bronze and above, doing this in iron lobbies will be way more easier as iron players can't do anything about it.
3. For 5 meter shots, just run and gun. Chances are your bullets are going to land anyway, so just make yourself a much more harder target to hit.
4. What I have noticed in your gameplay is that you don't spray the gun. Most close range deaths are you by bursting, what I recommend you to do in close range fights is to spray the gun. If you want to implement the counter-strafe method, land two shots on the enemy then enter a spray.
5. For a game like this, requesting utility from your team is crucial. Ask a controller to smoke off areas to enter a site easier or smoke off areas where you don't want enemies to enter in. Ask a sage to wall off parts of the map, ask a cypher to trip a site or trip flank, etcetera. (By the way, for lower elo lobbies, people tend to just cross the smoke without having information. You have to learn to punish their gameplay.
6. Try to learn to punish the enemy's gameplay, and try to learn patterns in their play and take advantage of it. Do they keep crouch spraying? You can also spray at them. Do they keep flanking? Ask someone to watch flank. Do they keep going to a certain site? Ask a cypher or deadlock to trap the site they keep going to, else just ask more people to go to that site. Does their reyna keep lurking? You can punish her by holding off angles.
7. For a game like this, try making a plan if you can. Ask your teammates to fake a certain site making the entire enemy team rotate then rotate to the other site while having 1 teammate (if possible) still on the faked site. You can bait off utility, etcetera.
8. Try to trade off your teammates and if possible bait a teammate.
9. Never play off-site after spike has been planted (for attackers). If someone wants to, atleast 1 teammate holds main.
10. Never get greedy for kills unless you extremely need kills.

counter strafe? LOL i am asc and never counter strafe in my life counter stafe is bullshit and NAH in these low elo noone cares about gameplay. just go reyna and go 40 9 then you are out of low elo
maybe you watched too much youtube vids brother. remmember valorant is still a fps game. your aim decide your rank. that's it
try buying a phantom and playing with and around your team, I find this helps a lot in low elo
