- Slowly but surely the vanquish Phoenix is coming to life... The phoenix can now holds its own against the traxxas trx4 bronco 2021's, but it's not yet as much fun as the traxxas, for a work in progress, id count it a win!

Great comparison guys, 2 the best trucks on the market in my opinion. I don't own the phoenix yet but that selectable over drive seems to be worth it. How do you all like it? Sweet location too.😀
We hated it from the box, it's taken us a fair few runs to get into it but it's still very much a work in progress!✌️

@@RCunexttuesday nearly 200 gates thinking would be good to do 3 20 gate sections along the quarry face, 50 in the woods and then another 70 plus in basically same as before with a few alterations should be a good day weathers looking gr8 as well

Dang, I already see that my Carisma Range Rover will likely fail on THAT course. It's fun but I've made it top heavy with 3D printed driver, passenger, luggage and a lawn mower inside, and the roof rack will snag that overhang!
I might print a bicycle to go on top.

Was going to ask the same and whether red bronco was running open diffs?
@@rrrccc1571 The red bronco is mine. It isn't running open diffs, but I try to get as far as I can with them unlocked for better manoeuvres, and lock them when traction is lost.
@@davesrc_crawling8349 makes sense, weirdly I could only hear the yellow bronco diff servos actuating in the video
@@rrrccc1571 may just be that the camera picked it up due to proximity, but it's probably because the red one is better 😂👍
We all know orange is better, hence why the wheels have mystical enchantments. The diff locker could be heard with the orange bronco because the camera was attached to the controller, I don't want to get close enough to Dave to be able to hear his
Vanquish sounds like a meat grinder lol does it have overdrive front end or something?
You're not wrong on that front🤣 it has the overdrive installed but I'm not sure which one...
@@RCunexttuesday so all the gears amd shafts at/after the drive split are fighting each other, but the noise doesnt change when you have 2 wheels off the ground so i doubt its that makin the noise tho
What the hell, have you done to the transmission on the Phoenix? It sounds terrible 😮
That will be something to do with the gearbox that they released a replacement for 😅

Funny.
Really, considering the cost of the Phoenix $500US plus the $300-400 you need to put into it for electronics etc. before it ever turns a wheel it really should be doing more than holding it's own against the $550 RTR Traxxas. Too much hype about the Phoenix, especially the VFD Twin, which IMO is a downgrade from the original VFD which was brilliant (I have 4 for various builds). The TRX4 has better shocks, a better drivetrain (J's Phoenix sounds like it's chewing itself to death when it's running), and has a great looking body unlike the butt ugly Phoenix body. Don't get me wrong, I think Vanquish makes some really great parts and have used their axles, driveshafts , links, and transmissions in several builds but while their truck kits might be well made I don't think you're getting your money's worth compared to other trucks out there.
