This is part seven of my engine build. The goal is to create a running V-Twin Lifan engine, inspired by Allen mill yards ss100 V-Twin builds. I want to use as many standard parts as possible to make the build as easy as possible and reduce the number of parts I need to make.

Good to see a bit more progress on the Motor 👍
Curious about the 6mm Rod you need ??
I have the similar problem on my side of the ditch 🤔
Small diameter 4140 Rod is Not so easy to come by.
I guess because no one really uses this size often enough to justify keeping it in stock ??
Not totally sure of the holes in the Cylinders for the 6mm Studs to pass through ??
But, IF you have enough room, or, you could even Bore it out ??
You could possibly find a larger diameter 4140 rod and turn the ends down to 6mm or even larger for the Threads,.
Just a suggestion, that might be handy for a thicker Cylinder Stud too. 😉

That might be the go, the smallest I’ve found is 10mm, I haven’t looked too hard though. I might even have to break out the travelling steady for the first time and turn 10mm down to 6-7mm. There isn’t much meat for larger diameter threads on the engine side of the studs, I made the cylinder hole in the case larger for the 110 cylinder, in hindsight I’d have made it a snug fit for the 70cc cylinder, letting me use m8 instead of m6 threads.

I don’t know how well lost wax would scale up to something like this. The finish will be good enough for the prototype.

very interesting project! One thing I still wasn't able to figure it out - at your engine as well as on Allan Millyards v-twin engine: how do you manage to get the oil to the top-end of the standing cylinder in order to get the camshaft and valve-rockers greased? Whats the trick?
