    Takes me back to building a road legal mini bike when I was 14 years old. Mum drove me around, and I even recruited the Mayor of Auckland Sir Dove-Meyer Robinson who was a close friend and ex motorcycle racer and shop owner; and willing helper. Anyway very tight budget !!!. Thanks Mum !!!; Thanks Robbie !!!

      ‘Basic’ in the scheme of engine manufacturing haha, or maybe my perception of basic home shop equipment is warped a little.

    It hadn't occurred to me that that a mill with a DRO is a basic CMM 🤔. I've been trying to get through Kelly Coffield's videos, there's an absolute wealth of info in them.

      The things he casts are impressive. Using the Mill as a CMM makes measuring things so much easier.

    Awesome project man. As a 2 stroke fan I can't wait to see it running.
    Also an idea it would be really cool if you get some custom pipes made to maximize power delivery

    • @OddsandEndsMachining
      @OddsandEndsMachining  11 месяцев назад

      I will definitely be making some pipes. I made a set of pipes for my RZ350/RGV hybrid, I think I show the bike in the garage tour video. They came out pretty good for a first attempt.

      @@OddsandEndsMachining awesome I will check out that video.
      By the way did you decide on what kind of firing order and how will you clock the pistons.
      You can incorporate in your design the possibility to play around with that and try different configurations
      Although personally I love the even firing order and the screamer sound if it's an only track engine maybe something different fits better

    Molto interessante il lavoro che hai fatto con il bicilindrico e seguo con interesse il V4.
    Per la fusione, perché non ti fai gli stampi in PLA stampato in 3d e poi scioglierlo per avere il vuoto per la colata. Lo ho visto fare sul xanale di Simple Bronze Casting, un ucraina che sta facendo un modellino di un trattore

    • @OddsandEndsMachining
      @OddsandEndsMachining  3 месяца назад

      I would be worried about the effort of melting the PLA and having the mould keep its shape without defects. The lost foam is a well proven technique and I’ve already had success. But I’d give it a go if I had a big enough 3D printer.

      Either that or an Ignitech, I currently have a Zeel on my RZ/RGV and it seems to work very well.
